Went to purchase Just Food For Dogs frozen food our dog, as we are traveling and this is the only location that we can purchase the food. When I notified an older white make employee named Mark, he was indifferent about the expired food, calling me a liar before arguing it's simply a best by date. The food expired 5 months ago. When I followed up with a manager, a young white female who stated her name was Jordan, she gave me a nasty attitude, dismissing my concerns about the food and how Mark handled the situation, stating she wasn't there so she didn't really know what happened but that I should have a good day. She was snarky, short and quite rude. Neither Mark or Jordan thanked me for informing them they had at least a dozen expired frozen packets of JFFD on their shelf, just nasty attitudes and dismissiveness over the seriousness. It should be noted, a local friend picked up two packets of JFFD for us the day prior and told us she had noted the expired food. The staff is not checking product and not removing expired product.

I stopped in at this location because after cleaning my fish tank a couple of my fish died and it was time to get new residents for the tank. I was browsing the various options and was soon asked if I had questions. Someone came to help me and I explained my loss and plan to repopulate. The fish expert was super helpful and took time to discuss the possibilities of why my previous fish died and how to prevent it in the the future. I found a little yellow guy that I felt was pretty cool looking and the fish expert again took time to explain the fishes character and what to expect as I raise the little guy. He answered all my questions and was sincere in asking if I had more questions. The staff here is a true asset to Petco and if your looking for great advice and super friendly serviceI'd definitely recommend this location. Also, while checking out, Elijah was really personable and I left the store with a super huge smile and my new friend. One last thing...I was married to a Karen and everything was a negative experience..I'd disregard the "Karen's" that posted reviews for this store, it definitely doesn't reflect the overall business truthfully and appears more emotionally charged and disrespectful to the staff here.

When I returned I found that the owner shaved all of her hair off. I was in shock so I asked her why she did that. She was visibly angry and said the dogs hair was matted. I had brushed the dog before I came in but apparently it wasn't enough. I don't understand why the owner didn't just call me and explain the problem. I would have taken my dog home and worked on brushing her hair so that there were no mats. Instead the owner took out her frustration on me and my dog. I will never use her again.

You may find cheaper supplies at PetCo, but this place is worth a few extra pennies, by far.

Despite those instructions, they shaved it anyway. Since the appointment, my pup has been visibly uncomfortable, agitated, and appears to be in pain. As a pet owner, it is heartbreaking to see your dog hurt after trusting a groomer with their care. What is most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Aside from saying "sorry," there has been little acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation or responsibility for ignoring clear instructions that resulted in my dog being injured. I am sharing this so other pet owners can make an informed decision. Please be cautious and make sure your instructions are followed if you choose to bring your pet here.
