Before I purchased my 2022 Nissan Leaf, I was told they had this great app called Nissan Connect. The sales person told me all about how I could start my car and warm it up from my bed, how it would show me everything going on inside the car from the app, how if I were running low on charge it would warn me and lead me right to the nearest charging port, it was the main reason I bought the car. The salesman even put the Nissan Connect app on my phone for me before I got the car! Well.....i couldn't get it to work. I tried and tried for 3 days. Finally I called the number on Nissan Connect's app and they took a bunch of information including my VIN number. Come to find out, my car doesn't come equipped with Nissan Connect. I was beyond disappointed. I called the salesman and he said "Whoops I made a mistake" and that was that. I was out of luck. So I called Nissan Connect back and told them what happened. They suggested I call the sales manager, which I did. He was sorry about the "misunderstanding" and offered me all weather floor mats to make up for it. I dont want all weather floor mats, I want Nissan Connect! That's why I bought this particular car! He told me for $7,000.00 more I could buy the car that came with NIssan Connect but basically I was out of luck. He was nice though. He called me "Sweetheart" and said he was sorry. But that doesn't help me. I am really ticked off. I have no choice but to tell others about my experience, including here on Yelp, the NYS Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. I also have over 7,000 followers on Twitter, many of them local. If I tweet about this, 7,000 people plus whoever they re-tweet will instantly read about it. In September '13, brought my 03 NISSAN in for a CEL issue and four visits later I wasn't able to drive it back home. Yes, four. They explained that each issue was different but the last catalytic converter issue and cost for repair did it for me. It wasn't the repairs but the lack of kindness I received. On my last visit, instead of checking my records and seeing I had visited and PAID for other expensive services, the service writer simply said the total. These guys are con men.beware!!!! They did not honor the warranty on my wife's Nissan Sentra. the CVT transmission went out after 70,000 miles. Nissan updated the warranty to be a hundred twenty thousand miles or 10 years.. they try to tell me you was a different CVT transmission.. and then they change out the transmission fluid. Left the nut loose so all the transmission fluid drained out and let my wife drive home like that... do not trust these guys read more

We were just there to buy a car for my daughter. My husband and daughter were dealing with the salesperson and I stayed in the car. They went to go check out a Nissan Rogue, while I went in to use the restroom. As I left the building I passed the sales person and I heard him speaking to another salesperson, complaining about my husband going over to check the size of the Nissan Rogue and then saying, "F#ck you!" to my husband who was out of earshot. I was astonished that a salesperson would speak this way in front of a potential customer even if he didn't know it was my husband he was referring to. I have had several Nissans over the years, and have been pleased with the service department. At this moment, a five star rating is warranted. Last week I brought in my 2019 Nissan Murano as there was a gap on the console and a new part was ordered to fix the problem. To no fault of the dealer, the new part did nothing to close the gap. It seems like this is a design issue with the 2019 Murano. Also, the carpet on the driver's side is beginning to fray and come apart. Again, I was told this was also another design issue. I have no reason not to believe this explanation,and trust Poughkeepsie Nissan will figure out a way to accommodate a customer of 20 years. read more

My service experience... you be the judge. I wrote a complaint to Nissan about this experience and received ZERO acknowledgement ... therefore I am notating this on Yelp. I had a check engine light come on with a code related to a problem with the primary ignition circuit. I tried several ways to fix it but finally decided to take it to Poughkeepsie Nissan for a professional diagnosis. After paying the $125 diagnosis fee and having them tell me I needed a new wiring harness with a part cost of over $1100 .... their recommendation was the car was not worth fixing. So... I took it home and resumed my own diagnostics and found that replacing the spark plugs and one ignition coil on the front bank solved the problem. For roughly $75 in parts I have spared this vehicle from the junk yard. My problem: How can they ... the EXPERTS... be so far off in their diagnosis... which they collected $125 plus tax. Be very wary of these very friendly but not so competent people. read more

