I'm sorry but despite a few nice people here this is the worst post office. They are so unhelpful it's ridiculous. They move so slowly it feels intentional and multiple times I have gone in asking for help only to be stonewalled and leave with nothing having made no progress. The usps and this branch in particular needs to do better. I sick of losing mail, I'm sick of having to deliver mail to the correct addresses and I'm sick of having subpar costumer service experiences. read more

After reading all of the other reviews I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that the staff at this post office hate their job, they are rude, not helpful at all, always on their phones, and just Lazy, with no sense of urgency when 15 people are in line and 1 person at the counter, and half the time they have the doors closed with a sign on it that something is down or broken, if thats the case then someone in charge should be getting it fixed or replaced, if I wanted to be hassled for no reason I would stay home with my kids, its out of control there, I hope someone reads these and fixes the problem. read more

The mail carriers and management at this post office are wildly unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive. I work with the public also, and I genuinely cannot understand the mindset of thinking it's a-okay to be downright rude and yell at customers while on the clock. I live in an apartment building that is serviced by this post office and I never had issues up until last week. In the past, carriers were nice and would say hello. There was never any indication that you had to avoid the mail area entirely if a carrier is present. So last week, when I saw I had a package just delivered, I went downstairs to the mailroom to retrieve it. The mailwoman was present but was at the other end of the boxes (mine is near the window, she was near the back wall). My section of boxes were locked, as were all the other boxes, other than the ones directly in front of her. As I approached my box, she yelled, "Ma'am, this area is off-limits." I replied, "Oh...I can't check my mail?" and she said I could not. I was surprised by that, so I walked down the ramp in my building to the other side of where she was (not passing by the mailboxes directly) and asked if she could tell me if she saw a package for me. Her response, "I don't even know who you are" in THE nastiest tone -- and rolled her eyes. I pointed out the mailbox key I was holding, and she didn't reply, so I was like, "Well, okay then, you have a great night." As I stood by the elevator to go back upstairs, I heard her mutter under her breath, "I'm almost done!" ....Well, if you were almost done and clearly had finished my section, what in the world was the big deal about me checking my mail? I would totally understand if the boxes were wide open and I tried to reach in, or if she was within 6 feet of my section and needed to social distance. But I can assure you, I was not trying to steal anyone's mail from their locked boxes. Since that hadn't happened before, I sent a heads up to my resident group to inform others. That's when I learned that my incident wasn't a first. I also reported it to my building management, who suggested reporting it to USPS, as they had also lodged several complaints. I detailed all of the above in a report to USPS, requested a response via email, and the next day received a VM from a man at this post office requesting "additional information" and said he'd call back the next day. No call the next day, but this morning I received a call from a woman who didn't tell me her title at the post office. She was also aggressive from the start, told me that her carrier was not being rude to me, that she was doing her job, and that I was unauthorized to be near my mailbox. I tried explaining that her tone was extremely rude, but this woman wouldn't let me get a word in, so I hung up on her. All told, I hope to never have to deal with these horrific people again. Can you put this nicely if the building was on fire I would not urinate on it to save the building or anything in it. After 4 first class packages have been lost and mail has not been delivered for six weeks it's no excuse. Don't tell me that no mail carrier is the reason for this. I just moved here and have been here multiple times. They are extremely slow to assist customers. Twelve to fifteen people in line and only one, 1, person assisting. Multiple workers can see the line at all times and have zero concerns. Many customers complaining they haven't received mail in weeks! This is your standard, straight forward post office. It's a bit dingy and slow, but it gets the job done. Important note about USPS staff: be nice to them and they will be nice to you! I visit this location 3-5 times per week for work because my office has a P.O. Box here. The front room has several hundred P.O. boxes, free Priority Mail Flat Rate envelops and packaging, mail drop off slots, and an automated postage machine. The machine will print up to 100 stamps at a time, which is how I always buy my Forever stamps. The second room has more Flat Rate mailers, shipping supplies such as tape, envelopes, and boxes for sale, and the shipping counter. If you want to ship something at lunchtime prepare to wait, because that's seemingly when everyone and their mother in Richmond also wants to mail packages and quibble over pricing. While I do hate waiting in line for my entire lunch break, it's usually the fault of unprepared or agitated customers rather than the post office personnel, who are generally unflappable. I cannot stress my previous tip enough: be nice to the staff and they will be nice to you! In hundreds of visits I've never seen them ignore or be rude to any customers. But if you choose to get sassy because you don't like how the federal government prices stamps or expect them to provide you with free tape while you wrap five packages at the counter with a huge line behind you, the staff will absolutely either be curt or shut down and stare blankly ahead as if you're a piece of furniture. read more

