Posh was an old Men's Club in the past. The present owners bought and made it into a restaurant on the first floor. The wedding reception rooms and large group events/ party rooms are on the second floor. This is a huge place. My friend and I ate a late brunch here this past Sunday and we're immediately greeted by Sandy who showed us to our table. I've enclosed a copy of the Sunday brunch menu. They are categorized into two prices $18 and $24. Keep in mind this is not a buffet. Kelly, who has worked here almost two years, was very friendly and helpful. We visited for a Drag Brunch on a Sunday morning. When we walked in the building we weren't sure where to go -- there was no signage. We asked some other ladies and they told us the event was upstairs. We climbed the stairs and was greeted by a nice gentleman who took our names and pointed us in the direction of what room was what. The food was down the hall from the room where the drag show was. They had one omelet station (for the amount of people, they should've had two), some sides (bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc) and a cash bar. The food was just "meh." My favorite part was that the drag queens walked around while everyone was eating and were chit chatting with us. I loved that. They are so down-to-earth and it made their unique personalities really shine. The show itself was them lip syncing to popular songs while working the room. Take some tip money if you go! You can get $1's from the DJ if you don't have any. The overall experience was just ok. I'm torn on whether I'd attend again.... read more

I've brought my family to Posh several times for Easter brunch and Mother's Day as well. Posh puts on a spectacular brunch buffet with interesting and high-quality entree choices. As others have reported the bananas foster French toast is delicious, and the Easter ham I tried today puts the "honey baked ham company" to shame. There's also a multitude of salads and desserts as well to try, and service was friendly, helpful and competent. Posh is moderately priced but appropriate for the quality of food and service you receive. Suit and tie isn't necessary but dress nice. I look forward to coming back every so often, you won't be disappointed. read more

We hired Posh to cater our off-site wedding this past October. I'll begin with the disappointment we faced with the menu sampling, done on site at their restaurant in Scranton. I was originally told by Josh that we would be able to have a total of six people for the tasting, with the possibility of adding extra people at an additional cost. I confirmed with him over email that we would have eight total, and made the reservation for us to come in and try our menu items. The tasting comes along, and I could not believe how rude Josh was to me. Other members of my party arrived before me, and when I walked in before even INTRODUCING himself to me, he informed me that I had never told him to expect eight people and it would be impossible to do the tasting for that amount of people. I pulled up the email chain right there and showed him where I had expressed this information to him. Without saying anything, he walked away. We were all fed, so I assume it wasn't actually impossible. Nevertheless, he never came out to see what we thought about the food and never followed up by email. I had to reach out with changes. I wish now that we had found another local caterer and hadn't ignored these warning signs. But, we had used Posh for an on-site event before and they had done a fine job. We thought our wedding would be the same. So, let's talk about the wedding reception. Josh had told us he would be out to the wedding site the day before to set up the catering tent and walk through specifics. This never happened. He didn't show up until right before the start of the event with very little communication leading up to his arrival. We had a number of designated outlets that he requested for food warmers, and yet he used zero of these. The food was cold and the portions were miniscule. The short rib entrée at the sweetheart table was served without the sauce. Just a few small sliced (!) pieces of meat that were not tender enough to be called "five house braised short ribs." I would have sent them back if we had been simply out for dinner, but the fact of the matter is that it took so incredibly long for the courses to be served to everyone and (after well over 90 minutes) I didn't want to spend any more of my wedding sitting at a table waiting for mediocre food. In hindsight, I wish I had taken photos of what we were served. While our table was supposed to be served first, I had to ASK to be served both the pasta and salad course. We were told we had to be seated at our table in order to be served, and yet even with us sitting and not visiting with guests, I had to get up and ask a server to bring us a salad, as they had almost completely finished bringing salads to the rest of the tables. Unfortunately, since the service timeline was not observed and dinner took so long to finally make it to our table, we were unable to do the table rounds we had planned to do before the cake cutting. We missed out on being able to speak to all our guests because we were waiting for cold "short ribs" without the sauce. Not to write a diatribe, but if you are considering having them cater an off-site wedding, it is helpful to share what exactly you might miss out on. In a review my mother left elsewhere, Josh responded that many guests stopped by his tent to complement the food. Out of all the vendors who were complemented by our guests to us, the caterer was NOT one of them. I can only assume that if this were true, our guests were doing this out of kindness and not because they were impressed by the quality of the service or the food. read more

