I appreciate the variety they offer-a little something for everyone. The theater itself is pretty comfortable and all the seats could be considered "good" seats. I kind of like the balcony because you get a fuller view of the stage than you might get down on the floor. The bathrooms are a little on the smaller side, and can get crowded at intermission. But if you plan ahead, you might be able to skip that. I appreciate that they offer some concessions and allow them inside during the show. The Utah chocolate is my favorite, and has become routine anytime I come here. There's a good amount of parking nearby or the Stadium Trax station is a short walk from the theater. Overall, it's a nice theater and I'm glad we have this in our community. Support the arts!

The auditorium gave me major nostalgic vibes with its historic gold accents, rich wood details, an open stage and classic red velvet curtains. From what I recall, there are two levels. I went upstairs outside the auditorium to use the restrooms, which were clean and well-maintained. Staffs were friendly. They only served candies, snacks, and beverages (no alcohol) at that time. Overall, I enjoyed the concert and would be open to checking out other shows here in the future.

The layout is a little interesting- you start at the middle, then head downstairs and then go back upstairs to get seated. Odd but it worked. The theater is much smaller than I thought but the seats were comfy and a good size. Watching the films were great and the sound was balanced nicely too. The only tricky part is parking, make sure to park directly behind the building and not other adjacent lots as those seem to be $$$.

They have a small concession stand where you can get some treats and there is a (paid) parking lot across the street. I'd never heard of it until I discovered that they were playing Rocky Horror Picture Show-the live version. Since our annual pilgrimage to Tower Theater didn't happen this year (thanks Covid) I was eager to find an alternative. It wasn't until my wife and I pulled into the parking lot, 30 minutes before showtime, that we realized this wasn't the movie, this was a real honest-to-goodness play. Gulp. How was this going to be? Fast forward a couple hours...it was AMAZING! I know this review isn't about the show itself, but rather the venue. So I'll say that the theater itself was beautiful, very comfortable and spacious. It accommodated a large audience nicely, with plenty of legroom and aisle space. I didn't feel cramped, like I do in other local, small theaters. Parking is plentiful, and free. I felt like our car was safe in the lot, and it was well lit, providing extra security. Now that I know this little gem is here, I'll look into what other plays they have coming up and will very likely return.

We were in town for school and decided to check out the Off Broadway Theatre. The show was sold out…read morebut there is a row in the back that is not used and we were able to snag two seats there since the young woman at the entrance was lovely. We saw Dracula vs. the Hunchback and it was fantastic! It was funny and interactive; they had great parodies for well-known songs and the actors were super entertaining. If we lived in town, we would be frequent patrons. When we return for graduation, we will be sure to come by if there is a show playing. What a completely unexpected and delightful night we were able to enjoy! I would strongly recommend it and am very grateful we had the opportunity to see the show in the rather comfortable fold up chairs. Next time we will buy tickets earlier and sit in the super comfy seats!

The snacks were inexpensive and typical movie theater fare. Think popcorn, candy and sodas. They were quick to get your snacks and were on time with the performance. Afterwards the cast will meet guests outside the theater which is a very nice addition. The ticket pricing was similar to seeing a movie. I was fortunate enough to catch a live broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word, and everything was beautifully organized from start to finish. The performance began and ended exactly on schedule, and the whole experience flowed with such calm precision that it felt almost effortless. The music was moving, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the setting made it feel incredibly special. It's something that truly felt once in a lifetime for me, and I loved every moment of it.

This was a cool find upon my exploration of Salt Lake City!…read more I have been reading and following a book this summer called The Artist Way where the idea is to write morning pages to open your mind and flow with creativity. Additionally, it tasks you with one thing each week as your "Artist's Date." That could be anything from rummaging through an estate sale, going to a funky shop by yourself.. basically any new experience. This venture into the tabernacle served as my artist's date for the week. Honestly I was more into exploring downtown Salt Lake than planning to head to the temple grounds, but as I got closer I grew intrigued to see it. I also had someone following me and shouting obscenities, so when I saw the green space here (and security officers and crowds), I thought, sure, why not head that way?! The tabernacle has a presence, for sure. It was quiet, with some people pulling up seats in the pews and just kicking back. There was no live choir, but at one point a recording of choir went off and added a nice ambiance. Someone got up to do an acoustic display; they dropped a pencil without a mic and I could hear it clear as day in the back. The domed roof allows for that, similar to many cathedrals I've been in across Europe. I enjoyed the energy here. I heard lots of Mormons connecting as many had traveled from various cities and continents, and while not Mormon myself, I caught glimpses of their community and belonging that were nice to observe. Sometimes the unplanned discoveries when out and about, or on the artist's date in this case, are some of the more fun elements of day to day living. This one definitely snuck up on me, and I'm grateful for the brief experience.
