Absolutely love this pottery barn location. The store is always clean and well organized. Everything is on displayed beautifully and the employees there are so friendly and welcoming. We worked with Shelly and the store manager when purchasing our furniture and they were nothing but helpful. Shelly spent a very long time with us as we produced different leathers and couch styles. She really worked with us to find exactly what it was that we wanted. There was never any pressure to purchase as we came back multiple times. I highly recommend this location and wish that there were more stores around it as the shopping center. It is in has a lot of closed stores.. We will definitely be back to shop here and appreciate the employees so very much. read more

Honestly they don't really care about customer service. None of their stores have any value for the customer. I never get so much as any acknowledgment. This has to stem from the top management, because every store seems the same. Like they are doing you a favor just by allowing you inside. Online shopping you don't have to deal with rude salespeople, but I just ordered something 9/21 and it did say I would receive it by October 5th. I actually had to look on my orders to see that it is backordered with no ETA. Would have been nice to have a email sent stating that. So this review is for in person and online. They both need some customer service skills. I wish I didn't love their items so much. read more

We purchase a lot of items from Pottery Barn. Some are for personal and some are for business since I'm a general contractor. It's nice to have a brick and mortar store near by so we can see and touch the different fabrics, etc. While shopping we generally like to look up products on line while in store. We do this to see what varieties the product may have, but in this store there is no WiFi and no way to even use your 5G. However if you walk out of the front door door you have access again. Super frustrating. This shopping adventure we had the "privilege" of being "helped" by Adrian. He uses the AirPods to communicate with co workers or callers while helping people in person. He yells to people on the phone and to customers so we never knew if he was talking to us or a phone call. When I say yell, I guess it's more of a loud aggressive talking to regardless of you being a client or co worker. Total turn off this go around in store. I recommend shopping on line and even ordering fabric samples on line to avoid loud and abrasive Adrian. read more

