He's always caring to my needs and special orders. 4th of July I ordered a brisket to smoke. It was a hit! Best brisket I have ever smoked. Every year for Christmas, my prime rib is top notch, and last thanksgiving I did rotisserie turkey legs and honestly, I have never had better turkey meat in my life. The butter sold in store is unmatched. The Canadian bacon is so good too. The girls working the counter are always super friendly and helpful. I also love their produce. Best watermelon around! I buy a couple every week. I split it with my chickens. My favorite thing about this place is that you can see the cows across the street, living their lives enjoying the pasture. I'm telling you, bring home a few filets. You will not be disappointed. Oh! And the skirt steaks are amazing on the grill. 10/10 all day. I usually buy 5 ribeyes and 5 filets a week. My husband and I really only eat red meat and we never get tired of the steaks. They carry a tallow face cream too, and I've been using it for about a month and have gotten so many compliments that I look rested! Someone even said I looked "radiant" Please support your local farms! Our families depend on these small businesses. It is so hard to trust the local grocery store. Meats shouldn't have fillers or dyes and Bill Gates shouldn't be pumping cancer into your produce. Shop local, you will not be disappointed!

My parents are 88 and 90 ... they had a horrible time with their sandwiches! Maybe less meat and then lower the prices!! They are pretty steep on their prices and charge extra for everything!! They both ordered the 1/2 a sandwich with a cup of soup. They both enjoyed their soup. They said it was good but nothing special. My cousin and I both opted for a full sandwich w/fries. We exchanged 1/2 of our sandwiches. When I asked for mine w/out jalapeños you would have thought I had asked her to go out back and killed the chicken with her bare hand! Very strange look and a bit of a snotty attitude! The service was sooooo slow! And only a few people were in. We stopped in for an early lunch. (Just after opening) The new location is way too small. I'm surprised they chose to move to this location. The parking lot is tiny and weird shaped. There's not a lot of seating inside... I personally have tried all of their locations and it's always the same issues. It was not my choice to pick here, I would have gone elsewhere.

While scrolling social media one evening, I stumbled across a heated debate about who makes the…read morebest peanut butter pie in Central PA. This conversation was clearly MADE for me. As someone who takes peanut butter desserts perhaps a little more seriously than the average human being, I immediately started making a list of the top contenders. Oak Grove Farms kept popping up, so when I found myself with a free rainy Saturday afternoon, it became time for an official Peanut Butter Pie Procurement Mission. Now, Oak Grove Farms offers way more than peanut butter pie. Their farm market is stocked with fresh produce, baked goods, meats, dairy products, locally made items and all kinds of other goodies. But this particular Yelp review? This mission? Laser-focused on peanut butter pie. Before leaving home, I called to make sure I wouldn't drive over only to discover they'd sold out. The nice lady who answered the phone happily confirmed they still had peanut butter pie available. Mission status: ON! When I arrived, I was actually surprised by how busy the farm market was despite the rainy weather. Apparently a little rain isn't enough to keep folks away from Oak Grove, which is always a good sign. I walked straight inside and made an immediate beeline for the refrigerated pie case. There were only two individual slices of peanut butter pie left, so I grabbed one before anyone else could beat me to it. They also had half and whole pies available, but let's try to exercise at least a little self-control on the first visit. The damage? A whopping $2.49 for a slice of peanut butter pie. I actually laughed. That's almost suspiciously affordable these days. As I was heading toward the register, I made the mistake of walking past the whoopie pies. Or perhaps the best decision of the day. Five minutes later, I was walking out with not only my peanut butter pie but also a Shoofly Whoopie Pie for another $2.50. My picnic dessert situation had officially escalated. Fast forward a few hours...dinner was over. It was dessert time. The peanut butter pie absolutely lived up to the hype! The filling was light and fluffy while still delivering a rich peanut butter flavor in every bite. I'm usually not the biggest fan of chocolate cookie crusts on peanut butter pie because I think they sometimes overpower the filling, but this one worked beautifully. Even the little dollops of whipped topping around the edge added just the right finishing touch. This one has officially earned a spot near the top of my Central PA peanut butter pie rankings! And then...the Shoofly Whoopie Pie. I honestly bought it because I'd never seen one before and curiosity got the better of me. And, I'm really glad it did! It was incredibly moist with a rich molasses flavor that came through beautifully without being overwhelming. It was unlike any whoopie pie I've had before, and easily one of my favorite varieties I've tried in quite a while. Mission accomplished! While Oak Grove Farms is clearly much more than just a destination for desserts, this peanut butter pie expedition was an overwhelming success. Next time I'll spend more time exploring everything else the market has to offer. But let's be honest...I'll probably leave with another slice o

The store is huge and just feels more complete than the store in Boiling Springs. Their meat department has a great selection and I would recommend anyone looking for steak to go here for quality. Yes, their "deals" often involve buying meat in bulk, but even for the extra dollar a pound to buy it without the deal, you get what you pay for. Their ground sirloin is out of this world for things like hamburger helper or tacos! The soups are another highlight - it's like walking into my grandma's kitchen! Homemade style soups are always available on their hot bar, and some are prepackaged cold. Our favorites are their Corn Chowder, Lobster Bisque, and their Corn and Shrimp Chowder. The only downside is the price. You get it by the pound, and if you use the big container, you could easily spend almost $10. That's a bit steep for maybe two portions, but the quality really is amazing. They run great deals on things like frozen pizza! Their pies and baked goods are decent quality too, though I'd recommend getting these early in the day as many are made overnight. Fresh in the morning doesn't always mean fresh in the evening! Cat food and litter is reasonable as well. Two 20 pound containers of litter is maybe a dollar or two more than one 40 pound container at Target or Walmart, so it really isn't worth the drive when we can just grab this at Karns. North Middleton got a great boost when Karns brought groceries back to this side of town!
