I tried the Pour Taproom for the first time and it was so great I went back the next week! I was intrigued by the concept but a little skeptical on how it would actually be. This is a serve yourself bar where you can pour what you want and however much you want if it! A very cool concept and really fun. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly host who was happy to explain the process and answer all of my questions. I put a cc on file and he gave me a card with a QR code. There were about 40 taps I would guess. They had wine, sangria, local beers, dark beer, sours, ciders, mead and seltzer! One you decide what you want to try (no pressure cause you a just get a little bit), you scan you QR code and the tap unlocks. You pay by the oz, and the prices seemed reasonable to me! I got to try a lot of things I would not typically order a whole glass of. For example, I love high-octane beers, but I was driving, so 2 oz was enough! We ordered some food from the his and they gave us a number and brought the food to us on the patio. Everything we had was good! Chicken wing dip covered French fries.... Ummm yes! The food was quick and we had no issues with the service. Everyone we talked to was very friendly. This is a great spot to bring your co-workers and friends downtown. It's fun and different with a chill and laid-back atmosphere. Not at all not intimidating or stuffy!

Pour Taproom is the newest edition to the Buffalo brew scene. Located off Franklin or Pearl depending how you are coming, in an area bustling with night life. It is a little tricky to find the first time around. It is beer and wine by the oz. So I will try to make this description as simple as possible. Here you are your own bartender. You check in at the front desk with your card to start a tab. They give you a badge which you use to purchase the beer or wine. The taps have a screen with the description of the beer or wine and how much it costs by the ounce. On the beer screens it says "beer me." You press that and then scan your badges QR code and then start pouring. What I like is that you can have as little or as much as you'd like from a pour. It let's you try multiple beers and wines. What a great concept. It also seems like a good business model because you are paying for samples as well. I came here late on a Saturday night after the Taste of Buffalo. The crowd was younger which is what you would expect for the night life in the downtown area. Can't wait until the theaters open back up, because this would be a great after theater spot. The place is loud and on my visit the music was alternative. Really what you would expect from a beer pub. And the best part is there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I would definitely return here.

Such a cool idea. Me and a couple girlfriends grabbed drinks and a couple flatbreads before heading to a concert at town ballroom. There was trivia just starting and wish we had known because we would've stayed for that if we didn't have other plans. There's a wide variety of drinks that you can self serve as much as you want - a taste or a few glasses LOL from wine/Prosecco, IPA's to cider, they had great options. The flatbreads were very tasty although the crust was a little bit too thin and cardboardy for my liking. Can't wait to try this place out again!

What a new and unique place! I was thrilled to hear about this new experience and had to check it out for myself. Pour Taproom is a new concept where guests can pour their own drink, taste anything they would like and decide how much of each beverage they would like to pour themself. There are mostly craft beers but also hard seltzer's, hard ciders, wine and sparkling wines available. Upon entering each guest is given an RFID card which is linked to a credit card. From there you are free to grab a glass, scan your card and start trying whatever you choose. There is a price per ounce along with a drink name and description listed on each tap. Their motto is that this is a beer and wine fest everyday and I can't think of anything more true! Staff is helpful and on site to give pour demos, offer suggestions and change out empty kegs. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. The inside has some cute and fun decorations and is great for casual group meet ups. There is also a funky and colorful Buffalo mural above the taps which adds character to the interior. The outdoor seating is a decent sized patio. There is a good menu as well but we didn't try it this time. I tried the cotton candy hard seltzer which was not too sweet but still had the flavor of my favorite carnival treat and some of the flat and sparkling rose' wines which were clean and refreshing. Super fun place. I recommend coming through next time you are in the area.

This is such a cool idea. Loved this place! I went here with a friend for drinks before a concert at Town Ballroom. You get a key card with a QR code on it to scan at each tap. This is how they track your bill. And you just turn in the key card on your way out! We had so much fun trying out all the different taps. They have a little of everything- wine, cider, different types of beer. It's all help yourself. I will definitly come back for their different events and try their food.

A brand new taproom opens -- right near shea's, it's pour taproom!! The gimmick here is that instead of bartenders, there are a bunch of different beers that you scan a QR code on to purchase and then pull a lever (almost like froyo). As far as gimmicks go, this is a pretty good one and it has a wide variety of beers, ciders and wines. The breweries are also really good -- other half, equilibrium etc. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor space but it was pretty packed when we showed up so it might take you a bit to scout out a spot. I can't attest to the food, but it seemed decent. I think I'd come here mostly to drink.

I'm starting to become a regular here it seems! Stopped in again last night with my fiance and some friends who hadn't been in yet. We had a blast as always and they were so happy we brought them there. The selection is ever changing and I found a new favorite sour last night. This is the perfect place for pre or post dinner drinks. Last night we came after dinner and were able to snag a table luckily even though it was very busy. The staff was once again very helpful and friendly.

