The care was fine but be careful and KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS. If using insurance, they will ask for a deposit and tell you it will be refunded once everything settles through insurance. But months later and after everything is paid, they'll tell you they don't see a record of the deposit and you'll start making phone calls trying to track down your refund. Still trying but not real hopeful I'll get my deposit back. read more

A few years ago I had a bunionectomy that was horribly botched. The surgeon left the big toe sticking up and way shorter than it was before. He also pulled the toenail out of the cuticle. I was in a lot of pain. Afterwards, the surgeon realized that he screwed up and ghosted me. At this point we were relocating from California to Virginia and all I can do is find another surgeon to fix my foot. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Vincent Bonini at Potomac Podiatry Group. Not only did he reconstruct my right foot the best that he could, he treated it with stem cells from my leg so it would heal quickly. It was a lengthy process, in the end I got my foot back! I have a genetic defect in my feet that I mentioned to the previous surgeon that he ignored, but Dr. Bonini didn't. I am so lucky to have found him! At this point my feet don't match thanks to the last surgeon but I don't care. Dr. Bonini did the best that he could to fix what the previous surgeon had done. My feet don't match but I don't care. The past three years have been limiting due to severe left foot injury, bunion and hammer toe deformity. I was referred to Dr. Jared Melman by another podiatrist. He is professional, detailed and most important listens to the patient. The level of care received prior, during surgery and post care has exceeded my expectation. My surgery took 5 hours to complete. I am very happy with results! Dr. Mehlman expertise has giving me the ability to display my toes with confidence again. Saw Dr Toomey for planters wart and nail fungus. He's an arrogant guy and really rough with patients who are in pain. Chopped off bits of super painful planters wart and sore toenails with fungus. Kept asking him to stop and he wouldn't. He should have numbed up the area, like I asked, but he wouldn't do it. Not stopping when a patient tells U to is unprofessional and illegal. Asked him for pain meds to help with aftershock pain, but he refused. Foot still hurting badly after several weeks. Never going back. Don't come here if U want top notch care from up-to-date medical group. He should have numbed area and used freezing agent. Done with doctors who don't care about patients. read more

Dr. Toomey is the best there is - he's the long time podiatrist form myself and my adult son. We've seen him for many conditions his bedside manner, ease of communication and upfront explanations of what might or might not work is above notch, and always to the best interest of the patient. We are lucky to have him as our doctor! Thank you doctor Toomey! Their previous clinic Optiz was a bit chaotic but they were extremely busy, and staff are most efficient and friendly despite that, they really made an effort. I visited only once in their much larger newish clinic on Smoketown, and they seem to have more staff or better administration. I always leave with a sense of being well-cared for whether in the old or new clinic. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Toomey, however, the billing and incompetent front desk staff have left such a distaste in my mouth that I don't intend on returning. I initially went in for toenail discoloration and foot pain (likely due to my pregnancy), but during my appointment with Dr. Toomey, I learned that I had flat feet and could benefit from foot orthotics. After my appointment, the front desk staff handed me a form explaining the price of the foot orthotics with several CPT codes and suggested I call my insurance company to verify I had coverage (because apparently verifying benefits isn't in their job description). After calling my insurance company and learning that I do have coverage, I contacted Potomac Podiatry Group to schedule an appointment to get fitted for foot orthotics. 2 weeks later, I arrive to my appointment and after checking in, was addressed about a balance on my account (from my first appointment) in front of others in the waiting area. I'm puzzled because I haven't received a single statement from them. I asked the front desk person to print off a recent statement and low and behold, the statement date was literally the day before meaning I HAVEN'T RECEIVED A PHYSICAL BILL YET. She acknowledged that and proceeded to check me in. After seeing Dr. Toomey again, I went to the front desk to check out. Another front desk person, mentioned the balance on my account and asked me how I would like to pay. I also had to make a deposit on the foot orthotics even though my insurance provided coverage and was an in-network provider at that. Annoyed at this point, I paid the deposit for the orthotics and my balance. I was told it would take 2 weeks for the foot orthotics to come in and would get a refund for the overpayment once my insurance processed the claim. Ok fine. 2 weeks go by and I haven't heard back from Potomac Podiatry. I call them and speak with someone at the front desk. She tells me that the company they use to make their foot orthotics actually burned down several months ago and that all orders are delayed. I'm pissed off at this point because I'm pregnant and my feet hurt and I was specifically told 2 weeks before I made the payment on these foot orthotics and had I known about the delay due to a fire, I would've taken my business elsewhere. She told me to call back in 2 weeks. I then called my insurance company to let them know what happened and was told my only options would be to wait for the foot orthotics to come in or call Potomac Podiatry back and ask for a refund, so that I can use my benefit elsewhere (which wasn't an option-go figure). Regardless, they made note of what happened. The next time I called Potomac Podiatry, I asked to speak with the office manager, who was actually very nice. She apologized on behalf of the front staff mentioning that she would give another training and would look into my order and would get back to me. I ended up calling a week later because I hadn't heard back and one of the front desk staff told me they left me a voice message days prior, however, I don't have any missed calls or voice messages from this place. I was told that my orthotics came in and was instructed to make an appointment to ensure they fit correctly. This will absolutely be my last appointment with this place. It took 6 weeks for my foot orthotics to come in when I was told 2 weeks after ordering them. read more

