I mentioned that I booked for a wax. Didn't appear there was any effort going to be made to wax. She went on to explain why it's better and some of the advantages, but I had already done that research and thus booked wax. At this point I didn't have time to deal with this or reschedule as I had a trip the next day and still a lot to do. Sugar took way longer, cost more, and for me personally was not as pleasant an overall experience from waxing as they have to go over smaller patches. To each his own. The appointment time they set aside here for the one service is 1 hour. This location did not have quite the aesthetic I was hoping for. They are currently doing some construction on the other side so I'm not sure what it was like prior, but not the overall experience I was looking for. I've booked my follow up for Queen Bee in CA since I'll be out there (15-20 min service, cute place, $25 cheaper, and surprisingly pretty painless due to the wax they use). We had a wonderful time here during our girls' getaway weekend! The overall experience was incredibly relaxing, and the staff were warm and welcoming. It was the perfect way to unwind and enjoy some quality time together. The only downside for us was that there isn't really a dry, private area to change back into your clothes after using the pool and sauna. There are also no blow dryers available, so if you have plans afterward, I would recommend coming prepared. We had dinner reservations later that evening, so we brought our skincare and makeup to freshen up afterward and managed to tame our hair well enough to look presentable! A few small amenities, like a designated changing area and blow dryers, would make the experience even better. That said, they certainly didn't take away from how much we enjoyed our visit. Overall, we had a lovely and relaxing experience and would happily recommend it for a girls' trip or anyone looking for a peaceful little escape.

About half the time we visited PT, it was mostly to come to Soak on the Sound. We followed all the rules, sitting quietly and relaxing, and never had a problem. About a year ago, we came again for a soak and (although we both listened carefully for it like usual) somehow did not hear the chime to indicate our session was almost over. I had just whispered to my husband that our time was probably almost up when the attendant suddenly opened the door and looked directly in at me, sitting nude on the edge of the tub, and with evident frustration announced at full volume that we were over time. We of course rushed to leave. We let her know on the way out that there might be a problem with the chime in that room, as we did not hear it, and she made a snide comment about how we must be happy with all the extra time we got and rang the chime to "prove" it was working in that room. I appreciate the dilemma here, that it's a problem when people do not exit their sessions on time. However, with no way to tell time in the rooms and no second warning, customers exiting on time is totally dependent on a single, soft chime both working and being heard reliably. What if a customer is slightly hard of hearing, or the ambient noises in the room drown out the chime, and the customers can't hear it? Is the appropriate "punishment" to look directly in at them while they are (potentially) naked and treat them with frustration? We were honestly doing our best to hear it, as regular customers who want to be respectful of the space, and for whatever reason we didn't that time. We would have appreciated being given the benefit of the doubt, or at least averted eyes if the attendant had no other option but to enter the room. We came back once in the year or so since this happened, but honestly we were so worried that we'd miss the chime again that it was hard to enjoy ourselves.
