Dropped by Postino Annex on a weekday night and was pleasantly surprised with the fact that there was no wait! Yay! Our party of 2 was seated right away and our server came over and introduced himself to us shortly thereafter. Now in terms of food, of course we had to try the bruschetta. We ended up getting the tomato-mozzarella-basil, the artichoke, the goat cheese and red peppers, and the brie+ apple+fig spread for some savory bites followed by something sweet. All 4 types of bruschetta were really good, but my standouts were definitely the goat cheese + red peppers and the brie+apple+fig spread ones! I have a special place in my heart for goat cheese so anything with goat cheese is usually a winner for me. I was a bit hesitant about the brie, apple, and fig spread combo, but it was deeelicious and really helped us end our meal on a sweet note! We also grabbed the vegetarian panini with the salad on the side. Now, the vegetarian panini portion was INSANE, aka so large that we each ate half of ONE half -- aka a quarter each -- and ended up taking the rest home. The pine nut salad was really yummy and I was glad to chow down on some veggies rather than indulging in more carbs as I usually tend to do! Service was great and we didn't have any issues with getting water refills, boxes, or the bill. Been going recently since it's close on campus and the food is great. The atmosphere is great but it does get a little loud if you do sit at the bar, but that is a given. Solid pick for lunch and I would recommend. If you do get a board I recommend getting the prosciutto and brie and or with the green apple. read more

The bottles and board deal is a great.. however they are always deceitful when it comes to the tip. They charge you 20% on the entire bill instead of your individual tip amount and don't inform you. They have to know about this, especially as it happened to me multiple times- unless management is completely oblivious which I don't think is the case. Also the wait list deal was a little ridiculous, I had two employees tell me different info about getting on the "call ahead" list. Our boards took over an hour- it was bottled and boards so I get it's busy... but an hour for bruschetta boards? The food, wine & atmosphere are always good though. Our server was nice, but claimed he had never heard of the tip overcharge situation.. but they did the same thing when I was there a few months before and I also said something then. read more

I have always had a positive experience at Postino with both an in-dining experience and ordering delivery. I had raved about the bruschetta and shakshouka to a friend and made her a believer and we ended up eating there twice in 24 hours when she came down for a visit. The bruschettas are exceptional and even as I'm not an artichoke fan, that one became one of our surprise favorites. Although mine will always be the sweet and spicy pepper jam with goat cheese. The shakshouka is delicious and something I've craved throughout quarantine. I'm also quite obsessed with the cucumber honey lemonade--can I just get an entire jug of that to go, please? You are missing out if you haven't gone to Postino! They have amazing array of dishes and are greatly priced and you're going to get quite the bang out of your buck! read more

As other reviews mentioned, the bruschetta boards are amazing and a reason to go there, and be back again. I've pretty much tried most of the selection and I have to say they're all pretty amazing for both savory and sweet options. The other menu options are great as well, and the crispy cauliflower is both a sight to see (just a huge cauliflower, all fried) and also one to taste (the crispness extends through the stem). The other thing to mention is the staff, whom on my multiple visits, have always been friendly, pleasant and enthusiastic. In conclusion, just a great place with great food, people and environment. read more

I just had to write a review on the Cucumber Honey Lemonade... if you even remotely like Lemonade, you need to order this drink!! Don't be turned off if you don't like cucumbers. I personally don't like cucumbers and I LOVED this drink. The Cucumber purée is refreshing and makes it less tarty. I also got their regular lemonade and thought it was a little too tarty. After hiking camel back mountain, you kinda earn brunch and drInks, right? I can't believe it but this was actually my first time at a Postino ever! They have a fantastic happy hour and even better food if you're into the snacks vibe. I had the Nine iron panini and it really brought me back to life, cause your girl was struggling. Great casual atmosphere and our waitress was excellent! The food was also fantastic. We were a group of 12 and ordered a variety of items. I have to say, we showed up right at the end of brunch so a few of the items on the brunch menu were not available but they made up for it with the other items and the great customer service. Everything we tried was delicious. Having the manager come out to our table and talking with us about local products and events was even better. Love the vibe here. Interior is great and the outdoor patio is just lovely when the weather is right. Food was on point. The cauliflower starter was phenomenal. Let me start by saying the food was amazing, and the service was good up until the end. The waitress gave us our check and took the plate's at the end of our meal, we asked for one takeout box. The waitress helped me checkout, and I needed help with the tip, once she saw how much I was tipping (which was over 10% of the bill for only 4 people, one bottle of wine), she was done with us. She dropped my card in the table and left us, literally speed walking away. We then waited 10 minutes with her avoiding eye contact and speeding past our table... this was weird, stunning, to us as she was nice to us all night until she she my tip to her. When she walked past again, we tried to stop her and she said "takeout box!" While not even stopping at our table. She then gave us out takeout box.. hope she saw the cash sitting on the table as our party of 4 wanted to tip in cash as well as debit. read more

