I have to hand it to Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids over the years. They have done a fantastic job keeping up with the times and keeping people on the forefront of times with their home decor. If you're not a do it yourself person, now they even have design services to help you out. On this visit to Pottery Barn Kids I learned a few things. One of the things that I learned is that they have branched out into customizing dorm rooms for college kids. They have a whole service that will design your room for you or you can buy pieces in the stores for your room. What a great concept! I know when I was in college I did not have a clue on how to decorate my room. Consequently, it was Joel drab and boring. These folks could really help me out if they would've been in existence back in my day lol. Although my kids are grown, it was fun to shop and look around at what the latest offerings are today. I do have grandkids, so the possibilities are still there. It's just I'm not the decision-maker anymore. Lol. Some cool things that I loved for nurseries were that they had cloud pendant lights, and a moon light as well. I was thinking how much fun those could be in decorating a nursery. When I was there, they were kind of closing out their summer offerings, and beginning to put out their fall and Halloween decor. I am a big fan of Halloween, so I was kind of thrilled to see their decor that they were coming out with. They're very nice sales. Staff told me that over the next few weeks they would be continuing that phase and that they would be a lot more fall and Halloween decor coming out. I would be remiss if I did not mention the great customer service in this place. You are typically greeted as you enter in the door and welcomed to the store. It's been years since I have been in a Pottery Barn Kids store, and I forgot how wonderful it is. My kids are all grown, but I stood there trying to figure out why I would need to buy new kids furniture. Their designs are whimsical and fun, and the bedding and curtains are vibrant and lovely. The staff was very friendly, and answered my questions quickly (I wanted to know when their Halloween was coming in). Made our first purchase from here over two years ago and had a great experience. However in the last year going in to purchase baby/toddler items hasn't been the same. The staff use to be more helpful. They use to wave shipping when having delivered to store and now I still have to pay shipping (same price) to the store or to home. I do not know why the shift but quality of service has shifted and product availability and quality have started to trend downwards. Again very happy with our furniture purchases two years ago but recent purchases have been good but service has been wildly underwhelming. I live in CA and called this specific location because they were the closest store to me that carries a specific Easter basket (sold out online & all CA locations) . Marina was very helpful and kind! We even had a couple laughs. I am very friendly and don't feel the need to talk to people like their not human. I am leaving this review for this store specifically not Pottery Barn as a brand. I went in to look for a specific piece of furniture which was a kids vanity. I found one on the floor with no tag so I asked about the item to Marina (one of the six people at the register) and when I asked about the floor model Chantelle (another employee) was extremely rude in response to my question. She said angrily "all floor models are tagged!" and walked away. Reminder...the item I was asking about wasn't tagged at all in the first place. I called customer service, they were so helpful. I wish I would have received better treatment in person. I also want to add that I was in the store on a Tuesday afternoon so there was only me and one other customer in the store. I appreciate the way their service center handled my complaint but now I have to take an alternate route to order the piece I was interested in. read more

Not enthralled with the customer service here. My wife purchased several items on a temporary debit card provided by the bank. When returning some of those items, the manager insisted that the only refund that could be provided in the absence of the now-defunct and chopped-up debit card was a merchandise credit. This just doesn't make any sense. They have a receipt clearly showing that a debit card was used. That debit card has since been destroyed at the request of the bank. So either a cash refund, check by mail or refunding the amount of the purchase to a different debit card are the only options that would provide any customer satisfaction at all. I spoke with both the cashier and the manager and both insisted that 'the computer' won't allow them to do anything else. Credible? No. Customer-friendly? Not even close. Cmon Pottery Barn, you can do better than this. A LOT better. read more

