Potliquor helped cater our rehearsal dinner and wedding near Mendocino in August 2023 and they were absolutely incredible. Everything they made was delicious and all our guests raved about it for weeks! We wanted to serve food from a variety of different Asian cuisines and they were extremely open and receptive to our ideas even helping us cook up a Kamayan feast (with suckling pig!). Brittany and her team helped scour multiple bakeries to find the durian cake of our dreams and Chef Richie made the most delicious ramen for our late night snack menu at our wedding. Additionally Brittany has experience working as a pastry chef and went above and beyond helping us transport our fragile wedding cakes for an extremely windy 4 - 5 hour drive up Highway 1. Potliquor is truly a cut above the rest, the creme de la creme. We loved that they are passionate about fair labor practices. Laura and her team took such care in helping us craft the meal to blend our Italian and Californian backgrounds and were very patient with us with all our changes and additions along the way. Potliquor catered our wedding at Stable Cafe in August 2021 and I hardly know where to begin in expressing how phenomenal of a job they did. We wanted the dinner to feel like we were throwing a dinner party for our friends and family at a favorite restaurant. And we wanted the food to be delicious and interesting and to generally reflect what's great about eating in Northern California in the summer. We were looking for a caterer that, like a great restaurant, had their own strong culinary vision and that we could trust to create a great meal rooted in their own style and sensibilities. TLDR on this review is that Potliquor is exactly that and so much more: incredible culinary visionaries; incredible cooks; lovely people, and a team that is damn good at the many, difficult, logistical aspects of planning and executing a gorgeous event. We had an initial call with Laura and Jennifer to discuss the budget, food preferences (what do we like to eat? is there anything we'd especially love to have on the menu?), and the venue details. We were really excited while talking to them and knew right away we had found our caterer. We followed up with a frantic list of other foods and themes we had forgotten to tell them we cared about (wild flowers! mushrooms! Jewish roots! Polish roots! biology!); I have no idea how they harnessed these stream of conscious ideas into a menu proposal, but they did and we loved it. The menu felt so personal - thoughtful and creative ideas that reflected our story and tastes. Having a custom menu created for us was easily our favorite part of wedding planning. Then we did a tasting a month before the event which was *also* our favorite part of wedding planning It was SO much fun to meet Laura and Naseem and collectively decide on a few tweaks to the menu, and of course, the food we tasted was delicious. Dinner at our wedding far exceeded our wildly high expectations. Our guests freaked out about it and so did we. We are all, still freaking out about it. Everyone says that you never get a chance to eat at your wedding but that was definitely not the case for us - we ate everything and it was so much fun. In keeping with the dinner party atmosphere, they served family style dishes that guests could share and enjoy together. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Stable Cafe, where we hosted the wedding, has a wood burning fireplace, which Potliquor used to cook a delicious roasted vegetable and fava bean dish - it was impressive and very cool to use the unique cooking setup at the venue. Other highlights included the most delightful selection of breads; a stunning salad of locally sourced or foraged greens and flower; the fried maitake and vegetable appetizer that my mom talks about every single time we've talked on the phone for the last 3 months post-wedding; and definitely the roasted sea bass with red chermoula ---- a beautiful and unique dish and one of the best fish dishes we've had. One other important note is that working with the Potliquor team was straightforward from start to finish - everyone we worked with was so helpful and friendly. I worked most closely with Laura who is completely on top of everything. Especially when things got a bit stressful towards the end of our extremely compressed planning timeline, I so appreciated her quick communication and attention to detail, and found myself trusting her judgement not just on aesthetic and culinary decisions but also about the many practical questions that arose. And the entire food and drink serving staff was delightful at the party. I didn't realize how integral the catering team would be from a planning perspective and feel that we really lucked out that they are so fantastic on the service & logistics end too. I recently helped a close friend plan her wedding up near Mendocino. When we set out to find a caterer for the wedding we never thought we'd find a team who would be so amazing (and fun) to work with and also just absolutely nail the food. Potliquor's owners (and chefs) Laura and Jennifer and their team are amazing. They were incredibly flexible as we worked through menu options and how to keep costs under control leading up to the wedding. The tastings were an experience in their own - great food in their beautiful kitchen. They were responsive to requests for allergy alterations (not kidding, we asked them to accommodate: dairy free, gluten free, almond free, mustard free, celery free, and vegetarian options) The wedding was in a remote location with pretty minimal facilities. Laura and Jennifer rolled with the situation incredibly well, making due with a single sink, a grill and a gas stove. Their team literally