Beautiful soaking tub. Lacks a dry place to get dressed. Worse for me was a no blow dryer allowed policy. (Too loud per staff). We are traveling and had planned on sightseeing and going out to eat in Port Townsend after our soak. But, wet hair and damp clothes meant we had to go back to our camping site 30 minutes away. My husband and I had a magical and deeply restful time here a couple of years ago. We rented the room with the sauna (you can ladle eucalyptus-scented water over the hot stones to steam it up) and beautiful hot pool and were able to really relax and not do anything for an hour and a half. I would seriously recommend this as a way to get away from everything and be in a very warm, comfortable, gorgeously aquamarine space filled with hot saltwater. It's worth every penny. read more

TLDR: you are just a source of revenue to this company. You will not be treated well here. Go ANYWHERE else. I've been here a few times and previously I had a wonderful experience. However, I booked for the Valentine's Day special this year and I will not be going again. Their prices are already high considering the service you get. It's a huge tub for $100+ an hour... We drove in from Lynnwood for this reservation and wouldn't you know it, the bridge was out for about an hour. We called ahead to ask if our reservation could be moved up to give us time, and there were no more time slots left. We were informed "you're essentially paying for an empty tub. If you get here before your reserved time ends we are happy to honor the remaining time." We had spent quite a bit between the VDay package, and the other 3 times we had been there. We get there with 10 mins to spare, and we find that our room is not set up. They didn't expect us to make it! 2 of those 10 minutes are spent convincing the staff we deserve the time left that we paid for, 2 more were spent with them rushing to put the drinks and chocolate in the room, and in total we only had a few mins in the tub. So yeah, they'll treat you like an inconvenience, and will happily rush you/steal the time you paid for to convince you that "it's not worth it to get in for a few mins". Then be huffy they actually have to work. Unprofessional. Don't go here. Also, the VDay package is not worth it. They set up a few LED candles, you get a truffle each, and 2 small flutes of cheap champagne. For an extra $70 above the usual reservation. You can find better. read more

Oh my heavens this place is a heck yeah in my book. I try to do a night away to Port Townsend every year and almost always reserve myself an hour here. It is so relaxing, affordable, professional, calming and perfect. No shoes but yes service! Definitely purchase the coconut oil balm for after. Drinks are available; no outside food or drink. Go alone or with friends or loved ones. Relax in a salt water tub all to yourself for 40-50 minutes! Shower before and after (showers are in the hot tub rooms; bathrooms are off the lobby). I suggest getting out of the tub a bit early--before the bell--so you have more time to dry off, oil up, and dress before floating out into a blissful rest of your day. The soaking room has a large heated salt water soaking tub, personal sauna, and a Himalayan salt wall with a relaxing lounge chair. Low volume, relaxing music is piped in to your soak room. After hiking all over Fort Worden (and the week of stress we had before) this was a perfect way to relax. Used to be nice a place. Prior to covid, and the remodel, prices were reasonable. There was a shared pool and sauna room where everyone went nude and you could lounge around outside. Now, you must book overpriced private rooms. Staff aren't friendly and there is basically no talking allowed. Was yelled at last year (stern knocking) for putting on our own music (not loud) and talking (not loudly). This year, 2025 over memorial day weekend my bf and I booked a soak with drinks. The tub was not clean and there was hair left in it. The water smelled of bleach, Afterward, we both got a bad skin rash -I'm assuming from bacteria in the water. probably why they were using Bleach, idk. Biggest issue was that they have you take your shoes off at the door and all I could think about was how many other peoples bare feet and foot whatever (fungus) I may be exposed to. My third visit to soak on the sound even better than the first two! I really enjoyed coming during a colder month when the hot water chases away the autumn chill. I had a delicious kombucha, a private bath, and ordered a spoonful of balsam scented oil to rub into my skin afterwards. It's always over too soon but I sat on the patio enjoying my newly refreshed self before heading back out to the ferry. read more

We soaked in the Tide room. The ambiance was nice; loved the brick walls. The water and room appeared well cleaned and sanitized. We ordered the package that came with a drink. We will definitely come back and reserve the suite with the sauna during our next visit to Port Townsend. A visit to Port Townsend to experience Soak on the Sound has been on my getaway list for a while and we finally made it happen this past weekend. We enjoyed the amenities of the soaking suite quite a lot. We spent 75 minutes reading and lounging and alternating between tub, sauna, and salt nook. On the day we visited the ambiance was serene and quiet. SotS has since added a privacy curtain over the door to the lobby but I agree with others that surrounding buildings and potentially the deck could catch a glimpse of you. That didn't bother us but can see how others might find that uncomfortable. For those considering a 5+ person visit, I think this room would feel small with such a large group. There is one seat in the salt nook but otherwise nowhere to lounge that isn't either in the pool or in the sauna. Just my take on it. SotS uses a doorbell to alert you that you must vacate in 10 minutes. I am still unsure whether they rung our doorbell early or we heard another room's doorbell, but nevertheless, when we got dressed, we realized that we should have still had 15 minutes on our clock. It wasn't worth the effort to get undressed but we were disappointed that our experience was cut short, none the less. So, my advice is to keep your own time. ;) We really enjoyed PT and will likely be back, SotS will probably be on our list of things to repeat. read more