I cannot say enough GOOD about PBK at Stonebriar! Years ago, we came here looking for furniture when I was pregnant with our first child and everyone was exceptional. The other day, we needed more children's furniture and Carol is an absolute angel. When I say she went above and beyond, I mean she went to infinity and beyond to help me! She used codes I didn't have access to save me sooo much on my order and get it delivered to my house. She called me back 2-3 times in the process to let me know what she found in terms of what discounts would work best. Seriously. An absolute angel. If you need anything, call the store! Garbage. I spent over $7000 with you building my nursery. All furniture items were received late and I received the run around. But that's not even what irritated me about this place, I called today and PEGGY answered the phone. I have a 6 month old $1700 rocker and ottoman that is making a horrendous sound. I asked about their warranty policy of the items I purchased there. After telling me she has worked for the company for two years she couldn't tell me what the warranty was, ok fine. But here's the kicker, she told me to call customer service. She said she didn't know the number and told me to look it up. Said i should look for my 6 month old receipt because the number is there. Told her I have no idea where it was so she told me to look online and if the number was wrong they can tell me where to go. Wow. So you're telling me you've been with the company for 2 years and you don't know the customer service number? Why didn't you offer to look up my receipt in the database and locate the number for your customer. She was rude and off putting and clearly too busy for me or any additional customers. I recently had a disheartening experience at this location which I hate to say seemed as if it was a result of racism/prejudice. I was in this store 7 mths pregnant and with a toddler looking through bedding and furniture for my new baby's nursery. There were many staff members rushing past several times just fixing displays and doing inventory - not necessarily too busy to stop and say "can I help you?" After not being approached by anyone I decided to leave and stepped outside - but I didn't want my trip to be a waste so I went back in and tried to approach someone. I should also point out there was another Caucasian customer that was being assisted with big smiles. I managed to finally get one person to acknowledge me and asked a question. She promptly answered my question and scurried away - clearly I was a serious customer but I guess I just wasn't of interest to her. She went behind the counter and was just looking through some papers, the phone rang and she answered with a loud bubbly voice that obviously wasn't for me. I'm not white or black - my look is quite ambiguous and English is my first language. However I guess I don't look "American" enough to be treated equally. read more

As other customers have stated online, Do NOT Make furniture purchases without knowing their delivery services are inept at best and rude and uncaring at worst. After an epic fail on $2500 furniture purchase Delivery I sought resolution from PB. After a number of missteps from delivery, I requested a refund of their rather steep DelIvery fee of $247. It was met with hard resistance behind a wall of their policies. Below is their actual reply: Please allow me to sincerely apologize for the difficulty you experienced with our shipping partners and the delivery experience of your orders. Our company is dedicated to providing quality merchandise and excellent service to our customers. When it is brought to our attention that we have failed in either of these respects it is a matter of serious concern. We truly appreciate the time you took to share this feedback, so that we may ensure your comments are reported to the appropriate individuals and considered for future improvements. Unfortunately, our shipping fees are non-refundable this is because these Delivery and Processing Standard Fees include Adequate packaging, Prompt handling at the DC, Fast shipping and Tracking service. Delivery and processing surcharges are additional fees to ensure that over sized items safely reach the customer's home. These fees include additional required packaging, additional handling needed and various transportation methods. If your furniture/item is delivered via freight carrier, you will receive an extra complimentary service, which we find to be convenient and beneficial like room-specific delivery, assembly (on most items) and packaging removal. However, I was able to work with a lead representative and they advised that due to the errors with the delivery of the mattress we would be willing to offer 10% off the mattress for $54.02. I'm on a 5-star binge! But this is not without merit (double negative, I'm on a roll). Customer service here is second to none. The staff here is more than willing to help out either with simple purchases or with the more larger ones. We recently bought a craft table at this location, but it turned out that they didn't have our color in stock when they searched for it in their stockroom. With Christmas a few days away, they offered to overnight a table from another store to our house, free of charge. Unfortunately, the table arrived in poor condition... one big crack near the drawers and many dents and dings. Called up PBK and they were more than happy to take back the table at their location and have another shipped to our house free of charge (again). Their Star Wars collection always keep my son and I entertained while my wife wanders the store. Yeah, prices can be on the high side at times, but their products are of great quality and they stand behind their products 100%. read more

Once it arrives if it's so uncomfortable that it's like sleeping on a rock for your 4 year old son they won't take it back. No returns. The bitter woman on their customer service line will just say something like "Well, you shoulda been sure you wanted it". You'll basically be wasting $649 for that 'Plush Pillow Top' when you should have just gone in person to another store to check it out (as they never have mattresses in-stock at the store - little wonder). read more

