Potheads is such a cute brunch place. They have a small seating area. The service was very fast and our server was very sweet and friendly. We tried their veggie burrito, iced latte, hot latte and some eggs with bread. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. This is a must visit place for a chill inexpensive casual brunch.
Made it here randomly for happy hour on a Tuesday afternoon. It seemed like the busiest place on the beach strip. Pros: - discounted fish tacos and 2x1 cocktails during happy hour. Fish tacos were delicious - plenty of open air seating - board games and Jenga available to play - prompt drinks upon ordering Notes: - bathroom is down the stairs in the back garden. Accessibility wise I noticed a few people struggling with that - just something to be mindful of - food came out after 40min. We had both finished our first round of cocktails already at that point - Not a fan of the veggie sandwich which was mostly cucumbers, spinach and a cream cheese, which in hindsight was definitely not worth the wait or the price
Great vibes, food and staff here. I really should say family though. I make sure to go anytime I'm in town and tell everyone I know to come here. They are so sweet and accommodating everytime no matter how big my party is. Great aesthetics for pictures and even better food. Thank you for treating me like family and welcoming me everytime
Delicious, but ridiculously expensive and nonchalant service - where you had to wave them down to get seated, wave them down to order, wave them down for the check. Atmosphere is and decor was cool though. I really enjoyed the wet burrito, it's not spicy! Even though it was wet, it wasn't soggy. Flavor came through well. The smoothie bowl was delicious - we tried the mermaid bowl. Parking is scarce if you're not already in the area. We paid overpriced parking (200 pesos -11 usd for the day) to eat and lay out on the beach. So for two burritos, and a smoothie bowl... $57 dollars including tip. How? Not sure. Tulum town was cheaper.
Delicious inexpensive brunch! I walked here from my hotel about a half a mile up the road. I found this cute spot that offered healthy options including smoothies, healthy shots, smoothie bowls and other breakfast food. I came here several times during my stay and they have free wireless as well. I got the mango smoothie bowl and the matcha bowl. Both were very good and filling. The portions they give you are big as well. They have breakfast all day too and the seating options are huge. Indoor and outdoor seating.
I came by Potheads with a group of friends during our spring break trip. I ordered the salmon bagel (yes even in Mexico but I was craving one lol). The bagel was strangely giving croissant but it was a bagel. It was super yummy though - the sandwich was packed with salmon I kept having to reconstruct the sandwich because it kept falling out. I also appreciated that they didn't put a brick of cream cheese in it like they do in New York. The service was alright. I think the waiters were eavesdropping on our conversation because we were discussing doing an ATV tour and then they came up to us and told us they knew a guy lmao. Overall yummy and reasonably priced.
This review is very dated but I'd love to return when I'm back just in Tulum. We stumbled in here after searching for breakfast before we took a ride to PDC. the vibe is the best, it made me want to eat outside the whole day. The menu didn't sound like what I had in mind but both meals were delishhhhh. I had some kind of juice but don't remember. Our server was very kind and made sure we enjoyed our experience.
I Should've Ordered Two! I enjoyed their Tropical Storm juice (passion fruit, orange and pineapple) and their breakfast sandwich (fried egg, cheddar cheese, avocado and tomato on multi-grain toast) Such a good way to start your day in Tulum, breakfast at @potheadstulum on IG. Fresh food and cool spot with good vibes. When in Tulum go to Potheads!
Nice outdoor atmosphere about 1 block away from the beach. I purchased an egg white veggie omelette with potatoes and toast. It was more like fried egg whites with vegetables. It was very delicious, Also purchased their turmeric ginger pineapple shot twice. It was amazing. I had an espresso macchiato. It was average. Five star for having raw juice. 5 star for food. 3 star for coffee.

Really enjoyed my breakfast burrito here and coffee. My boyfriend liked his breakfast and fresh orange juice as well. The only problem was the time it took to get our orders. So if you're looking for a quick bite to eat, this probably is not the place to stop. Otherwise, a great place for breakfast if you have the time to chill. The have games like Connect Four and lovely decor to keep you entertained. read more

This place is so cool! It has WiFi, a place to charge your phone and cool things to do (coloring, connect 4 & cards) My boyfriend had a really funny moment though-- he went to grab the colored pencils to color when a guy came in with his son. My boyfriend was so adamant on giving it to him so his son can color when he says "it's okay, I own this place." HAHA! The owner was super cool. It's great to see him and his family enjoy his own spot. Now to the food- breakfast was AMAZING! I enjoyed every bit of my breakfast burrito. Drinks were delicious. Ordered a mimosa and a meximosa (2 different things, both great taste) We even ordered smoothies to go! Very great atmosphere. Will definitely eat here again :) read more

The food was good. It was more like an american breakfast. The avocado toast plate was filling. The coffee was not the best very watered down. The potatoes weren't good at all very old and dry. The seating was very nice. read more

This place is amazing! Just came here on our last stop before heading back to the airport and tried the kombucha, cold coconut (yum), & the coco loco. So delicious! Beautiful place with board games, good music, and nice garden area. Really friendly, warm, prompt service. Highly recommend for fresh drinks/kombucha/brunch. We'll be back next time! read more