The decor of this restaurant is definitely posh, but unfortunately the food is not so posh. I looked at the reviews and the menu and they seemed to be great so my husband and I decided to try Posh for dinner. Unfortunately, the food was just not up to par. My husband and I ordered the pork belly, which was a very odd consistency and undercooked. The lobster and mac & cheese was definitely frozen and most likely should not have been used as it was very chewy. We ordered a burger because we thought you can't go wrong with a burger. A Wendy's burger would have been a better option. :( Maybe we were at Posh on an off night since the reviews were so promising. Even if you don't go for something to eat, Posh is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. read more

Food was average-nothing too memorable- not bad but not great- alittle above diner food level....especially considering the price - expected more Omelette station was below average- not good The best food was the Shrimp cocktail (it's hard to mess that up- raw shrimp and cocktail sauce- my 2 YO can make that) and the Fruit.... Service was friendly and average.... Ambience is old world charm with a live piano player....it's overall a nice place Family accepted BUT they do not have any high chairs !!! This restaurant is the site of a former "social club" in downtown Scranton. The entrance to the dining area was large and walked us by a large staircase with paintings of what I assume were the founders of the original club. The interior and bar have a nice modern vibe and the menu similar to any upscale steakhouse. I ordered the filet mignon and my wife had the NY strip I believe. Both were cooked as requested and neither one of us had any complaints. read more

How this restaurant was allowed to remain open without running water is beyond me. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting as patron after patron eliminated themselves into the same toilet bowls (how's that for appetizing). Duringa pandemic there was no way to properly wash hands. Plastic cups used to serve $10.00+ cocktails. It's a shame that not one single person even apologized. I did not call for management or make a scene as it was my first dinner out with my friend for her birthday since last February and did not want to spike the evening. read more

Excellent martinis, very good food and service. Went here last Friday on a girl's day out with my mother, sister and aunt. I was impressed. We started with drinks; the magarita, poshtini, the hemingway, and for myself a watermelon mojito. I actually do not like mojitos, but this sounded good enough that I was willing to be brave. I was not disappointed...WOW. Amazing drinks. We all had a sip of eachother's and everyone agreed. I've travelled a lot and I'd rate these as a tie for the best drinks I've ever had, their contenders being peach & cucumber martinis I had at an upscale south beach seafood restaurant a few years ago. All 4 of us are foodies and my mom and aunt are amazing cooks, so we like to sample. We decided to get multiple appetizers to share, then just split 2 entrees (as opposed to 4). We ordered the fried shrimp, lobster mac & ch, and the Mahi mahi tacos, a crock of french onion for myself, and for entrees the burger and roast beef dip. The appetizers were very good. Although they are fairly common dishes, they were set apart by the fact that each had a unique aspect to it. For the shrimp & lobster mac, it was the sauce; for the tacos it was the Mahi Mahi. The shrimp were cooked just right and well coated (but not drenched) in a well accenting, light sauce. The lobster mac had visible lobster chunks and the style was sautee pan (as opposed to baked). Although I wish the Mahi was not fried (so I could get more of the natural taste), it was still flavorful, tender, and moist inside. The entrees were good, but my burger was a little lackluster to be honest. Their lunch menu was also a little plain, but I understand they need to be practical to some extent. I didn't have the roast beef but my mom said it was good, as well as the accompanying sweet potato fries. I was stuffed, but the girls really wanted to try dessert. My mom got a chocolate cake to go and we ordered a slice of lemon/raspberry mascarpone and carrot cake for the table to share. They were both very good. The staff was very classy and thoughtful, the atmosphere upscale but not pretentious, and very clean. Will be coming back to try their happy hour and brunch offerings! read more

