Why would we go to the trouble for $7 bottle of mousse? "No, we can't replace your item because of company policy" would have been a sufficient response, however, to call us liars when we have responsibly supported their business for years, is just so disheartening & disappointing.

I waited, however, because my graduation was the next day and I didn't have any other choice. At the end of my appointment my hair looked great. I was completely happy with my install. So I decided I'd soon book again. Fast forward four months. I booked Melissa on StyleSeat again. Melissa cancels two hours before my appointment. Two weeks later, she cancels again. This time, giving about an hours notice. She calls after this cancelation to apologize. Apparently, Melissa didn't want to leave a bad impression because she had to keep cancelling our appointments. I thought, things happen. No big deal. I told myself I'd try again. So about a week later I booked again, this time for my 9 year olds birthday party. Melissa cancels the appointment online the morning of with no notice. I never heard from anyone. My daughter went to her birthday party in a ponytail. Completely furious with her unprofessionalism I stopped booking with Melissa for a while. Today, however, I thought I'd try again. I'm going away for a few weeks and was really looking forward to the convenience of a weave. Today I had a 6pm appointment with Melissa for an install. Like the first appointment I waited, and waited, until finally I search the shops Facebook page and found a number. I called and what do you know, Melissa answers the phone. She doesn't even know about an appointment and the shop is closed for the day (not reflected online.) All I could do was laugh and hang up the phone. I couldn't be disappointed or even upset for wasting my time. I've come to find this type of unprofessional, blame it on StyleSeat behavior typical of Melissa and will never again patronize her salon. I'm all for supporting black owned businesses, especially those owned by young, black women. But as someone who works with small, minority owned businesses everyday I'll tell you Blush is by far the worst I've ever experienced. Bad customer service from an employee is one thing. But when the owner doesn't care about customer service, that's saying something.

I noticed that the pedicure slots are 1.5 hrs and it took a little less than that from start to finish. The salon has a beautiful esthetic and its very clean. They nail tech was kind, professional, and attentive. Pedi: The pedi was 7 out of 10. Because the pedicure is done in a regular chair, you don't get the comfort that a typical pedicure chair provides including the massage feature. The basic polish came out well. Beverages are offered during the service. Mani: I was nearly 40 weeks pregnant so I decided to add a manicure too. After some discussion with the tech, I selected gel with the hope that it would last a bit longer. Unfortunately, it chipped significantly within a day and by day 2, 4 fingers were completely chipped. I emailed the following day to ask to come for nail repair and they obliged. However, I was unable to go on the agreed upon day bc I went into labor. I had not washed dishes or handled chemicals with my nails so I can only assume that the issue was with the product, technique or both. Bottom Line: I would consider going back for a basic pedicure occasionally. I would NOT go back for a manicure though. Its not worth $40 especially with the severe chipping. My mom also got a pedi. We were there from 12-3:30pm for 2 pedicures and 1 gel manicure. Her pedicure came out good too. There is one technician and thus, the salon is not crowded with others.