I'm assuming this is "my" post office because it is where I pick up packages after I receive those yellow "we missed you cards" that I always receive when I'm home. I guess knocking on the door and requesting my signature is asking too much and would interrupt my postal carriers phone call. I don't understand how some people can talk SO much, about nothing. Every single day he delivers my mail he is on the phone. It's obnoxious hearing him cuss and laugh everyday "aww yeah hahaha". I think if he wasn't distracted from his job (which is delivering mail, right?), I'd stop getting mail belonging to people on different streets, blocks away. Maybe if he wasn't distracted, he'd be able to put my mail INSIDE the mailbox instead placed in that curved hook thingie made for magazines and newspapers. That hook thingie does not hold the mail, the slightest breeze knocks letters and bills out and across my porch and lawn. Yay! Its so much fun chasing credit card bills around my yard and trying to open wet mail. Maybe the post office wouldn't be in such financial trouble if they hired people who could do their job, wear their uniform, stop wearing sweatpants and isn't a lazy jerk-off. I started paying my bills online because of issues with the post office before. I wasn't receiving all of my mail and missed payments because the mailman wasn't doing his job. I've complained before but it does absolutely nothing. This place blows. The USPS should fire the dead weight and require more from their employees. read more

The wait was a little long, but I'm pretty sure they were a little understaffed during this pandemic. As soon as another person was able to come out, the line flowed like water. The woman who helped me was very nice, she knew what she was doing. The lady at the other register was very nice as well. I opened a PO Box here. I sent myself two test letters and neither were received. When I approached them about it, they seemed stumped. When I said I'll see if my letter to the Postmaster General makes it, they then took a sudden interest. The employee went about 1 MPH to the back, spent about 10 minutes, then came back and told me "they didn't complete the paperwork" so we hadn't opened the box yet. When I pointed out she was the person that helped me open the box and I wondered who the "they" was she was referring to, she looked at me like I asked her to split the atom. I'm really unhappy with the service I receive from this location. Slow delivery. Slow service at the counter. Missing items at times. read more

If no stars were an option, that's what I would have chosen. I came here to send a package to Canada for a customer that needed their glasses in 1-2 days. My request seemed awfully inconvenient, as the window clerk remained on her cell phone, scrolling through Facebook as she attempted "helping" me. She said that I could send the package but that I would have to fill out a different form, and then sent me across the room as she pointed out where the forms may be. After having difficulties finding the form, I asked her if she could help. Her reply was that I needed to go to another post office because they must not have anymore forms. I work in customer service and NEVER would I make someone feel so inconvenient as a customer. No wonder post offices are closing everywhere. I'll never go here again! read more

Like others, if I could give ZERO stars I would! I sent a package through Amazon, and accidentally had it sent to a relatives old address in Richmond. The package should have been going to Midlothian, which is approximately 15 miles away. I just spoke to the most miserable postal employee I have ever dealt with. I explained to her that the package arrived at their facility yesterday and could they forward it to the correct address. She informed me that there was nothing she could do, as she doesn't know who I am and I could just be anyone calling. SERIOUSLY??!!!!! Why would anyone just call up and ask for a package to be sent to a CORRECT address, that they have the tracking number too, along with every bit of information needed, just for the heck of it??!!!!! Now the package has to be returned to the sender then shipped back out. Besides, she says, they would have to generate a new address/shipping label and that costs money, and since I'm not there to pay for it, that can't be done either. I said "I can't pay for it over the phone?" NOPE!!! Now isn't that great customer service! read more

On Saturday, I did get a phone message from a person at the post office consumer affairs stating that they would work on the problem with me receiving wet mail, other people's mail, and not getting my own mail. So, Monday 9/24, a neighbor brought me a bill that he had received instead at his address. And I'm supposed to call consumer affairs every time this happens??? read more

If I could give this branch 0 stars or less, I would. The people there are inept at best, probably lazy in the norm. The lady there who I have had to interact with a number of times, (not sure if she is the manager), always seems to have a crappy attitude. And that is not just my opinion. While over there today, returning a box that was left on my porch, but should have gone to a completely different name and address, neither of which is anywhere near me, nor could even be remotely confused with my name or address, this lady had her usual snippy disposition. The guy behind me in line even noticed, and questioned her as to what she was so annoyed about. I have had nothing but problems with this post office for the past 5 years. If I have to mail out a package, I now use FedEx, or I go out to the USPS office out on Patterson Ave. At least the people there are polite and even friendly. This PO should either be shut down, or have a wholesale workforce replacement. read more