I am the kind of person who believes in keeping a car on the road for a long time, so my search for this car is the first in nine years. I cast a wide net and visited numerous dealerships. My visit to Poughkeepsie Nissan was categorically the worst customer service I have ever seen. I told the salesperson the two cars I was looking to test drive; he repeatedly steered me away from looking at the Maxima, despite the fact that we never discussed my budget. This dealership has been a series of the worst experiences my family has ever had buying a car. We came here looking to purchase 2 used vehicles: one for myself and one for the family. On our first visit, we were led around the lot by Denny, who embodies all the worst stereotypes of used car salesmen. After being disgusted by how he was talking down to me, my dad, and especially my mother, we left. Our second visit had us dealing with Rich, the only decent person I met there. He set me up with my car, and assisted in my family putting a deposit on another vehicle. My third visit had us dealing with paperwork with the finance manager Jimmy, who was the most offensive person we had the displeasure to meet. He fastballed his way through me signing the paperwork, which we now understand was to keep us from looking too closely. Upon review, we discovered that they had bundled an extra $3000 worth of unnecessary extras, including around $500 for 3 years of oil changes, which they told us we were getting for free. They also refused to look for a loan through the one bank we told them to use. The loan they set up for me forced my family to change our insurance, which they twisted into pushing me into an account through an agent they were "good friends" with. When we pushed him on how badly he screwed us, he reluctantly gave us back the $3000, all the while putting the blame on us for not reading the paperwork he refused to give us before the papers were signed. Throughout this entire process, Jimmy was extremely derogatory towards my mother, repeatedly cursing at her and telling her to shut up. We've had the car a week and we are still fighting with them about all their errors. Needless to say we are not getting another vehicle through them, and I would suggest no one else does either. I went into this dealership on a Sunday afternoon with my fiance looking to spend about $20,000 on a pre-owned vehicle and finance most of it. At Poughkeepsie Nissan I met Denny, who was one of their sales representatives. We had been dealing with obnoxious car people all day long, but Denny was a breath of fresh air. They had a used Audi A4 on the lot, and I have been driving Audi's for year's so I was excited that there was potentially an Audi in my price range. The car had over 72,000 miles on it- too many for me since I commute 150 miles a day....that is when Denny told me about the LIFETIME powertrain warranty. Anything major breaks on that car- bring it in to them and they fix for free....awesome, right? OR NOT We left that dealership beause we had seen another car we were interested in at another Nissan dealership- when we got there we found out that Denny was a LIAR and that warranty doesnt exist. That dealership has pulled the same scam with a bunch of other people. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCAMS! read more

If i could give 6 stars, I would. What an awesome place! I came here with my dad just to look and hopefully find the right car for me. I brought my dad because I knew nothing about dealerships and was nervous I might get the worst deal ever going by myself. I was really interested in the Nissan Rogues, specifically a certified pre-owned one. I wasn't ready to buy a brand new car just yet. When we started browsing the lot just to see what they had for sale, Tom came up to us, very welcoming, not pushy, and so nice!! We told him exactly what we wanted, and he tried everything, and I mean everything, to find the right car for me! He was so patient with us, answered all of our 1,000,000 questions we had, and really went above and beyond. We left that first day because I didn't fall in love with anything he showed us, but before we did Tom told me there were more options coming in the next few days. He called me right away. (Which was nice he took us seriously and really wanted to help!) I went to check it out, and I found the perfect one, everything I requested for mileage, price, some things it didn't have like leather seats but I wasn't picky about that! The scary part usually is always going through the financial stuff, but it went so smoothly. Another BIG shout out to Jimmy, who made signing all the paperwork so easy. He explained everything to me before l signed anything. And was so informative. (Side note: I had to come after work all the way from Stamford, CT - by the time I got there they were pretty much closing, so it was really nice he stayed and didn't rush me out of there.) Be very careful when using this dealership. They don't do recalls to try to save money. Double check your coil springsb after they have been "replaced" by the recall and good luck with getting the airbag verified that it was actually replaced. Very dishonest dealership. I find the car I want and they tell me I have to finance threw their bank (which is the bank I use) and put 2,000 dollars down. basically they were not okay with my already getting a loan and would NOT sell me the car despite the fact that I could pay in full. That's how badly they wanted an extra few bucks by financing threw them... sad read more

