This used to be a highly competent professionally run postal service. BUT they have changed ownership. Under new ownership, prices are significantly higher and services are lackluster to borderline inefficient and incompetent. I would not recommend this business to anyone as it is these days and that is based on the lack of quality services in addition to exorbitant price gouging as surcharges. In February I took a flat rate priority mail envelope to this location for mailing. The post office rate a flat rate of $21, but the PC female employee , whose name I didn't get, described as having several facial piercings, short hair perhaps an African American, as I am, lied to me about their rates, she said that the USPO had increased its rates two days earlier and now the rate to mail the envelope to LA, California would cost me $36, reluctantly I mailed the envelope out of necessity. However, three days later I was at the main post office in Bend and inquired from the clerk, if there was a price hike and was assured there had not been. The truth is that the additional $16 was a Postal Connection surcharge at this particular postal connection. At their discretion they added $21 USPO flat rate postal envelope that I mailed. Naturally, I felt angry that I had been lied to, taken advantage of &the victim of a severe price gouge. Furthermore my envelope didn't reach its destination, and I had to file a claim with the post office. On 11/21 I returned to same postal connection to drop off USPO Amazon prepaid return. It turns off the same delay assisted and I told her of the mistake she made, she recalled our encounter and told me it was not her fault that is the price, then finally she admitted it was the surcharge for me using their business versus the USPO she became agitated saying It's not he fault that the rates are what they are! Finally, she admitted there's a new Owner and these are their new prices. While, I was complaining to her then there's a white male, blonde hair employee who was helping an elderly male at the counter in there about said OK we made a mistake, just take the card I was waiting to pay for a greeting card, and just leave! He so rude and obnoxious. I told him I don't want a free card, and I simply left the store. In my haste I neglected to get my receipt for dropping off the Amazon return. Needless to say, I returned to the store mention that the female had given it to me, I assured him she hadn't, although he did not ask her or check/verify. He said "I could just give you the package back cause I can't print out another receipt." I said ok took my package back and left' Bottom line I'm only one of several folks who've been going to this postal connection over the years. However at the point under its new ownership and outrageously unacceptable services, I will never go back! Word to the wise, do NOT use this business if you have something that you want to mail through the post office or UPS. You would do better to go directly the USPO or the UPS across the parking lot by Walmart, The up charge for Postal Connection at 61141 S Highway 97, Bend 97702 is so outrageously overpriced and the customer service is poor & highly unacceptable. I spent 2 months in Bend and had my mail forwarded from Ca to a PO Box at Postal Connections. Each and every time I went into the store to check my mail- which was never there, Jeff was at the counter helping a customer. He remembered my name, was friendly, helpful and most importantly very efficient. UNLIKE USPS who managed to forward 2 pieces of mail in 6 weeks. I get mail notifications daily from USPS of mail that is being delivered but apparently it's very difficult to reroute mail. Needless to say, I would highly recommend using the services at Postal Connection. Used many times. But most recent visit, I did not have one shipping address handy, but had shipped multiple times to the recipient through this location. The older gentleman couldn't find it on the system, then chastised me for not coming in prepared. I apologized and explained that they had shipped so many times to this recipient that I figured it was easily accessible on the system. After he looked on the account without luck, I asked nicely if I could take a look at the screen. When I did, he kept scrolling so fast I couldn't see anything so I asked him to slow down. He then chastised me again about not coming in prepared, and accused me of treating him like he doesn't know what he's doing because I asked if I could look at the screen with him (I hoping to help spot it). I explained I was not belittling him, just trying to help, and he again chastised me for not coming in prepared. So to be clear, I've shipped to the same recipient multiple times, my family name likely has two accounts with them because of my wife and I. I told him all of this, I was polite, trying to help us get it done quickly (note that there was nobody else in the shop for most of this). I don't know if he was having a bad day, or what. But I will not be going back, I'm happy to drive 5 more minutes for someone to treat me with a little respect, not continuously chastise me and then getting nasty for no reason. read more

I am not kidding. I have never left a business of any sort feeling so happy as I do leaving this particular Postal Connections. Any business! I don't think shipping things is on anyone's favorite to do list, but they have changed that for me. They always print off a label for me since I can't seem to keep a printer working at my house. They give me the time and options that I need. Plus their vibes are just there. I can't tell you how much it means to me. I live close by which is awesome, but I would drive all the way across town to go here if I moved. Best experience every time. Sending Poshmark packages. Wedding save the dates. Bills. Just recently visited this place because I found out that Bend does not have a real working post office so heads up with that. We spend a day looking for one and finally found postal connections just to find out that Bend doesn't have a post office the guy says the government thinks Bend isn't big enough.....whoa!!! So glad a guy helped me a whole lot, I really need to get his name. Anyways we got a personal mailbox because you can't call it a P.O. Box it will confuse the post office in Portland because that is where the mail goes???? Also got a rubber cup for a souvenir with the word Bend wish they had more things but I shipped my boxes and in 3 days it was at my residence!! Great job postal Connections!! I was actually stunned today when I visited Postal Connections at the south Bend location. Usually, it is a pleasant and friendly place of business. Today, however, the customer service was abhorrent. I have never in my life been treated so rudely. The man behind the desk was very nice at first. There were 3 customers in front of me and I patiently waited for my turn. I had some in memorium cards I designed for an acquaintance's Celebration of Life. I wanted to get a proof of what one card would look like before I had them printed. He printed them out 4 to a sheet and gave them to me. I asked if he could cut just one card so I could see what the card would like size-wise etc. He got mad at me and said "I actually prefer not to do that." I was unsure what he meant and I said, "I am sorry, I don't understand." He ripped my USB drive out of his computer and banged it down on the desk and told me to take my stuff and leave! Thoroughly confused, I said, "I am sorry. I didn't mean to offend you." He said, "Just take your stuff and leave." I took my stuff and I left. I have absolutely no clue why I was treated in this manner. Consider this a zero star review. read more