I think this place is not bad. The best time to go is on Mondays and Tuesdays for the board the bottle special. 4 bruschetta choices and a whole bottle of wine for $20 bucks isn't a bad of a deal. Other than that I think the food here is okay. Not my type but it's good nonetheless. The wine choice is extensive as well. read more

ASTOUNDING!!! we we're in town for a friends birthday and our server COLE made sure to make sure that our night was so special! he was so attentive, incredibly helpful (especially since we're tourists) and he was so professional and provided very fast and efficient service. incredibly personal and really made the experience something that makes me want to come here again the next time we're in town. First of all, as always great food and wine! However we had one of the worst servers I have ever had. First of all about 5 minutes after being seated he greats us, says I'll be back in 35 seconds time me. Ok. My friend actually does, 10 minutes later he returns to get our drink order, laughs off the fact he took so long and also rushed us into ordering food. (We did partially because we didn't know if he would come back) through our time there he made a lot of strange jokes but was never really there when we actually needed service. I don't know if this serving style of his works for other people but it certainly did not work for him. I wish I knew his name but the only thing on the receipt was Italian stallion, which was just further how strange and unprofessional this guy was. read more

This is one of my favorite place when I was studying. Their $5 for pitcher used to be our hot favorite. Finishing our day work at 4pm we would come in here. The location of this postino is very prime, right within campus and campus living. I have tried their bruschetta and panini and they were really good, but a little over priced according to me. The beer which I ordered was great divide collete which I think is originated from Colorado. This is my favorite beer among all they have and guess what it has the highest alcohol limit as well LOL. The beer is light and it has tint of orange. Parking is roadside Their ambience is very good. Definitely a must visit. read more

For sure the best happy hour in town! All wines by the glass and draft beer pitchers are $5 before 5 pm. The Biancavigna Prosecco and Stagedive Pinot Noir are both fabulous. There also is a great reverse happy hour deal on Monday and Tuesday evenings after 8 pm: $25 for a bottle of house wine and order of bruschetta. This location is super nice both inside and outside. The patio is charming and very pleasant when temperatures are mild, and the inside is chic and trendy when looking for a more upscale vibe. I highly recommend trying the Hannah's field salad. It's made with baby kale, dried apricots, toasted almonds, pickled red onions, quinoa, and apple cider-mustard vinaigrette. The salad also usually is prepared with pecorino stagionato cheese, but I omit that ingredient to make it vegan. The paninis also are fantastic and the gluten free bread is actually really good. read more

Postino's is one of my favourite restaurants, I've been to a lot of the locations. This time in particular wasn't that great. The service wasn't as good as it usually is. I ordered a sandwich & salad. The sandwich came out with mayo on it when I asked for none. They made a new one which was great but the server wasn't very attentive & we didn't get refills or checked on very often. I've been told that the servers pool their tips so they all help each other out with refills, busing & expoing but that didn't really go on this time around. We had asked for refills a few times & took extended amount of time to get back to us. We will probably try other locations next time around. read more

Postino Annex sits just next to the glistening Tempe waterfront and on the spirited heart of Arizona State University's campus. The restaurant resides in what used to be the University's art annex building (fun fact: back in the 90's it's where our Co-Founder, Lauren Bailey, attended her ASU art classes). The historic brick building has been transformed to what now offers our guests an expansive patio, open-air bar seating and the perfect seat to watch Tempe's colorful, bustling culture!

Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The most recent was…read moreon a Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. This speakeasy is located on Mill Ave., the center of Tempe's party scene. Because of its location, parking isn't easy. If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.

This was a strong rum drink. Sweet, but strong. Really good though, very interesting flavors.