did all of the prep work in a barn. And they did it all with smiles and excitement. One of our guests used to cook at Chez Panisse and she wrote an email after the wedding saying the food was "exceptional". And a number of guests commented that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We agree wholeheartedly. The food was delicious and also beautifully presented. Her food is phenomenal, and her calm demeanor and friendly personality really helped me step back and enjoy being a non-chaotic bride! Jennifer worked with our budget and our wish to host a filling vegetarian meal. I found out about Jennifer because her name was mentioned on a wedding blog covering a wedding up in Mendocino at the same venue where I was going to be married. I sought her out and we set up an in-person meeting at a wine bar. The conversation went well and my fiance and I were very interested in her ideas; the food all sounded fantastic and I liked the emphasis on fresh, organic ingredients. During this time, we all ordered glasses of wine and shared a cheese plate. We were wrapping up when Jennifer stood and sort of abruptly said goodbye and left. We only realized a few minutes later when the bill came that she had left us to pay the tab! I couldn't believe how awkward it was that she would expect us to pay for her ($14?) glass of wine and food that she shared with us during a business meeting. We got a thank you from her for the wine and cheese the next day via email, but we are still not sure why she thought we were intending to host her. All in all, an awkward social interaction. The estimate for our wedding came back a couple days later at about double our budget, so we declined for that reason. Jennifer is amazing. She catered our (130-ish person) wedding at Ambiance Antiques this year, and knocked it completely out of the park. Like other Yelpers, I got a Yelp account to write this review, because she's that good. Let's start with food. Jennifer spent a few hours with us when we first met, getting to know who we were and what kind of stuff we like to eat. We're super-into travel and love comfort food of any kind, so she put together a menu that reflected that really well. And...the details, man, the details. Delicious rice noodles with scallions? Awesome. But she put them in little cardboard containers, like Chinese take-out. Transcendent. Little glass jars of crusty mac n' cheese. Hand pies with bacon *and* pork chops inside. Her food is delicious, playful, and fit in perfectly with what we were doing. And...we were a little odd. No sit-down dinner, at a funky venue (Ambiance Antiques), with some odd dietary restrictions for a few people. She handle them all perfectly, figuring out the best ways to pass all the food around, and putting together special plates for those who needed them. For our dessert, she built us a donut tower. A TOWER OF DONUTS. It was beyond epic. On top of that, the staff she brought along were efficient, professional, and super-friendly (having people smiling on your wedding day is a huge plus). The bar folks were great. We got raves from our friends about every aspect of it. My socks don't knock off that easily, but they were really hard to find after our wedding. Jennifer catered light hors d'oeuvres for my small wedding ceremony at Sutro Heights Park. She handled everything like a pro from our first phone call to throughout our big day. Throughout the whole process she was very quick to offer suggestions on the menu, budgeting, and other accoutrements needed for the serving at an outdoor venue. She graciously accommodated my last minute addition to the menu and offered a mouth-watering array of small bites that my guests raved about. Frankly, the simple fact that we are writing a review on Yelp is testament in itself to how thrilled we were by the catering services Jennifer Lynch provided at our recent wedding. Neither of us is on facebook, tweeter, yelp, or any of the online networking things. We're not mad at them, but they're just not our style. Jennifer Lynch, however, absolutely thrilled us, our families, and every last one of our guests with the dinner she served. As a result of how extraordinarily pleased we were, we would happily hire the Goodyear blimp or some skywriters to help promote Jennifer and her catering services. Writing this glowing review on Yelp seems a entirely insufficient way to publicize our unmitigated enthusiasm for Jennifer, her food, and her staff. First: Jennifer is a pleasure to work with. She is friendly, enthusiastic, and hard working. She listened with an open mind to our culinary preferences, and in just a matter of days, sent us a preliminary menu that was simply perfect. She hosted us for a tasting that solidified our already strong commitment to her. The venue we selected has a number of unusual demands with which caterers must comply, and Jennifer jumped through all the hoops with no worries at all. And during the stressful days leading up to the wedding, she was calm, collected, and perfectly attentive to all the tiny details that pop up right and left. Second: The food was superlative in every way. Every one of the guests said some version of this: "That was the best food I've ever had at a wedding." We would disagree with all of them on this one count, qualifying Jennifer's dinner as "excellent wedding food" is woefully understating the matter. The dinner she and her staff prepared was among the best dinners we've eaten. Period. Suffice to say: The food (passed appetizers and family style dinner for 160 people) was ridiculously tasty. We loved every bite, the presentation, and the generous quantities. She even had a plate of food and two glasses of champagne waiting for us in the room to which we returned after the