This place is the biggest F'in joke. I arrived to my nieces bridal shower & worked my butt off to get the room set!!! I was sweating!!! Everything promised to my sister was not followed through on & Josh who is the worst party planner ever had no recollection of anything discussed prior to the event. He's one of those guys who thinks he knows everything but does nothing but run away because he promised & couldn't deliver. This is my second review of Posh and I'm glad to say that things have improved. My issue was never with the food or atmosphere. The food is consistently delicious and the restaurant has one of my favorite interiors downtown. Thankfully, the service has definitely gotten better. read more

Went for dinner with my uncle and had a great experience at the bar, server was knowledgeable of menu and has her own personal favorites. I had the filet medallions and they were outstanding cooked perfectly to my med rare temp mashed potatoes and veg was also delicious. Only downside is there is a cigar bar in basement and you get a blast of the excess as you walk thru the corridor to get to the restaurant. Went for brunch. Nice atmosphere, they did a great job when refinishing the interior of this building. Food on the other hand was sad. Started off with a fruit cup. All stale and far from fresh, the pineapple was soft and oxidize, with a dark tint. The cantaloupe and honeydew were bland hunks of fiber, clearly no one there took the time to even taste what they were serving people. They provided two small pastries that looked like they were from Sam's club, dry and flavorless. Featured cocktail, was nothing more than pineapple juice with rum. I ordered the croque monsieur. The egg was cooked through, no runny yolk. The bread was soft and greasy. The ham was of poor quality, and they used way too much of what they claimed was a "mustard sauce" (pretty much just mustard). Finally, it was served with a side of potatoes, barely room temp, over cooked, clearly prepared in mass far head of time. The quality of food was below a cheap buffet. Overall potential exists in a nice setting, but massive disappointment, would not recommend, not going back. read more

Went here over the weekend. This place was interesting. It's basically set up in what appears to be a old house, I really liked the vibes and decorations. There was def history behind it. I'm curious to know more about it. The bathrooms would have been more maintained but the paper towels they provided were on point. We went for brunch. The coffee was great and the dishes of fruit were nice. The water glasses were a strange choice but they got the job done. The silverware was very heavy. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. It was so good! The sauce that came on the sandwich was amazing. The fries could have been a lot more crispy. Brother got steak and eggs. Steak was cooked great and he loved the potatoes that came along with it. Dad got eggs Benedict with ham. He said it was delicious. The bacon was nice and crispy. Someone got a Caesar salad. It was beautiful. We also got the chocolate peanut butter cake and a brownie al mode for desert. Amazing!!! They also provided some pastries for us to start with. The cinnamon ones were good, but the scones were on the burnt side. I would most likely come back. Service was good, but we did wait a very long time for the food. read more

Great upscale place for dinner. We ate here before seeing a show at the Masonic Temple and enjoyed it. The drinks and food were great and the staff was attentive. Had a party of 9 that they were easily able to accommodate with a reservation almost 7 days out. Table was ready upon arrival and allowed us to sit without the entire party present, which was nice. Food service was okay, a little slow. The menu could be a little more descriptive, as several of us were surprised by our food choices. Desserts left a little to be desired. They ran out of one of them, the skillet cookie. Which was disappointingly served cold. End of the night we discovered the red paint on the water glasses had been chipping off all night and we had been ingesting it. The manager was kind enough to compensate us for our troubles. Overall, it just feels like the place is slightly over reaching how "fancy" it is. We'll give it another try for date night, but probably not for another family gathering. read more

