I drove 3 children home from the beach in order to make our 5 pm appt after my brother told me the falls church location was amazing so i thought i would try the rockville because it was on our way home. I communicated via text with a representative around 12 pm, paid the deposit (25.00 for 4 of us) and I told them via text that 3 of us had confirmed lice and that we did not want to spend 4 hours there so if they could give us 2 people that would be amazing. They said there would be ample time. When we got there I asked the second lady who worked there if she could help us and do some of the treatment for 2 of us and she said sure she had extra time. At the same time 2 other clients were in there for a lice check and when it was confirmed they had lice - i heard the woman who was going to be working on us say that they were full for the night and they were told there was nothing available till tomorrow. When i told the first woman who was assigned to us that the second woman offered to help do some of us she then called her manager who booked the 2 other people (without them paying a new deposit). At the same time the woman started on my nephew. I said i would do 2 kids and leave before the other 2 because it was going to take at least 3 hours for 2 of us. We got there at 5 pm after driving 3 hours to get there and cutting our beach vacation short. Long story short they halted work because i threatened to dispute the charge (for the 2 that weren't going to be seen) and told me i had to wait for the local manager, Amelia to come in. It took her 12 minutes or more to get there and then another 7 minutes to finish a phone call before she came in. All the while no work was happening on my nephew who they had already found lice on at the clinic. At that point i explained to her calmly what happened and she said their policy is not to split families. I told her i was willing to pay extra and this was an unusual circumstance since we already had 3 identified cases and they literally gave away the open appointments after i had asked for them (first at 12 PM and again when i got there at 5 pm). She was very rude and told me i didn't know what i was talking about and thats not their policy. I explained to her the reason i didn't want to be there for 4 hours (everyone was tired and all of the children had to wait for everyone to be done) and I told her she could have offered to do one of us herself. She said she could have but wasn't going to. She then accused. me of yelling at her I was not yelling and then she asked us to leave the clinic. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH THE SUPERVISOR AMELIA. Sydney and the other woman were lovely and very kind and seemed to be overwhelmed by their day. DO NOT GO. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I didn't love that they distracted my preschooler from a no-TV household with videos, but it was effective in keeping her still enough to treat. And after checking the rest of the household they didn't try to sell us on removal services that only one kid needed, which was great. (They did urge me to recommend the $25 head check to close contacts, but that didn't seem unreasonable under the circumstances). They also provide a clearly written fact sheet (with attached request to provide a review [eyeroll]), which dispels some persistent internet myths about the level of house cleaning required after lice are discovered, and they were patient answering follow up questions. A bit of upsell on products but not too bad, and the pressure to provide a review is a bit obnoxious but not worse than some other businesses in the community. A week in, so far so good, the treatment seems to have done its job. I may modify this review if there's a recurring problem right after the 30 day guarantee expires, but for now I feel like they earned the sought-after 5 stars.