We made it out to Buffalo's first self-serve taproom today, where we were treated to delicious food and drinks. It's such a fun concept, and the decor is cute and locally themed. The food menu lets you build your own deli sandwich, burger, or chicken sandwich, in addition to offering traditional starters and salad. The beers on tap change frequently, but they have a variety of local and national offerings.

The novelty of pouring your own beer isn't new to me because I've been to a few bars like this on the West Coast so the initial gimmick didn't hide the terrible taste of the beers. I'm not sure if the Co2 keg was out or what but every beer I tried tasted flat. The other people we were with said the same. There was definitely something wrong. The people who worked there seemed so annoyed by everyone which was a buzz kill. They also don't sanitize the bracelets that you wear to scan your QR code to get a beer which is nasty especially in today's day in age. Cool concept if you've never done it before but if you're looking to taste a bunch of craft beers you're better off going to a brewery.

It is a top notch restaurant that uses high quality and fresh ingredients and adds gourmet touches that are higher end but still work for the Buffalo crowd. And the portions are usually generous. I like it here but a lot of the menu options don't work for my diet. So when I come it's for someone else's occasion but it's still very much a treat. I will say that the staff is always accommodating and helpful to ensure I find something to eat. Most recently I was able to enjoy a delicious special that was grilled prawns with mescaline and vinaigrette, supremed oranges and grapefruits and artichoke hearts filled with herbed goat cheese. It was delicious and filling enough I was able to eat it as my main. The flavors were unique and blended well together. I was full but it was still light. The herbed goat cheese stuffed artichokes were delicious and a real treat. I'd hope to have them another time. The citrus fruit touches were a nice contrast to the richness of the cheese. If you want a delicious meal and a nice place for a date or girls night definitely check this place out.

We ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer, the Carrot Papardella, and the Penne w/ grilled steak "au poivre". So good! The bread with the tomato sauce was fresh and the sauce had an amazing flavor. The stuffed mushroom with artichoke stuffing was very rich and flavorful. Lots of stuffing. The Carrot Papardella had large chunks of fresh seafood and great sauce. The penne with steak was very good. The marsala sauce was very rich and filling but flavorful with that sweet marsala wine sauce. Steak was tenderly cooked perfectly. The waiter brought out a great slice of complimentary birthday caramel ganache cake. Great surprise. Our water glasses were never empty, the bread was plentiful and the meal was so tasty, fresh and flavorful. This place has a good amount of seating but reservation recommended for busier times. It's a nice dining room with a bar at the entrance of the restaurant. They have daily specials and rotating dessert specials. Highly recommended and always worth the visit!!

Dim lighting, chic decor, and an intimate atmosphere make it perfect for date night or a girls night. It just feels elevated without being too stuffy. Food-wise, they've been super consistent every time I've gone. I tried frog legs for the first time here and was honestly surprised by how much I loved them, definitely better than expected. The escargot and oysters were also delicious, and the drinks have been just as solid across the board. The beef bourguignon wasn't my thing but I think that was a preference thing. I don't particularly love braised shortrib and it was a shared dish with my friend. I'm giving 5 stars because my most recent visit really stood out, the service that afternoon was amazing, and our waiter even sang happy birthday to my friend (I wish I remembered his name because he deserves the shoutout). It made the whole experience feel so special, and I'll be including a video because it was such a great moment. That said, if I'm being completely honest, I'd rate it more like a 4.5 overall. The other two times I visited, the service was good but not as attentive or friendly as this last experience. Still, between the consistently great food, drinks, and the beautiful atmosphere, it's absolutely worth it, and I'll definitely be back again.

While we had a 5pm reservation, in hindsight it probably wasn't necessary as we were seated right away and quickly greeted by our server, Allie G. To start, I ordered the Apple Cider Mule (mocktail) which was festive and delicious while my brother went for the Logan Mule (so Buffalo). Naturally, we wanted bread (what I thought was a given in an Italian restaurant). Sadly, it was $3 for warm bread, which felt a little rude, but of course I ordered it and devoured it, too! I also started with the mushroom bisque that was on special and it was fantastic as it was rich, flavorful, and the kind of soup you want to eat slowly so it lasts longer. For my entree I chose the Crespelle while my brother got his favorite, the Brasciole. The food was truly the highlight of the evening. Everything was prepared well and very, very satisfying. I would say that the service, unfortunately, left a bit to be desired. Not terrible, but not great. I hate having to ask another server to bring a box, the check, etc. because our server was no where to be found. The sauce left much to be desired and a basic jarred sauce is more enjoyable. The shrimp were properly cooked, but the risotto did not shine. The dish lack cohesion and it was as though they cooked rice and tossed it in a flavorless sauce. The accompanying lobster sauce was desperately needed, but underdeveloped. The dish needed significant seasoning improvements.