We came from Camas to celebrate our anniversary and spend time together away from our children for the first time. When we arrived to check in we were greeted by Angelina amd Martino Silva and told I booked our reservation for NEXT Friday. Before I could panic or cry I saw them both studying the schedule and with a smile was asked to come back in 40 minutes and they would accommodate us. When we came back they had the public room as a private suite for us and charged us the same price we were ready to pay previously. The room, the music, the obeisance was everything We relaxed, connected and already started planning our trip back. This was the start to our weekend here is Port Townsend and Angelina and Martino have already made our entire weekend. We are beyond grateful. read more

Brilliant experience, can't wait to make a return trip. The staff were exceptional in their helpfulness and by all appearances covid controls were fully being observed. I chose just the basic soak in a private room after a long camping trip. It was exquisite, and very clean. For being in a somewhat busy town, it was very quiet and serene. Did a 60 minute private soak for two with my girlfriend. You remove your shoes before walking into the room, get undressed, shower and then enter the bath. Man it's so relaxing. Be sure to drink plenty of water as the salt will dehydrate you! Felt great after leaving the place. read more

After reading some of the negative reviews I was a little concerned, but I really wanted to soak after a long hike so I gave it a try. I went in with lowered expectations based on other reviews about front desk staff, hearing noise from the front desk, potentially lack of private windows, and the wet floor/shoes off situation. My experience was much more positive! The front desk staff person was very friendly and welcoming. It did feel a little weird to take off my shoes at the entrance and be barefoot while using the bathroom and going to my tub room, but not the biggest deal. It would be nice if each room had a little shelf to take off your shoes right outside the room. My tub room was right next to the front desk and I heard a little bit of noise but it wasn't too disruptive. The windows had frosted glass so it felt private. Based on other reviews I made sure to dry off my feet as I left the room. Keep in mind the tubs don't have jets, so it's a soaking tub rather than a jacuzzi experience. Overall, it was a good experience but I felt it was a little pricey for what you get, so I may or may not go back. read more

We paid $107 for the valentine bath soak which came with "champagne and organic chocolates" as shown in photos we paid for baby cans of champagne (it was white wine) and two tiny chocolates. Adding on they don't allow you to wear shoes which is fine, we were not greeted until our shoes were off. But the least they could do is dry the dang floors!! We left with drenched socks! We seriously have never been so upset from a service. It was insanely hot in there to the point we couldn't even stay for the 30min. The tub was just standing water no jets or anything. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the lotion mask stuff that's it. We will not be returning or recommending this place. Such a waste of time and money. Such a shame. read more

Port Townsend continues to create environments that are fun and have an understated, easy elegance. A friend and I booked a soak while we were in Port Townsend to meet a friend for lunch. We booked for "happy hour" which features $5 off the price of a soak and $2 off alcoholic beverages (ciders, and whatnot). Perfect end to a perfect day in PT. Only suggestion for out-of-towners: you may want to bring a comb. There are none to buy (yet) and after soaking (and sweating) you may want to wash your hair. read more

I had been dying to come to this place for at least a year. My best friend and I decided to treat ourselves for a Galentines day spa day. We booked a 45 minute sauna for two for $88 and the soaking tub for two for around $125. The sauna was not even worth $20. The sauna was barely big enough for two, no room to stretch, and you have to sit straight up the entire time. The sauna will burn your back if it touches it. I had to use my towel for my feet to rest on because the floor was so hot. You are not provided with water, or a robe, or even a decent sized spa towel. Sitting straight up sweating with another person for 45 minutes straight was not how I imagined my $88 sauna experience. When we asked for a larger towel for my plus sized friend they provided a spa wrap which was barely any bigger. The soaking tub was okay, it was nice and relaxing. However, I feel that it was over hyped. The "serum" they treated us with that they usually charge for is just coconut oil. They provide shampoo and body wash only. All in all I prefer my epsom salt essential oil baths that I make myself on the regular. If you are looking for a real spa experience I recommend Skincare Suites in Port Angeles. Their steam room is affordable, luxurious, includes skincare and all shower needs, plus an essential oil blend of your choosing. I will not be wasting any money at Soak on the sound again. This review is only for the clothing optional experience for the communal tub. I can't speak for the massage because there is only one person on staff for the Friday we went so my man and I could not get one at the same time. We go to many clothing optional places as we are both nudists. And this was the strangest, most uncomfortable one we have ever been to. We left after less than an hour where we would normally stay at something like this for half a day or more..... Maybe we just had a bad group of people? There were two couples and an older gentlemen the hour we were there. NO ONE TALKED. Actually, it felt more like meditation or a spiritual journey for those people. The absolute silence made being around other people naked very awkward as there are side glances at each other but everyone keeps their eyes to the ground. The end of our awful experience ended with one of the couples (which after this: might have just been a meditation teacher and is protege) having a moment where she started to cry on his shoulder, he rubbed her back, and then she left after many thank yous and bows. Then he went into some sort of trance and started humming. So not our idea of relaxing or fun. Definitely wont be back and wont be able to recommend. *****but the staff was VERY nice! read more