We decided to make reservations for Thanksgiving Day dinner a few weeks ago, and we were so pleased. The Thanksgiving dinner menu offered three entrees: turkey, salmon or filet. Dinner was launched with an appetizer of fresh goat cheese with a delightful freshly made marmalade followed by a seasonal pumpkin soup. A lovely salad, and then entrees arrived. Servers were very attentive and pleasant. Dinner was served with roasted root vegetables and mashed fresh potatoes along with family served stuffing, roaster baby Brussels sprouts, and sweet potato's. Each course was presented so beautifully. We concluded our dinner with coffee and dessert- a nice selection of choices... I opted for the traditional pumpkin pie and my spouse chose the cheesecake. Did not really enjoy my experience there. Two things influenced this. First, bar service was extremely slow. Probably waited 15 minutes for a drink - and when we ordered our second drinks the restaurant was half empty. Finally one member of our party (who had sent one drink back as unacceptable) inquired what was happening. She told them since it was taking so long she didn't want hers anymore. I said I'd still take mine. Instead of listening, they brought hers (which she sent back anyway) and told her hers was on the house. Just set mine down in front of me with no comment. Either they're all late and should be on the house, or they're not. I shouldn't have had to complain extensively for that. We were told that the bartender was new - but in that case, someone should have been helping her. I got an appetizer, fried cauliflower, and a salad for my meal. The menu indicates the cauliflower had Aleppo pepper in it - which I have in my cupboard. I've used it and not noted it as being particularly hot, but a nice flavor. The cauliflower was coated in some paste with the pepper in it and then, it appeared, battered and fried. A nice fry - but the paste had so much pepper it made it almost too hot for me to eat (and I eat a lot of hot). Salad was nice. One person wanted onion soup but the restaurant was out of onion soup (how can you be out of a staple like that?). I didn't want dessert since things seemed to be very slow, but two of my companions elected to, and the one who had complained about the slowness of OUR drinks was given a free dessert. Again - drinks came at the same speed for the entire table. She got a lava cake - which was cold. Not room temp - but refrigerator cold. No lava (which, had there been lava the cool cake would have been ok). Another friend got the limoncello cheesecake. She liked the cheesecake part but found the 'gastric' inedible. In the display of desserts there was a red sauce, which looked like raspberry. With minor exceptions the table enjoyed the main courses. I'm still annoyed that one person was offered a free drink to make up for the slowness of the table's drinks. read more

Delivery was fine, we ordered through gubhub. The food was less than to be desired for the pricing. The mahi tacos were great, everything else was just mediocre. Under seasoned frozen spinach and bland risotto with the scallops. Burnt, bitter lemon that ruined the flavor of the crab cakes and undercooked veggies. The roast beef dip was bland and tasted like old, dry meat. the au jus leaked all over the place leaving the bread soggy and falling apart. We threw the whole sandwich away. The Lobster mac n cheese, also, was bland, with pasta less cooked than al dente which gave an extra, unpleasant, toothsome feel. All in all pretty a pretty mediocre place. Everything kind of tasted premade, kind of like an Applebees or Chilis type place. Was a little surprised actually, for the cost and vibe it seemed like it would be a little better quality. There was a flat bread special we wanted to order but asked for an ingredient to be left off- they could not though because it was indeed premade and would just be heated to serve. Everything else was very average. Everyone who worked there was very nice but the service was painfully slow. Maybe one of those slowest restaurants I've ever been to. One person ordered a piece of cake for dessert and it took over around 20 minutes to be brought out. I don't think Scranton is known for it's food. However, I got really excited when some clients took us to this place. It was a converted Men's club that seemed very "posh" and had a good vibe. The menu was interesting and the bar was stocked. I was on the clock so no booze. There was a constant reminder that the service was bad. They were inattentive and didn't listen to our requests. I'm hoping it was the one waitress we had. To top it off, we had some really small portions. I ordered the Salade Nicoise. I was excited to see all the right ingredients in there. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and it is missing key things like the potatoes or beans, etc. This had all the fixings. When it came it was really small. It was a lunch portion but I was left really hungry. The taste was ok. I could have had my tuna a bit more rare. Overall, it's one of the better restaurants we have eaten at in the area. But I wouldn't drive to Scranton just to eat there. I am looking forward to eating at the place with the giant octopus on top of it. read more
