Seating is pretty horrible at this venue, I never had to wiggle so much in my chair to make sure I didn't get a butt sore.

It's mostly an automated concession stand so be ready for that. Service was slow that day to get popcorn and a cup for soda. It was on a Sunday. I think Sundays might just be a slow day. The entrance to the movie was easy to locate. The seats were a bit tricky to locate in the dark. The advertisements had already began so the lights were out. There were many advertisements and movie previews to sit through before Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning began. Be aware of that delay. The seats are deep and luxurious. I sunk into the seat and felt very comfortable throughout the movie. They had sliding tables for each seat in the row I sat in to put food on while enjoying the movie. I was glued to the screen much of the time. Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is action packed. I did use a restroom once during the film. The restroom was somewhat easy to locate. There are signs up near the ceiling by the restroom doors. Only problem was that the water for the sinks to wash my hands in did not dispense water. No water for the sinks! So I had to use an anti-bacteria foam dispenser by the door to clean my hands after using the restroom. One other suggestion. The air conditioning that day was excellent at the concession stand. However, inside the individual movie theater, it was too warm. Just a suggestion to turn the air conditioning up a bit more. It was hot outside when I was there.

While the employees were kind and efficient, the chairs in theater eight need to be replaced. For the price of the tickets, the seats need to be updated--not deteriorating. Every seat my group of four sat in was deteriorating, making it appear like the person who chose to purchased those seats initially bought the cheap item that is intended for home use instead of commercial use. I was honestly disgusted sitting in them because the appearance of the seats gave an unclean appearance. This issue has nothing to do with the employees and everything to do with the manager or owner of the theater in Sugarhouse. The restroom also had toilet paper on the floor of almost every stall in the women's restroom.

Great location for a theater, with nice restaurants nearby. I'll probably start going to this theater regularly. The biggest negative was the service. Nearly everyone we interacted with gave off grouchy vibes. I get it, it's the holiday season and there are lots of kids, but there's not need to be a jerk and ruin the moviegoers' experience. I could also complain about having to sit through 20 minutes of commercials and a further 15 minutes of previews before the movie began, but that's not unique to this location; it's the industry norm now.

We actually didn't realize that this would be an interactive kind of thing until we first stepped in. Entry is free and you get an immediate hands-on experience once you walk in. We visited on a Friday evening and the crowd traffic wasn't too bad. It was busy, but not extremely busy by any means. The first floor includes asteroids and Mother Nature stuff, like tornadoes and volcanoes. There's a tornado that you can step into and it actually destroys it when you walk into it. But don't think if you've ruined it, because it will come back when you walk out of it. You can also touch the moon and billions old asteroids and play around with a volcano simulator. I even tried to lift a meteorite and it was quite heavy! On the second floor you will find an IMAX theater, where you can watch space movies. Concessions are included like in a real movie theater. No food or drinks are allowed in their other theater on the third floor, however. The third floor is all about space and planets. We got to learn what various planets smell like by pressing a button and putting our nose in front of the vent. We also got to see how water freezes (under a magnifying glass) and a special camera of what our body temperature was like. We also walked into a red planet room with interactive robots. This room definitely looked like something out of Star Wars. If you like anything space related and if you're looking for something to do in the Gateway District, I recommend Clark Planetarium!
