I almost exclusively get regular pedicures, so this review is based on that. The folks are friendly, and their chairs are comfortable. The pricing is in line with what other local spas charge, and their "basic" pedicure at $33 still includes a few perks. The biggest pro for me is the quality of their polishes. They don't have to grab one from a wall but rather choose from samples, and then they bring out a box with that polish in it. The polishes I get here consistently stay on for weeks with little to no chipping, which indicates to me that they're both solid at technique and also at ensuring the polishes they're using are of good quality and not too old or dried out. I've also never had an issue with nail damage here. On my latest visit, I overheard them working to make sure a client who didn't like their polish color got a satisfactory resolution even though it added a fair bit of workload to the nail technician. There were a constant stream of people coming in for a variety of services, so it was apparent they do well for themselves. When you check in on Yelp, you get $10 off your service! They are short staffed and even with a CONFIRMED appointment they turned us away and asked us to return at a later time. The excuse - " you made a same day appointment and we didn't have time to confirm if we had enough help".... the problem is I made the appointment on YOUR website, at a time your website allowed the appointment to be made. Additionally, you sent me a text message CONFIRMING my appointments. I checked in as requested and after waiting for 10 mins ... I was advised I can't be serviced until later in the day. I'm really disappointed with my experience at Haute Headz. I was excited to try a new stylist after…read moreseeing her work on IG (Avery) and was prepared to spend more than I normally would, but I walked out feeling frustrated and like I didn't get what I paid for--especially at a $300 price point. The appointment started off uncomfortably when the stylist next to me overheard what I do for a living (title insurance) and commented that I work in "legalized extortion." Not only was this wildly inappropriate, it made me feel awkward and judged right from the start. I had a thorough consultation with my stylist and we agreed that to achieve the look I wanted--light ends contrasting with a deeper base--I'd need a full lightening service rather than the partial that was originally quoted. I agreed to the upcharge with the expectation that I'd get the desired result. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Instead of a smooth, dimensional color, I ended up with chunky highlights, a grown-out root look, and ends that are still noticeably darker than the base. It looks like a rushed job and not at all the intentional contrast we discussed. To make things worse, there are two very obvious bright white spots at my hairline where toner was completely missed. I brought this up when I got home and noticed it (Avery really should have caught them when washing or styling my hair, they're quite obvious) and the stylist did offer to fix it, but her availability didn't line up with mine. I explained that I couldn't take another hour and a half off work to come in during the week, given the 30+ minute drive each way, which she knows because we live near each other. Rather than showing understanding, she got defensive and told me it wouldn't take long and that I should reach out to the salon owner if I had further concerns. The one bright spot in all this (well, other than the 2 in my hairline) is that the haircut turned out well, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. But overall, this was a frustrating experience with results I'm unhappy with and a lack of professionalism I didn't expect from a salon at this price point. I won't be returning.