I had previously utilized this place often and they had been helpful. I always thanked profusely, as I'm not able to print my emails and they were. Lately, they have attitude of uppity unfriendliness and even rude today. I was hopeful that they could print an important email and they could not receive it. The guy behind the counter said that I'm the only person whose email they have a problem receiving (they didn't have that problem in the past). I typically use a shipping and packing service when I have a real specialty item that I don't feel particularly comfortable about packing on my own. Since I moved to Bend, I have always used Postal Connections for these special needs. Recently, I had such a shipment, two items I really didn't want to pack but that needed to be shipped safely and securely. I was happy to see a voucher on Yelp, so I purchased it and dropped in. The employee I met with really did not know what to do with the voucher, but she tried. Ultimately, she was unsucessful. Nevertheless, I was in a hurry, so I mentioned that I would get it figured out in the morning. She apologized and said that she would email me a tracking number for the shipment that evening. The shipping number never arrived. In the morning, I was pleased to see Hoss. He's done excellent work for me in the past, and I explained the situation to him. He told me that they were new with the voucher and got me squared away on it. The package had not been shipped, as I had been led to believe (this is why I never gotten the tracking number), but he explained that he would pack it himself immediately. I had the tracking number before I had walked into work. Even better, my buyer mentioned after he had received his parcel that the shipment was packed very carefully. So while my most recent experience wasn't the best, Hoss made things right, and I walked away happy. And taking into account my previous visits, I will be back. Other Yelpers have mentioned the gifts and other things available in the store. They're nice, and they add a certain je ne sais quoi to the place; but they're not necessary. And I'd be surprised if the owners make much of a return on them. That being said, their packing and customer service are definite keepers. read more

I was so impressed by Postal Connections South today. I had a legal document that I needed help with printing, notarizing and mailing. My printer died, I was on a deadline and I was in a panic. I emailed the document to Drew at Postal Connections late last night and woke to an email from him this morning saying that it was printed and ready for me. I went down, got my document, they notarized it for me and I had it in a Fed Ex envelope and on its way in a matter of a few minutes. I go here once in a while but never thought a lot about it until I had an awesome experience yesterday. Colin was extremely helpful and went way beyond my expectations. Usually people at post offices are in a hurry and not too friendly, but he spent at least 40 minutes with me while simultaneously dealing with other customers (he was the only employee present). I had to ship a record player and he helped me print the label, then modify a box (twice) so it fit the eBay specifications. We also worked for quite a while adding and removing packing materials to make sure the weight was correct, again to match my eBay label specifications. He taped it up for me (didn't try to sell me packing tape), and was very kind though the entire process. Also, I sent it on a Saturday and didn't have to go to the main post office. This place is great, I'm probably giving Colin a review, more than the organization itself, but so be it. I don't know what he gets paid, but this dude should get a raise. Go here. read more

I set up a mailbox for my business with Postal Connections about six months ago and have been so happy with their service. Within a few visits, the staff not only recognized me, but remembered my box number and often had my packages sitting on the counter by the time I got to the back of the store. The staff have been with the company for years, which I think speaks volumes about the owners - and the owners have obviously put some thought into who they hire because the whole crew is incredibly friendly. I have a bookkeeping business that involves mailing thumb drives and data disks back and forth several times per month (in other words - some important, confidential information), and there has never been a problem; I have full faith in their knowledge when I ship important items. They also send me an email as soon as a package arrives, so I don't need to make unnecessary trips to the store to "guess" if my items have arrived. I was also extremely impressed just recently when I missed an email with my quarterly invoice and ended up paying it a few days late - Hoss was happy to give me the benefit of the doubt and waive the late fee. We love this Postal Connections store! Everyone who works here is super friendly and very helpful. We own a small business and are always dropping off our prepaid packages at this store simply to have them picked up by Fedex, UPS, etc. In the past at other postal places, we have been made to feel like we are 'undesired' customers because of the fact that we are just dropping stuff off, but not at this Postal Connections store! They always make us feel welcome and happily take anything we drop off. It's so nice to have a local place that really has that 'neighborhood' feel to it.