Dr. Levin does a great job of assessing patients and determining a path forward to get them well. He is not pushy or rude he takes time to discuss different options. My husband was the first to get treated by him successfully. Now I am seeing him as well for heel pain and neuromas. He has treated me and I feel so much better. His staff is friendly and helpful. This's the worst place to go to.. First of all is a really small and unclean place, the doctor doesn't even gloves wear. That is unhygienic. The treatment that the doctor gives me did the same thing that the medication from the local pharmacies does (NOTHING AT ALL) The lady in the front desk i'm sure she doesn't know what is costumer service. When she gave me the form, i ask her about a question and she didn't even know what it was. They don't take phone calls, they always call you back. And last they charge you $50 if you can not make it to the appointment, something that I think they should warning you before gave to you a appointment, at least say if you don't come you'll be charge but not they just don't say anything so they can get more money from you. read more

Don't usually write reviews, however this foot doctor has done a great job and deserves a good word. I have visited his office 6 times over the past year and a half for various treatments. Dr. Levin takes his time and treatments have worked for all issues. I have not experienced any pain (other than a needle prick). The doctor is a nice person, and the staff is very efficient. The doctor is excellent. However, I cannot say the same thing about the office manager. Tried to charge me a no show fee for an appointment I never made. To add insult to injury, she then claims she spoke with me on the appointment day and rescheduled for the following week for which I apparently no showed again. The thing is, I was not even in the country the whole time and even after telling the office manager this, she insisted that she had spoken with me. After I provided a copy of my itinerary, my ticket stub, showed a copy of my credit card statement showing charges made out of the country, and even offered to show my passport with immigration stamps, she still insisted she spoke to me. She finally told me in the end that "she'll let this fee slide this one time though she did talk to me." Immature office manager who can not admit when she's wrong and lies to try to make a fast buck off of patients. I'm considering letting my insurance company know about this so they can perhaps do an audit on any charges coming from this office. Sad thing is, the doctor was a pleasant person and seemed like a good doctor. read more

Do not go here!! My son had procedure done to toe nail. 5 months later same problem. Was told no charge and to come back in a week if it did not feel better. Well it was doing fine so we did not go back. A month later recieved a bill for a no show appointment. When explained what was told to us, the office manager did not care and the charge stood!! Now another month later an additional charge, because they billed the insurance and they did not pay it all. So even though I was told no charge they scammed the insurance company when this was a COMEBACK! Well 3 months after 2nd procedure he has the EXACT same problem with same nail! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DR. AND HIS OFFICE OF IDIOTS!!!!! read more

Office is nasty dirty. Doctor had horrible halitosis. Told 10-year-old not to wear cleats when his love in life are multiple outdoor sports that require cleats to be competitive (baseball, soccer, flag football). Sold heal cups for $40 that could have been bought at CVS for $12. And the kicker...his office added a service charge on the sale of the heal cups that were already marked up over 300%. read more
