The Barbacoa Melt is my go-to and it's delicious every. single. time. It's braised beef with chimichurri, pickled onions, and cotija and jack cheeses. It comes with regular fries or truffle - both are delicious, but go with the truffle if you like it. I appreciate that, when ordering in UberEats, they have options to remove the fries and beverage, and it decreases your total. I don't think I've seen that before. I've never been inside the restaurant, so I can't provide feedback on the service or ambiance. What I can say is that my order is always correct and delicious. read more

Oh toasted! I love you so much. I've been going since 2018 and 95% of the time, my food is spectacular. Occasionally, the sandwich or fries will be a bit too cooked, but the consistency overall matters and usually, it's amazing. The cheeses are always spectacular. My favorite fry is shoestring so I love their fries! I've also taken a friend who can't eat dairy and he was so happy to have a unique item alongside me without suffering. The flavors were very good, it was a nice balance of sweet from the figs and honey and savory from the goat cheese and the flavor of basil fit in there quite well. However, for an $8 grilled cheese, I was surprised it was not a bit heftier. I also did a side of the tomato soup. Know that they have the tangier, more acidic type of tomato soup. I've heard of this place from others and had to try it out. I love grilled cheese sandwiches and the concept of this place is great. Their sandwich ideas are yummy and it seems to be moderately priced. However, they seem to be struggling with finding a good cook. Hubby and I tried 3 different sandwiches and they were all burnt. The outside shouldn't have any black on it. Honestly, if the sandwiches were cooked the right amount then I think I would have given them 5 stars. Should have gotten photos of the other ones. The girl at the front was patient with us trying to figure out which ones we wanted to try and she gave us her recommendations. What was in the sandwiches was good, it was just offset by the overly cooked bread. I'll probably try this place again in the hopes that they have improved their cooking timing. read more

Toasted has amazing sandwiches. It is one of my go-to's for lunch near the UCF campus. My favorite two sandwiches are the braised brisket sandwich and the buffalo chicken sandwich. As a college student I would probably be in love with this "fancy" grilled cheese shop but as a sober adult it was just okay. I had the pesto chicken and the grilled cheese part of the sandwich was fine but the chicken tasted like a frozen piece of chewy meat. My wife had the brisket grilled cheese and it was much better. He ordered the grilled cheese than came with macaroni. Again, macaroni... every "kid" loves it. He said it was delicious and it looked tasty. So I've been to toasted before when I first moved in the area; I got the vegan roasted veggie grilled cheese and fries but don't remember it much. Today I got the vegan bella and truffle fries.....I LOVED the truffle fries. I ordered with DoorDash and it wouldn't let me change the patty to impossible so I got their vegan patty, which has a nice taste but I don't like the chucks of veggies or that it falls apart. The cheese taste good but don't like the fact it's liquid like cheese sauce instead of a slice on the hamburger....obviously makes since in a grilled cheese though lol over all I'll definitely go back to try more of their vegan options since the prices aren't that bad :) read more

I got the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese, which had a good flavor but the chicken was a little on the tough side and made biting a piece off difficult. It would probably benefit from a slow cooker to really get it to fall apart. The bread was simple white bread, toasted very nicely and the cheese had a good flavor. And that was it. The plate it came out looked so empty. Not really big enough for a full satisfying meal. If they threw a handful of chips or fries on the plate I'd prob bump it up to 4/5 stars.. There's Brett's much only 2 sections to the menu. Grilled cheese....& burgers (sure there is a "sides" Menu......but it's minimal at best). At its heart, it's a grilled cheese sandwich shop. This was my second trip here and it was tasty. The restaurant has a unique vibe....there is seating area and a walk up counter to order.....all the kitchen magic is out of sight.....which is fine.....nothing glamorous abt making grilled cheese. You order at the counter, are given a table card, then go find a seat.....they bring it out to you. I ordered the Barbacoa grilled cheese. Mixed cheeses, beef, mixed up with a rather nice blend. It walked the line between sweet and savory. This was an excellent choice. My lunch mate ordered the buffalo chicken and he said he enjoyed it. Here's my one gripe with this place......NEED SOME MORE SIDES! I really feel like the meal Is incomplete with out something with it. They do offer fries, Mac/cheese, & tomato soup ......which admittedly are traditional sides for a grilled cheese.....but there is nothing "wow" abt the side options. I ordered the Vegan Fireball, which has vegan cheddar cheese, tomato, jalapeño, & Sriracha on the most perfectly toasted bread. The cheese was ooey & gooey. The tomato & jalapeño added a nice, freshness to the sandwich. Although, I would've preferred the jalapeño was diced instead of sliced, so it was distributed throughout the sandwich more evenly. The Sriracha was the icing on the cake. Between the jalapeño & Sriracha, my nose was running and my eyes were watering. It was a heavenly, spicy dream. My sister ordered the Pesto Chicken, which has dairy mozzarella, pulled chicken, pesto, tomato chutney, & arugula. She loved her sandwich, and was even eyeballing mine. Apparently they have some other locations but this was my first time visiting any of them! I chose the As Gouda As It Gets sandwich and boy did it live up to its name! The bread was toasted just right (for the name of the place, in glad they got it right). It was filled with pulled chicken, garlic spinach, red peppers and of course smoked gouda. That crunch with the melty cheese- yum! I was happy to know that all of the cheeses are pasteurized too. Fries are served as a separate side and they are a very good size you could share. My love of grilled cheese brought me to Toasted to see what spins they were putting on a classic grilled cheese sandwich. Overall a good experience, but I am going to be picky because I expect better when you specialize on and market yourself on a specific item. The Braised Brisket & fontina grilled cheese sandwich was very tasty, but more of a brisket sandwich with cheese instead of the anticipated grilled cheese with brisket (less cheese than brisket = not grilled cheese). The Viva La Vegan received an average grade from my staff vegan. The Mac & Cheese is a standout dish not to be missed, very creamy. Conversely the Roasted Tomato Soup tasted more house mixed than house made and was not nearly as creamy as it should be. As always, I am not a fan of take-out style ordering lines for a more upscale sit down restaurant, but at least they bring your order to the table. Fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches. I had the "fig & goat" which had goat cheese, basil, and fig jam. Yum - salty, cheesy, and a hint of sweet! My dining companion had the impossible burger ("very very good") and described it as a little thicker than most impossible burgers, and the tomatoes were crazy fresh.