What do you except from breakfast food? This is just fine. Great coffee and juice. As many as eggs and pancakes as you want at about 1/3 or the price of the hotel we were staying at. This was better and way cheaper than my breakfast at papaya playa yesterday. Be back tomorrow. Nothing to complain about. Need breakfast=come here. read more
Super cute smoothie hut in one of the main shopping parts of Tulum. My husband and I stopped here while exploring the area on a hot day to cool off with a fresh juice smoothie. We had already eaten so we didn't stick around for food but their breakfast menu looked delicious and the place was packed which was a good sign. We got leery of the spots that didn't have many people because you never know what the food quality is going to be like especially in a foreign country with water issues. Highly recommend this cute spot if you're walking around and want a cool treat. read more

Our preferred breakfast/brunch locale in Tulum! We came here twice for a morning meal over a week's stay. Each time we were greeted by their friendly host/server and escorted to a table. Like the vast majority of Tulum, both the cooking and dining areas are open air, creating that relaxed, come-as-you-are kind've vibe. With a menu that includes all the classic brunch faves, the food is delish. From the breakfast burrito (normally comes with bacon, but you can ask to substitute chorizo), the avocado smash toast, to even the eggs Benedict, you will not be disappointed with the presentation, quality, or portion of your breakfast. Even the fresh fruit and iced coffee were on point. Prices are semi-steep, but not dissimilar from other eateries located along Tulum's beach front. Definitely worth stopping in! read more

Spotted this little joint out across the road from our hotel and decided to have breakfast there. Nice little decor/theme. I had the Mexican egg in the pot. It's a tortilla with an egg on top and chorizo and mushrooms laid over it. Served with a side of home fries and toasts. It was very unique and delicious. The chorizo wasn't too salty. It went pretty darn well with the oozing egg yolk. Breakfast of a champ! Overall experienced, great little breakfast joint. Friendly staffs and affordable prices where they won't sneak in "tip" and try to bargain for more. read more

Doesn't look much when you walk past it but this place is a gem! Had breakfast here multiple times during our stay in Tulum! Hue is rancheros and delicious. The breakfast burrito comes with hot sauce which perfects the fish. Their drink menu is amazing as far as freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, and cappuccino. Service is great, we always ate early so the place was not too crowded. It's located on the street perfect for locals watching. Cute vibe inside with games and modern music. Love their coffee pot head shirts. Highly recommend!!! read more

If you are a fan of breakfast and even more so breakfast burritos, look no further than Tunich! My wife and I are foodies and on our honeymoon in Tulum, and can't recommend this place enough. From their delicious coffees to their top notch service to their more than reasonable prices, this is the supreme brunch spot in all of Tulum. Everything on the menu looks delicious but I'd be lying if I tried it all because every time we went I ordered the same thing: the breakfast burrito! Best I've ever had and I've lived LA for ten years and have been to Austin Texas many a times. My wife had the famous chilaquiles one day and the Mexican eggs in a pot the second! Both delicious. She loved the green sauce and I loved the red! So there you have it, don't waist your time searching the other spots for breakfast just go to Tunich! Because if you don't, I will find you. I have a set of skills if you catch my drift. read more

I hate paying for horrible food, and that was the case for Tunich. The food was tasteless, the French toast was all soaked up without any flavor. The coffee was bland. And the burrito was eatable with enough habanero sauce. I don't understand all the great reviews, this was our worst meal in tulum. Sabe you money and appetite. The service was good. Btw, you need to pay for parking as well. read more

Love this breakfast spot. Low cost, really good, and you get a lot of food. I loved both types of French toast, my wife loved the omelets. Coffee is great and opens earlier than most places at 7:00 (we are early risers). Too notes to be cautious, take cash(dollars or pesos) and you might need mosquito spray(they have some you can use and they also use copal in scenes to help). Right across from public beach access, ATM, bike rental, shopping, etc read more
Restaurant Tunich is quite typical for the outdoor cafés you'll find along the sandy beach road in Tulum. Restaurant Tunich is located at km 5.5 on the beach road in Tulum's resort zone (not to be confused with Tulum Pueblo, a few miles and worlds of charm away). Like many businesses in the Caribbean, Restaurant Tunich is owned by snowbirds; these a couple from Toronto who are enjoying their new life in the sun and sand. We enjoyed the coffees and had a delicious breakfast as well. The coffee is organic, the hosts are helpful and you may also get a very favorable exchange rate for your $USD. Remember to bring bug spray, or ask, if you come here. Even though the beach is a few hundred yards away, you'll barely get a breeze here to keep the mosquitos away. read more

Opened mid-2015 by a couple from Toronto who decided they wanted to leave their corporate jobs behind and bring their family to a more relaxed environment to open a small business. The owner is a kind and charismatic man with a half sleeve of tattoos who is excited to share his experience and the challenges of running a restaurant in Tulum -- and share delicious food with you. We had great STRONG coffee (double espresso over ice and almond milk, hooray!) and chocolate super bowls with fruit and chia that were "pricey" for Tulum ($9 USD each) but very substantial portions. We skipped the kombucha but apparently it's great! Cash only, they accept USD and Pesos. Serving brunch all day Highly recommend! read more
