Purchased a 'flipped' Cape in 2019. Bertola was the lead plumber, contracted (by the Seller) to…read morecomplete all plumbing related installations and ensure adherence to code. After an independent Home Inspection (by Buyer) it was discovered that 1. No stack pipe had been installed. major code violation per Home Inspector. 2. The Electric Water System. Installation of which had not been completed by Bertola. Both Contractor and Bertola neglected to inform Buyer and sold house as-is. Result, when hot water was required the condensation dripped from the active system and would pool across basement floor. Not realising this was happening Buyer initially thought a pipe had burst. A significant amount of water had pooled and spread causing damage. Follow up: 1. Bertola added a 'stack' pipe (per code). Holes were drilled in bathroom ceiling. No cleanup of repairs attempted. 2. Water Heater; Bertola turned up with an approx 5ft length of blue PVC piping to rectify the water 'pooling'. When questioned what his plan was, Bertola said he would drill hole into basement floor and place the PVC into it, attaching other end to Heater Unit. The water would then drain into the hole in the concrete...!!! Buyer told Bertola to come back with the correct condensation unit so that his initial installation could be completed...per proper business practice. Bertola left. He never returned to rectify/finish his work, nor returned any further calls from Buyer. Buyer ended up hiring and paying a different Plumber to correctly install a condensation collection unit with proper drainage.