I purchased a balboa chair (~$2000 w/delivery) and custom drapes. The chair arrived 3 months after ordering upholstered with 2 different colors of white, a dent on the side and puckering around seat cushion. They are replacing- 5 months and still waiting. I ordered custom drapery panels. One of the panels was more than an inch shorter than the rest of the panels. They offered to replace-3months and still waiting for the replacement panel. In both instances I had to place 3 or more calls/emails to customer service to address the issues. Quality Control at Pottery Barn seems nonexistent. On March 27th of 2020, I purchased two Barrel (swivel) chairs. I chose a material I was told was sturdy. I paid over $600.00 for each chair. I live alone and actually I sit on my sofa. The seam in one of the chairs ripped (came apart). I consider that poor workmanship. I've had a sofa from Ashley's for 9 years (is it in it each night) and it looks great. I went to the Santa Barbara store and was totally ignored. Finally (weeks later) I spoke with Ms. Sullivan, the Manager. She called the Pottery Barn's Customer Service and quickly said that I was out of luck. I think that is just awful customer service. I also feel that this COMPANY must and dhould BACK their product(s). I would hesitate dealing with Pottery Barn. It is difficult to give Pottery Barn one star but their customer service is terrible! I received my coffee table and it was covered with bubbles; definitely not in the product description! They can't figure out what to do. Really? Then I made a purchase of an area rug and two chairs. I was told that they were 25% off. That was untrue. Only the chairs were discounted. I returned the rug, expecting my money to be returned as that's what I was told. Again, wrong! They sent me a gift card. I don't want a gift card! I've spent hours on the phone with Pottery Barn and my money has still not been returned. I don't think The assistant manager was honest; she misrepresented the sale and the transaction policy. I recommend purchasing from a more reputable company. In my quest to resolve these issues, I posted online and found numerous people that are having similar problems. I have been here twice and just love Shopping on PB online. However, the first time I went in the actual store, I got stares from a couple team members like I didn't belong in the store. Second time was today, 11/21/19, as I had to return something. I waited in line and not one word of "Hi! Welcome to Pottery Barn or we will be right with you". I waited my turn and this time around I had someone new who wasn't familiar with online returns. The woman pages someone, no luck. and after waiting about 5 minutes, the woman paged again and a woman came to the desk. The one woman who was new had asked about online returns and the woman seemed a bit agitated. I could tell in her tone she was bothered about showing someone how to return something or maybe it was something else. Finally, I was done and again, not a thank you or an offer. We came to this location for the first time and planning to order furniture here for the first time. Angela was great! We expected based on the reviews to get mediocre service. Instead, she spent well over the allotted time with us. It's an hour apparently with an appointment. I'm sure it's tough right now and they are short staffed. She briefly would help others only during the times we needed to just "look" and decide (when we didn't need her 100%), and that was totally fine. You can tell she works hard! She was great with everyone. So she gave us more time to make sure we were satisfied. Any questions, needs, swatches, printouts, and going thru all the details, she was there. I have never been treated in such a condescending manner at what is usually a stellar sales staff in other locations. I left my phone in the car to take a break from from it. As i entered the store, I interrupted a heated conversation between two older white ladies about how unfair their district manager is and inventory or something. I asked if they could tell me what time it was as i was eager to browse Macy's that opened at 11. "It's a few minute til a quarter til." The coldness that filled the room was noticeable. I was then shadowed around the store by the younger lady. There were windex bottles and rags and empty boxes strewn all over the displays. A coffee tumbler with lipstick on a display table. I picked a candle and paid giving the other senior lady a chance to redeem her poor customer service and i started to conclude maybe they thought i was a homeless person? There was no conversation made, no ask if i found everything i was looking for. She just took my money, put the candle and receipt in the bag and confirmed my suspicion by saying "Stay warm out there." Lady. Some people dress down. Wow, I see a pattern of bad customer service reviews here. I called for a simple and quick question. Angela answered the phone and right away her tone and the way she responded was very "condescending". I gave her a chance but just as the conversation went, it got worst. Then I asked for her manager. Linda answered the phone, I'm pretty sure it was the same person, Angela pretending to be Linda the Store Manager. I mentioned to her that she sounded the same. You would think that at least it would get a little better with having a store manager deal with reporting a bad experience to start. Same way! Real bad experience service!!!! I've been a loyal Pottery Barn fan since they opened their Santa Barbara store, spent lots of money, love their quality and selection, and redid my living room 2 years ago with their furniture. No more: I tried to return an online gift purchase (it was a glass bowl that arrived broken) and the clerk ("I'm a designer!") couldn't have been more rude. She finally gave me a merchandise card for the item and complained that now they will have to bear the cost to return the damaged item - what?! BEWARE: in spite of the website assurance that "most non-furniture items can be returned in-store for a refund", this is not true. After a second experience like the first, I'm pretty much done with PB and if they go out of business at La Cumbre Mall, it's their own fault for letting their customer service model fail and hiring clerks who don't care. If you don't want us bringing online returns to the store so we can shop again in person, you'll soon find out that your customers will abandon you altogether - both brick&mortar and online. read more

Omg... why are these sales associates so cold, unfriendly, self important and just outright rude?! I'm in there to spend money; the store is usually without other customers and yet after many minutes of walking around to check out their inventory and browse, they refuse to address my presence. I honestly am not looking for much attention but I find that the uptight energy simply counteracts my goal of bringing an item home that enriches my household when it reminds me of them. The manager, Linda, is one of the worst. She parades around the store, with great importance while her minion sales associates listen to her intently as she "creates" a space with artistic flair. The ONLY associate who actually acknowledged me and was human was a lady named Kim , who I thanked for being the only one with customer service skills and was down to earth. I realize times are tough and we're all dealing with the complicated times but please understand that when you make the effort to go out to a store and intend to spend some money or not, it shouldn't be too much to ask to be treated with courtesy. This location has terrible reviews, but don't be swayed! I had an AMAZING experience with an out of state order. I originally ordered 3 clearance decorative pillow covers online. They sent one and then I received an email stating the others could not be shipped as they we out. The one I did receive was non-returnable. I called PB customer service who directed me to this PB location in Santa Barbara, CA (I live in Utah) who had 10 in stock. I read the reviews of the store in Yelp I was leary in asking for help. I called and got Christine who went out of her way to search the stock room for the pillow covers, found them for me, and offered to ship them directly to me at an extremely reasonable rate. She called me back within 5 min of my initial call to set everything up. I was so impressed with her initiative to help me all the way in Utah. She could have easily done nothing as I'm sure it took extra time and attention away for her other responsibilities in-store. I just received my order and it was exactly what I needed and arrived within days of my initial call. I can't speak highly enough of Christine.