let me start with saying that poughkeepsie nissan is not deserving of they one star i am forced to give. my husband has a 2009 nissan cube. he had received notice that the electronic steering column lock was recalled. before he got the car in to the dealer to have the part replaced the car just wouldnt start one day. he had the car towed to poughkeepsie nissan because it is the closest to our house. this happened on a wednesday morning and the part was changed (or so they claimed) by the following monday morning. they called to say that the part was changed and worked but then it broke. they said the part was not under warranty and we would be responsible for the cost of the part and the labor to install it. $410 for the part & $120 for labor. we got nissan consumer affairs involved. the representative we were dealing with got the run around with the service department. the manager was too busy and would call her back but never did, was on sick leave, and finally just lied and said that we were told we would be charged only for the diagnostic testing. this lie came 2 weeks after the car was towed there. a day or so before the customer affairs associate got back to us with this final explanation we had the car towed to curry nissan (will be reviewing them with 5 STARS bc they are awesome!) the car was towed to curry nissan on a saturday. they had to wait to get in touch with consumer affairs and order the part but by the following wednesday the car was repaired. guess what? the part and labor is under warranty for 12 months/12,000 miles. this is a general rule for all parts from a nissan dealer. the consumer affairs representative even covered the second tow to Curry nissan, and in a hurry. everyone outside of the poughkeepsie nissan dealer was very kind and apologetic for what we had been put through for nearly 3 weeks. without actually saying anything disparaging about poughkeepsie nissan, the way things resolved almost immediately once Curry nissan was involved and the consumer affairs rep was in contact with Curry nissan says enough. bottom line is poughkeepsie nissan is run by scam artists. Criminals, really. save yourself ALOT of trouble and DO NOT go to poughkeepsie nissan. the extra 40 minute drive to Curry nissan is absolutely worth it! read more

Horrid. 1 star is too many. I went here to purchase my first used car a few years ago. While I was new to the car buying experience, I thought I could trust Poughkeepsie Nissan. I was very wrong. I was severely misled about the car I wound up buying. I was given a completely falsified back story on the vehicle, which I wound up selling privately about a year after I bought it. It turned out the car had 7 owners before me (it was an '04) and had been in an accident with every owner. I was told by the dealership that the dealership owner's son had bought it new and was the only owner. My lack of experience in car buying must have given the dealership the "ok" to take advantage and also sold me a bs warranty that I couldn't even use (within 2 weeks of buying the car, it was falling apart). I now know to do my research, however, a consumer should not have to be concerned about being lied to. It was more than a horrific experience. On another note, a company I work for did a cross promotion a while back with Poughkeepsie Nissan. The dealership Did Not hold up their end of the deal and ripped our employees off of hundreds of dollars, nor would they take our calls or respond to emails. Aside from being the type of dealership willing to take advantage and deceive their customers to make a few bucks, the employees have no sense of customer service or pride in providing a quality product. They will put on a smile and take you for every dollar they can. An acquaintance of mine quit working for this dealership recently due to the lack of morals the company portrayed. I'd hate to know people are still being ripped off by this dealership. Please don't go here. read more

THERE IS ONE STAR BECAUSE THERE HAS TO BE! Surprisingly, my experience with Poughkeepsie Nissan was absolutely horrible. What was offered to me was NOT what I got and while in the literal term, yes, the manager I dealt with knew exactly what I was describing and I received nothing of the sort. Additionally, the car sat "ready" for me for a week while I was on vacation only to find out that something on the "WE OWE" sheet was left off and I had to bring it back in. Was told I would get a voucher for the excess miles driven back and forth, and that did not happen either. I did the manager a favor by rushing all of my insurance work to him by the last day if the month, because he said it would benefit the dealership. I was not respected, listened to and was quite frankly, taken advantage of. I am going to look into legally getting out of this lease or trading it in. This experience has turned a great fan of Nissan against the company in the future. I cannot say one good thing about my experience with Poughkeepsie Nissan and will NEVER be back. I will express my opinion on Yelp, The Better Business Bureau, Angie's List, social media and anywhere else I can think to warn others. I tried to ask to be worked with and instead, was pushed out. Worst mistake of my life, hands down. I was in such a rush to buy a car because my old one died and they took advantage. I went to the used car outlet and ended up spending more than I wanted. Then I noticed that the steering wheel wasn't aligned right so I brought it in to get adjusted but they wouldn't fix it so I had to bring it back another time!! I stopped in to get a new battery for my key fob and they told me I had to get a new key and and had to have my others programmed to it and it would cost $350.00. I was appalled by this but didn't think I had any other choice. And bye the way, the battery on my spare which I had never used was also dying. All this just a few months before my lease was up. I called the next day and made an appointment for a new key which is what I was told I needed.Afterwards I was told by many others that all I needed was a battery. I posted a complaint on their website and received a call from their service manager who wanted to give me $350.00 off my next lease. I told him that was unacceptable and he said he would see what he could do and get back to me. I never heard from him again. I left a message with the general manager and never heard back from him either. I made a complaint the attorney generals office and Nissans reply to them was that I never asked for a battery which was a lie. Yes, I called to make an appointment for a key fob because that was what they told me I needed. I will NEVER deal with these people every again. read more