ceremony. Third: Her staff was ideal. Professional, helpful, fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. Fourth: Jennifer did all of that--she helped make our wedding as wonderful as we could have possibly wished--and she did it on a budget that other vendors said was way too small. That is a long winded way of saying: If you want cookie cutter cuisine from an impersonal caterer at asinine prices, hire some other caterer. I highly recommend JenniferLunch catering! Not only is Jennifer a supreme chef, but she's also a sweet, down-to-earth AND responsible person who will work with you to create the vibe that YOU want. She's an absolute delight to work with and she makes some really yummy food. We wanted a funky garden wedding with mostly hors d'oeuvres. We were on a budget and honestly had no idea how much catering for 110 would cost or should cost. Most of the companies we contacted didn't understand our style, or tried to force their ideas (and new expenses) onto our wedding- and this was all in just the bidding process. Weddings are about what YOU want, but if you haven't planned a wedding before, it's hard to know if you can even GET what you want. Sometimes you get overwhelmed and pressured by vendors to do what THEY want you to do. Jennifer immediately GOT what we wanted and was not at all judgmental about our budget, or rude about our novice questions. She was very willing to add and subtract items on the estimate and proactively revised little details. She also worked hard to keep our costs low, but without sacrificing the quality. She also meets all her potential clients in person which is really great. Working with Jennifer was the least stressful of all my wedding preparations. I felt I could trust her as if I was working with a friend. Jennifer had another wedding to work on our wedding day, but she still organized and prepped everything for our event. We were very lucky to work with Laura, Jennifer's partner. Laura is another person you can trust to manage a great event and she has such a warm energy and a great work ethic. they both worked hard to create the wedding we wanted and easily adapted for gluten and dairy allergies. After I read so many great things about Jennifer on Yelp, I was really looking forward to hire her to cater my wedding. I had one meeting with her where we talked about just about everything and she seemed very thoughtful and responsible. I left the meeting feeling pretty good, and she told me that she would be sending a menu over within a week. Well, that was over a month ago and I have not heard one word from her, no phone call, no email-nothing. I still can't believe she never contacted me, how unprofessional! We wanted simple picnic-style dishes that would go well with a sweet mead that my husband and I both love. There aren't enough words to explain how amazing Jennifer is. On our first call instead of asking the basic catering questions that everyone else asked (do you want meat, do you want spicy, etc), she asked us a few words that described our wedding. It was such an awesome way to go into it and she plans each menu for the couple/event based on who they are and what the event was about. We said comfortable, earthy/natural, and exciting as we're from the east coast and many family members were out here for the first time. We only had 70 people at the Stable Cafe so wanted it to be a really intimate meal. She set up a family style meal that was the BEST food on earth. Seriously just incredible. We did lamb meatballs and scallop with smashed pea on a potato crisp (I know, but DELICIOUS), she made crudite in mason jars and tea sandwiches for our bus trip around the city, and then dinner was beyond 10 stars. Everyone at the wedding came up to us and told us it was not only the best wedding food they'd ever had, but also one of the best meals they'd ever had! Organic/local was important to us and all of the meat and veggies were perfectly selected from great farms near by that she'd worked with in the past. The menu evolved based on what was in season (which I loved) and the highlight of the meal was a bread salad (which I originally was skeptical of because of the name, but is now my favorite meal). Slices of sourdough toasted and oiled mixed in with roasted chicken, artichokes, mushrooms, I could go on forever. She also cooked all of the veggies and chicken in a wood stove that they had at the restaurant- HOW COOL is that!. The bavette steak was also out of this world. We only hired one vendor for the whole event and paid for Jennifer and her crew's travel and overnight accommodations, and it was worth every penny. We had 30 people for a family style meal. Before the wedding: Since we were planning from the east coast, we only had one visit five months before the wedding to get it right. Jennifer put us at ease immediately and we basically hired her on the spot after interviewing other caterers we just did not click with. I had seen a review in a wedding blog that said, "do not let the simple website fool you" and I agree. We did not get a tasting, but knew that whoever we hired that this would be the case. Jennifer was excited by that! Jennifer is very passionate about food, and it shows. She was also responsible and professional. We always received quick responses to emails, and scheduled one conference call during the planning to review the menu. She also handled everything with the rental company, which was super helpful for us since we were far away. She asked our opinion when she wasn't sure about a particular detail, but other times just went with her gut because she understood what vibe we were going for. She has excellent taste, so we trusted her and it worked out very well. During the wedding: The day we checked