While we do sometimes enjoy going here I feel that it is over priced, to be fair this is port townsend and everything is over priced. I wouldn't get a massage or service here based on their prices being significantly higher than any other massage therapist in this are. You have to double check that you're getting happy hour pricing, they won't always automatically give it to you. Also the pricing online doesn't match their booking site unless this has been updated. We always arrive on time or early but a couple times we haven't been given our tub until 10 minutes after our time starts and the end time is never adjusted. The staff are nice and the place is clean, since I don't have a hot tub at home it is nice to go occasionally. read more

I enjoyed the salt soak & dry sauna - but the "salt therapy nook" befuddled me....It wasn't heated and everything I've read (& experienced at past spas) tells me the salt wall should be heated. I called to tell their staff the next day because I forgot to tell them before I left as they were checking people in & the staff member said it wasn't supposed to be heated - it was just to "purify the air." This is confusing to me because I read that salt walls need to be heated to cleanse the air. So either their salt wall is broken and they're not going to repair it or they haven't set it up as it is in most other spas. Another negative is that they don't give you flip flops or sandals - so when you have to immediately remove your shoes and socks you end up walking around the entire place (including the bathroom!!!!) without any foot protection. This is also completely different than any other spa I've experienced. Given all this - I will probably still return again, someday. read more

I have been twice now for a massage/ soak day, so I feel ready to write a review. The concept is dead on. Soaking and massage should always go had in hand! I love the salt water in the tubs and I love the soak rooms! Super relaxing and definitely worth it. Here's where they let me down both times: the air temperature and light levels in the massage rooms don't allow your body to really relax into the massage. Massage rooms should be kept at 73-75 degrees if you're going to be unclothed, or your muscles never relax enough to get the full benefit, but both times my room Was 67-68 degrees... and the rooms are sooooo brightly lit. Darkness or dim lighting in massage rooms is a must. Additionally, the check in counter and lobby is right outside of the doors so you can hear the phones ringing, the conversations and all of the people coming and going. Definitely not good for relaxing during a massage. There is an awkward transition from the massage rooms to the soak tubs too (or visa versa depending on how you book it ) where you're standing in the lobby in a wrap, barefoot, standing on a cold floor, in cold air either waiting to go into your massage room, or waiting for your soak room. They could do a lot by turning up the heat, providing slippers, and instead of spa wraps, give people full robes for more discretion. Because standing in the lobby waiting for your room while other people are standing around you fully clothed and checking in or out is SUPER AWKWARD. And COLD!! I would have a little construction project on my hands if I owned the place to separate the people checking in from those who are already in robes, and I would also probably put in some radiant heat in the floor as well as turning up the air temp. I won't get another massage there, but I would do just the soak again. read more

Awesome experience! I was excited but not sure what to expect and it exceeded expectations. Nestled in beautiful downtown port Townsend this was a bonding and relaxing experience. I would HIGHLY recommend drinking lots of water in prep for this because if you don't you may get dizzy from the soak and the sauna so be careful. They do provide you with plenty of water I just wish I'd known to prep more. I do understand other reviews concerns with privacy in the suite. You are able to see silhouettes through the door and I wish the window had privacy film over both of them. But at no point did I feel exposed. Great experience will be coming back! read more

I will never return! I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews first!! The front desk woman (short with curly hair) was very rude. I asked for a second towel to dry my wet feet before putting on my shoes and told me to the just use the soaking wet one I used to dry off with. For goodness sakes is this not a bath house? If an additional towel is requested should it be provided?? It was not! Why don't just provide slippers? I felt rushed and pushed out. I will not recommend or return. Just horrible. read more

Booked and confirmed an appointment for a specific tub room. Checked-in on time for appointment. Without apology and without courtesy, was told the room I booked was given to another party. Told her I'd wait. She said I couldn't. Tried explaining that I have physical limitations and booked the specific room for a reason. Rude receptionist kept cutting me off, talking over me, and demanding that I pick another tub. Tried more than once to explain the reason for the room preference. She was unwilling to listen each time, mostly talking over me, even shrugging her shoulders to show how little she cared while I was talking. Really uncomfortable experience especially with other people in the lobby witnessing. Ended up in a room with configuration that aggravated my pain and discomfort. This place is so worth it that I take a ferry from Edmonds and drive 40 minutes to get there. Clean, quiet, gorgeous, healing waters. Massage from Abbey C is highly recommended too. She is fantastic. Listening to what a client needs is a huge part of the work. She has great intention when she works too. I cant say enough good about her! read more