She was organized, responsive, and made everything feel easy and stress-free leading up to the event and the night of the dinner. The highlight was definitely the Rafter Room -- it was even more impressive in person than in the pictures. The space had a great atmosphere for a rehearsal dinner and made the evening feel really special for our family and guests. It is not your typical steakhouse and you definitely get the feeling that each dish is curated by the chef. The short rib sliders were a little bit dry, but overall had great flavor. For our main course we ordered the New York strip over fried rice and the crab Rangoon Arancini. Both were incredible with great flavors. The strip was a little bit overcooked for my liking. I ordered medium rare and probably got somewhere around medium well. However, because it was served over fried rice and topped with Katsu miso butter it was still delicious. We also ordered the lobster mac & cheese. The lobster mac & cheese had a great flavor, but to be honest, there was too much of it. Sort of a strange critique, but it could easily have served four people and was just too large for only my wife and I. It was very rich, but overall still very good. The service was a little slow. They had one server and a bartender who were running food. It looked like the server was responsible for every table. We arrived at about 5:00 and got out of there around 6:45. I assume that because they are a smaller restaurant, they may just be getting their feet under them in that regard and can see that issue being easily solved by adding another server. That being said the service at the restaurant was extremely friendly and professional. If I was to change a few small things to put this restaurant over the top, it would be the following: 1. Toasted or warmed up buns for the sliders. 2. Faster service. 3. Smaller portions for the lobster Mac or at least have the server inform smaller tables about how large the portions are. Keep in mind that was the only dish that we felt was just a little too much. Overall, I don't think any of these deficiencies are impactful enough to reduce a five star rating to a four star rating. All the food I saw the other tables also looked really delicious. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. Worst case scenario get yourself a bottle of wine. Sit and talk for a little longer if the food takes some time. It might just be because the chef is putting a lot of work into making sure every dish is perfect.

It reminded us of being in Mexico. The table & chairs are really cool too. I wanted to love this place, but the cost of the sangria, sour cream & guacamole are just too high for me to justify coming back.

My friends and I recently visited Postinos Annex and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. After purchasing one 32oz pitcher between the three of us, we were abruptly informed that we would not be served any further due to allegedly appearing intoxicated. This decision seemed unjustified, as we had just walked across College Ave. from our last final exam in college and were simply looking forward to unwinding with a meal and a drink. After mentioning this to management, he completely ignored us and continued to question our group with no apparent reason. Extremely confused and distraught we payed our $12 tab and left. What's more concerning is the manner in which the manager handled the situation. Without giving us the opportunity to explain ourselves, he accused us of slurring our words, despite our clear and coherent conversation. As someone of Swedish descent, and with my friends being from Colombia, I can't help but wonder if our ethnicity played a role in his unjust reasoning. It's disheartening to encounter such blatant discrimination and unprofessional behavior. As customers, we expect to be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of our background. I urge the management of Postinos Annex to address these issues promptly and ensure that all patrons are treated equitably. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Postinos Annex due to the behavior of the staff. read more

Postino Annex on 615 S College Ave, Tempe was a very nice experience and a great place to go for a sophisticated lunch or dinner. The hostess and waiters were really friendly and attentive of the my party of four. The interior of the restaurants create a laid back back and trendy environment. They do have different dining options between sitting outside, inside, and with different types of seating arrangements for example a booth, table or a lounge area. I had a pick 2 option to try both their soup and a half a panini. It was delicious. The soup was nice and warm and the panini had some very tasty bread. The meal was very filling and were good portions to satisfy your hunger. My meal was $11.35 which was worth it for the food and experience I received. They do have gluten free bruschetta, with a $2 surcharge! I know it can be difficult to find gluten free items on the menu, but it is an option at Postino! I rode my bike to the location as I live on the ASU campus. However there are parking options for those who drive. It is located in a great location and a young neighborhood. It is close to Mill Ave and shopping centers. I would not recommend a family with small children coming here because it is almost like a wine bar and does not offer a kids menu. Waitress was kind, the manager however had an attitude, and was wearing an AirPod while having a conversation with me. There was an issue with a temporary ID not being accepted, which is understandable, just quite disappointing while seeing a table near us not get ID'd. To me it seemed ironic that a group of white female college students not get ID'd, but a Interracial gay couple trying to have a date night couldn't have the same courtesy of taking an ADOT temporary ID. At the end of our meal, we wanted to ensure that the waitress was tipped at 22%, since she shouldn't suffer at the expense of an unprofessional manager. Though, we were unaware that we were tipping based on the pre-discount price instead of the board and bottle prices, so that tip was over 30$ compared to the true 22% at 15$. We asked for the manager and she came to our booth and sat in the booth as if we were friends, with the mobile POS in her hand as if they have this issue often. She was able to adjust the tip amount, but quite honestly very displeasing and disappointing as we come to postinos often at the downtown location! Definitely suggest taking your business to a different location, so you don't have to deal with inconsistent customer service! read more