into the rental location (a private house), they let us know that there would be utility work and the power would be off until 3pm. We gave Jennifer the heads up, and she figured out how to make everything using the grill as a back-up plan. When she arrived with her friendly staff around 3, they got right to work, even though the power had not turned on. They made our entire meal on the grill! With headlamps! Biscuits on the grill! I was amazed, but it didn't faze her one bit. She was calm. Even when it started to rain and we had to move the dinner inside (people, chairs and tables), she took charge and made it happen. Her staff worked with headlamps on, and it was awesome. The power returned at 8:45pm, so everything but clean-up happened in the dark. The food was amazing! Very much made with love. She was flexible enough to keep the same menu and figure out how to make everything only using gas...still blows my mind. My guests all commented how tasty the food was and how sweet and calm Jennifer was. I could tell the plating was beautiful, especially the crab louie, but it was difficult to see with the flashlights and candles. If I had made the meal, in the dark, I would not have worried about presentation, but Jennifer still kept the same high presentation standards. We also liked that she was willing and happy to spend a minute just before serving the meal to tell everyone what was coming. We did that instead of making menu cards for a personal touch, and it worked out well. Another small detail that we really appreciated: We had cupcakes instead of cake (which she picked up from the bakery in San Francisco for us on the day of the wedding). The guests were putting the wrappers on the counter after eating the cupcake. She saw a few of these, grabbed a fancy dish, then put the wrappers and the dish on the counter as if that were on purpose. We booked Potliquor for our wedding, and it was the best decision! Laura and Jennifer are the sweetest to work with, and they created some of the best food we've had. We tasted at several caterers before deciding to go with Potliquor, but they won us over not only with their delicious food, but also their ability to showcase the local bounty in their beautiful presentations. Their style reflected our personalities, and our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Laura and Jennifer were also so patient with us, tweaking the menu to match our vision. Our menu ultimately included scotch quail eggs, hamachi crudo, little gems w bacon and cream fraiche, smoked maitake rye toasts, fried sesame chicken, veggie fritto misto, heirloom tomato and burrata salad w fennel, succotash, and ice cream sandwiches utilizing ice cream from our favorite shop Tara's. We hired our bartender through Potliquor as well, and they made some mean ginger shrub mojitos. Laura and Jennifer were also cost conscious and helped us decide on everything based on budget, and even trimmed some of the final total at the end since they finished cleaning up early! I love Jennifer and I love her food! Jennifer catered our wedding last week and really blew us away. Actually, I think every single one of our 62 guests came up to us at one point in the night and said the food was spectacular-amazing-awesome-fantastic-wonderful...you get the picture. We served a family style menu including for our main course: tri tip roasts with heirloom tomato panzanella salad, summer succotash over polenta (my favorite!), and planked halibut with wehani rice. There was SO much food that no one left hungry. Everything was fresh and from the local farmers market. Also, the service that Jennifer provided was amazing. First, Jennifer worked within our budget and gave us some great suggestions to save money on rentals. We were married in a loft (therefore we had to bring in everything) and she helped coordinate all of the essentials for us. Second, she also introduced me to Pascal for bartending services, where we provided all the alcohol and he handled everything else. Third, the staff that she had with her the day-of, was great. They were attentive and friendly -- and made sure that I was properly fed from separate platters sans meat since I'm a vegetarian. Overall our experience was wonderful. We looked at a lot of caterers for our wedding and I'm so happy that we partnered with her to make our night even more special. read more

From start to finish, we had an excellent experience with Potliquor in putting together our early March wedding. We knew that we wanted Laura to prepare and present food at our reception based on our memories of dinner parties she hosted years ago. We confirmed our decision when we learned that Jennifer and Laura (the Potliquor team) create seasonal, locally-sourced menus. We worked with them--mostly from afar--to design the menu, coordinate the site logistics, and work out myriad details that made the event very personal for us and our families. We worked mostly with Laura, and she was very professional, super thoughtful, and uber detail-oriented. After we did a walk through of the venue and had a tasting at the amazing Potliquor kitchen, we were totally at ease with the event plan. Jennifer and Laura did an amazing job catering my wedding in San Francisco! They helped me create a very unique menu focusing on seasonal ingredients that fit my vegetable-centric tastes but still keep all the meat-eaters happy. I got compliments on the food throughout the evening from all of the guests! The servers were also all very attentive to the guests needs as well as making sure my husband and I got to actually try all the food ourselves! I also hired Jennifer to be the day of coordinator for the wedding and she did a wonderful job leading up to the event and on the day of.
