Pottery Barn has several meanings. They have flameless candles that are so convincing as they "flicker"-beautiful, safe flaming. They had plenty of Christmas decor on clearance- including decor from Christmas 2015(!!!) Talk about retro. They have affordable, tasteful home furnishings and decorations. read more

Purchased two Irving swivel recliner chairs in February; got them in June. Had them only a month and one is already making a loud noise like it's off its track. Called Pottery Barn customer service to request a return but was told they are custom and not returnable because we selected the fabric. There was no default fabric - we had to select a fabric! I've spent thousands of dollars with Pottery Barn. Never again. read more

The service was truly shocking. We went to the store and worked with a salesperson (Michael Anania) and then did a lot of research online. In order to make sure Mr. Anania gets the commission, I spent several extra hours to place the order through him, instead of ordering in the app, which would have been much faster (and safer to ensure no mistakes). I was happy to do this as it felt the right way to do business this way. However, after Mr. Anania earned the commission, which might be sizable as the order was about 16K, he didn't reply to any of my emails, texts, calls. I also called the store multiple times... Given the level of service, I should have placed the order on the app, which would have been much quicker, and I might have received more information. read more

I don't know if PB is starting a trend of some sort... but once on Chestnut Hill the blatant "discrimination"-type behavior by "snooty" sales reps (boy was that a doozie), and now, in an EMPTY PB with some young girls sitting near the beds on the right hand side of the store - college "preppy" - like girls and the very "I'm rich but work here to keep myself busy" - looking sales rep dotting and fawning over the girls, while hub and I walked in... INVISIBLE. Another gentleman at the back of the store was on phone / computer but didn't seem interested in our presence either. Is this a standard for PB? To ignore people that don't dress like they came out of Vineyard Vines and wearing rolex? The blonde lady dressed nicely with an air of "I'm not an employee here, I'm a money woman who is here to be seen and with people at my caliber" scent of snobbery precisely played the part I have seen in other PBs. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe she just didn't notice the duo that looked like we had been working on the house (we were, and we wanted to get a coffee table you snobs, we had seen on the web and were interested in checking it out. AND BTW YOU SNOB, WE DID HAVE CHAMPAGNE AND ESCARGOTS FOR LUNCH BECAUSE WE CAN AFFORD FURNITURE AND FOOD. AND WOULD NEVER LOOK DOWN AT PEOPLE. You evidently missed that in human school). Well enough of me. PB - it starts with the company. THIS is your image. I feel for those employees who don't match this description, but that lady? Ug. yea. I'm going back to Arhaus in Natick, where they treat everyone with respect no matter what we look like when we walk in through the door. PS - their stuff IS BETTER THAN YOURS AND MORE EXPENSIVE and they don't carry themselves like they are snoot for hire heiress keeping their pettiness busy. I went into the store trying to find a duplicate pillow to one I had previously purchased from PB. I wouldn't say it was a team meeting but all the employees were huddled together in the front of the store. No one greeted me or bothered to break away from their discussion to offer assistance. I walked through the entire store and still they huddled. I left without a pillow and without assistance. They have nice products. Fairly high prices. And a lack of service at this particular store. read more

After waiting almost 6 months for a couch from them, I made the mistake of ordering a coffee table here. I came to Mashpee to see it and was pressured by the SA to buy from her rather than directly online. Her reasoning was that should there be a problem with the piece, she would be able to fix it right away. Seeing as it made no difference price wise, I obliged. Fast forward (or should I say slow forward?) four months. My piece finally comes and what do you know, it's damaged. I call the store immediately to flag with them. I asked them to expedite a new one and ship it to the store. They couldn't do either. After a week of following up on the status of my replacement table, they finally told me the new one was ordered. However, they couldn't provide an eta or shipping confirm. What they also neglected to mention was that I would be required to have a repair person come and assess the piece to see if it's salvageable. This took another week and a half. This man took one look at it and determined it was not in fact salvageable and took the same pictures I had provided to PB almost two weeks prior. It took another several days for them to finally order the piece, at which point the SA and manager were completely MIA. I finally received the replacement yesterday (JULY) after ordering the table in November. Overall, extremely painful to deal with and disappointed with the PB Mashpee team for being unhelpful, misleading and uncaring. TL;DR - go somewhere local instead. read more

I purchased an outdoor umbrella in June to match my existing one that was purchased last year. I waited two months for it to arrive. I took it out of the package today and found it to have such poor quality. The stitching was already loose and the pockets where the spoke fits was way too big. Also the seams running down the umbrella were not finished and very rough. read more

Starts with Mashpee but also about company There is something wrong with Pottery Barn. I've dealt with them for years but recent experiences trying to furnish a home after renovation has been very frustrating. After some confusion in which store staff had wrong information about an order, I had to get on the phone with their company call center and after 4+ hours on multiple calls I was able to straighten it out. Today, I just got off the phone and learned that another item I ordered months ago, which had been backordered earlier shows no delivery date. Yet the website (and a previous email) says it should be delivered today. Customer Service says they have no information on when it will be shipped/delivered. And that it might not come at all. Seems like the pieces do not connect. So good luck knowing when (or if) your item will arrive. Poor management and integration of their retail/communication and ordering systems makes for a very bad customer experience. And they never do anything to make up for their errors/delays! Very different from other retailers I've worked with. read more

I was disappointed in staff constantly yelling across the store to each other. I guess I expected a quiet atmosphere while browsing.

I know, I know, I know: it's Pottery Barn. But let me just say this: these people in Mashpee went above and beyond helping me find and eventually get my beautiful new rug into my home. We're re-doing our bedroom, and I had to find the perfect area rug to 'really pull the room together.' Upon perusing their website, I found such a rug, but of course it was out of stock. SO, I called the nearest location, was given a long list of stores that supposedly did have it (but really didn't) and eventually these folks at Mashpee Commons said, "we don't have it, but we'll gladly order it for you." Hello! Two weeks later, and I received a call that my rug had arrived. I drove over an hour to Mashpee to get it, and upon realizing there was no way it would fit into my vehicle. Their solution? Ship it, and since I drove all the way to get there, they would slit the cost with me (their suggestion!). Oh, and a guarantee that I'll have it within three days. Five stars, people. The customer service is outstanding in this store, however management and their sale practices could be improved. I had to drive to another state to pick up two items they had on their floor but wouldn't sell to me for the same price as the other store. Just know each store makes their own decisions on what price they let items go for-if something is on sale at one store, the next it may not. This small two item purchase took 5-6 hours out of my busy weekend, and the next store was happy to accommodate price. Lesson learned, I won't return to Mashpee though their sales people are quite friendly and helpful. read more