I was excited to go to Postino tonight because I had been to the Gilbert location and really liked it, but my experience in Tempe fell short. I was with a very large group on the patio. People were moving around so unsurprisingly there was confusion. Drink orders went unfilled. This was understandable and not a huge deal. The real problem came when I tried to pay my bill. It had started to rain so we stood under the umbrellas. People were still ordering drinks so it seemed obvious the group wasn't leaving, but I wanted to leave early. I asked for my check and listed the items I had ordered. She came back with it and informed me that there was still $180 owed by the group. I told her that I didn't think they were leaving just yet. I gave her my card. When she came back with the receipt she also handed me a bill for the rest of the items for the group and asked what I wanted to do about it. I found this very rude. Her attitude through this was not friendly. I had paid for my orders and she was hassling me personally about everyone else's orders after being told they weren't leaving. Hopefully the rude server was a fluke. Everything else was decent. read more

I went there today, and by the time I had eaten everything and they brought the 16$ bill, I gave them my Discover credit card to pay, at which point they told me they don't accept discover. Unfortunately, I had no other cards or cash on me. The waitress who had been serving me the food apologized and told me I could go for free but to please remember the next time. Then, a second waitress came by, saw my Discover card on the bill, and told me again they couldn't accept it. I told her what her colleague had told me. She looked puzzled and said she would be back with the manager. The manager came, apologized, and asked me again if I could pay with another mean of payment. I told him I can't, to which he said I should get a cash advance on my credit card (which is systematically subject to high interest rate). I told him I can't do that so he added "I guess we will have to get you in free then" but he stayed there, looking at me. He added again "maybe you can come back another day to pay off that debt though?". All this for a 16$ bill and their responsibility in not accepting my card which was working perfectly fine. Postino offers an inviting and beautiful atmosphere with a prime location. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. We were immediately seated outside, where the shaded patio and cooling misters made for a comfortable experience, even in the heat. The ambiance is just perfect, with a laid-back yet refined vibe. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and they offer $6 glasses of wine until 5 PM--even on weekends! Nicole, our server, was outstanding--friendly, upbeat, and attentive. She greeted us within minutes and provided excellent recommendations, including the soup of the day. Her energy was a highlight, especially compared to the last place we visited (Pedal Haus), where the service wasn't quite as memorable. Nicole really elevated the entire experience. I ordered an espresso martini, which was fantastic, followed by a Ca' del Sarto Pinot Grigio, which was also great. Hands down, this was my best restaurant experience in Tempe so far. While I've enjoyed other spots in the area, Postino stands out for its stellar service, delicious drinks, and overall ambiance. Highly recommend! read more

We love to go to Postino's Annex. Patio is really cute and awesome to sit out on. Food is simple but great and usually on point. If you go before 5 their Happy hour on drinks totally make it worth it, usually when we go. The only thing I am not fond of is their service. Sometimes it's great and sometimes it's awful. I believe they do some sort of group service, where you don't have one person taking care of you, but everyone. Great in theory, but the actual practice usually sucks. You are either overwaited on or underwaited on. There are a few people there that are great servers and really help you out, but usually it's the "like 5 people help you in 5 minutes, or no one helps you for 30" type of things. Either better communication needs to go down, or they just assign one server to a table. Of course team work can still apply, but at least you know who's helping you and they know what's going on with you. They deserve 4 stars, maybe even 5, depending on what your in hte mood for, but the service has been awful so many times that I had to give them a 3. read more

I had the pleasure of being served by Nikki during my recent visit to your restaurant, and I must say, she was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we sat down, Nikki greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. She was incredibly attentive throughout the meal, ensuring that our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. What really stood out to me was how knowledgeable Nikki was about the menu. She was able to answer all of our questions and even provided recommendations based on our preferences. Her suggestions were spot-on, and we were blown away by how delicious everything tasted. Nikki's friendly and personable demeanor really made our dining experience one to remember. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, and we truly appreciated her efforts. My sister, my two nieces and myself ate at Postino's near the college. Let me tell you about our amazing server KENNEDY.... my niece has a very severe nut allergy to where my sister has to ask in detail, about ingredients, cross contamination etc. She went ABOVE and beyond to get all of our questions answered, she checked EVERYTHING to make sure my niece was safe. Not once getting frustrated, at all the questions. Most patient and compassionate human being I have ran into in a very long time! I wish I got the managers name as well, she was amazing to, even calling to a bakery outside of the restaurant they use to get ingredient details!!!!!!! I hope the higher ups see this review & acknowledge these two ladies somehow! I was visiting from New Mexico and I now have an amazing story to tell for a long time.