I've nothing but problems dealing with the Stonebriar PBK staff since I ordered a table and chairs almost 6 weeks ago. I was initially told the merchandise would be delivered to the store in 4 days, and they would call me when it arrived. Two weeks later, no phone call so I called them. I was told to just wait and it would eventually arrive. Each week thereafter, I called and explained the situation. Each time the manager told me she would look into it and call me back. They never did. Finally, after a month I talked to a manager who actually did follow up. She told me the original saleswoman entered the sale wrong, but they would ship the table and chairs to me. The table was to come directly from their store, and the chairs would come from the PBK distribution center. A week later, the chairs arrived, but no table. Finally, UPS admitted they lost the table. Yes, I live 9 miles from the store and UPS couldn't even get that right! Since PBK was the shipper, UPS told me PBK would have to initiate an investigation. When I called the store to inform them of what UPS told me, they said that the district manager was getting involved because I was the third customer who had this same problem! It is now about 6 weeks since I made the initial purchase, and I STILL DO NOT have my table! I would have expected that PBK would have sent me another table because the issue is between them and UPS, not me. However, I've had NO further communication from PBK and NO table ... but PBK promptly charged my credit card for merchandise that they still have NOT delivered to me! This was my first and LAST experience buying from PBK. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. The managers were bad enough, but you would think the district manager would have handled it properly. read more

We were leaning toward gender neutral and where also in courage to check out the online selection. I ordered some thanksgiving items and everything was fine. I tracked my order and all showed to be delivered. To my surprise I had items missing. When I called to find out what was going on I was told that the items that were missing were on back order. This confused me because there was never any communication on the items being back ordered. I asked for a confirmation email on these items and to my surprise they now show "on hold due to customers request". I never put them on hold. I called to find out what happened and the representative doesn't know how this happened and really did not seem to care. It will take 24-48 hours to take off hold and it only took less a phone call to have them on hold, (which I did not request). Okay, so overall I love this store and I had 5-Star service when I had Sue helping me! She was amazing! However, when I went to check out with an exchange Marina made the process very painful. Please save yourself much heart ache and never buy furniture from this store. We have been living a nightmare since our furniture purchase there on Oct. 11. The original delivery date was to have been around Oct. 26. Finally, after 8 weeks of delay, they were scheduled to do the Delivery yesterday between 4 and 6. Needless to say, they were a no show and when we finally got hold of someone they were running over two hours behind and would not be there before 8. When they finally called after 8, the two and four year old were in bed. We said they would just have to reschedule. They were supposed to call this morning. Of course, no one called. When trying to contact them this afternoon, the person at their national scheduling office said he didn't have the authority to reschedule us. So, they have our money and our furniture. I recently called PBK to see if a certain item was in stock (the faux fur bean bag) they told me they were all out since Christmas was near but then they called me back and said they had one left and I could have it if I paid over the phone right then, so I did and they gave me 20% off! The next day all I had to do was pull up to the PBK dock and they were already out there waiting for me, and the man put it in my car and I was able to go back home. This is one of the best experiences that I have had at a retail store. My daughter was set on a chandelier for her birthday and I was tasked by my wife with getting the one she had picked out from Pottery Barn. Unfortunately for me, the store in Frisco only had a return that had been damaged leaving me short on time and without a birthday gift. But this is where the story takes a turn for the better as I meet Freda (the store manager) who went out of her way to help me source one from another store and have it shipped in time for the special occasion and might I add with a wonderful smile the whole time. This is the way customer service should be and how to build return business. The chandelier arrived as promised on time and was opened with much oohing and awing. The staff at this location knows their stuff and really seems to care about their customers and I would highly recommend a trip into to see them. read more

This my first negative review. I was just in the store on a busy Saturday evening. There was only one person at the register helping a customer in front of me. It took a long time because she was trying to help making orders online or from another store for the customer in front of me. I was the 2nd person in line. There was a 2nd person at the registers but when asked if she could help ring up my transaction, she answered no. There is now a 3rd customer waiting and because the wait was so long, she had left. Shortly after, there was now 2 other customers waiting in line after me, so I had asked again if there was anyone else that could help us, she said that she would alert the manager. Manager finally came after "looking busy" with paper work at the registers. When I came up to her register - there was no greeting, no apologies to me For the wait. She rang my transaction without even saying a word to me - not even a thank you after I paid. As I left, I overheard the manager did apologized to the customer behind me for waiting... I normally don't use racial profiling/prejudices as an explanation for how I was treated and I could understand that kind of service from a teenager perhaps, but from a manager ? That is representing a major company? that's inexcusable. That manager needs training on how to manage staff and the basics of good customer service. read more
