Do you like beer? Murphy Brown's has all the beer. First and foremost, they've got a great draftlist. This isn't just a selection of the hoppier than yours IPAs. They've got a varied and awesome list of sours, saisons, Belgians, bocks, hefeweisens, and pilsners...and a TON of stouts, which I love. The majority hail from New York State (including Threes, which I'm happy to see up here), but there aren't shy about bringing in quality from other places (Mikkeller, Alesmith, Allagash, etc.). You can get various sizes of all these beers, as well as flights if you're indecisive, or growlers to go if you've got to drink beer elsewhere. If that isn't enough, they have a surprisingly extensive collection of bottles as well. Other Things Murphy Brown's Has: 1. Excellent food. All kinds of sausages, burgers, pretzels, pizzas...you know, the things you want to eat when you're drinking beer. OK, I didn't eat anything but the air-fried wings because I'm watching my figure (everyone knows that things fried in air are healthy), but the nice bartender/owner let me know it's his wife's recipe and I imagine the high quality extends to the rest of the menu. 2. The focus here is beer. They not only serve many craft beers at the bar, but they also have a small store on site where you can pick up something to take home with you. They also have refrigerated beer. Theres a nice seating area with couches and a fireplace and they have a patio for the hot summer nights. They have a handful of wines and ciders but it's mostly about the beer. It's not a full bar. Maybe my new to go spot. Great selection and variety of beers on tap at decent prices. The food menu is limited but looks tasty. I only ordered the pretzel sticks which were about the same quality as you expect from other places that offer them. Came with a mustard and creole mustard, needs a beer cheese on the side, will need to suggest that. Staff accommodated me when the kitchen was closed and still served them which is a rarity around here. Seemed like some good Bills specials on Sunday and a $5 dollar blue burger on Tuesday I need to try. Bartender was knowledgable and helpful. small tastings were offered before purchase. The bar itself is really nice and a good spot to hang with friends. There is a small area with leather couches to lounge in but was monopolized all night by the same group. I heard from girls in the group that there was fancy hand lotions in the bathroom which they all came out smelling with it on. There is a solid selection of craft beers to purchase in cans or bottles which included a couple hard to gets in the area. Stopped in after a day of shopping. The perfect way to end a busy day! Cozy pub, very nice people, yummy food and great beer selection!! I had a stout, coffee flavored, so good! Can't recall the beer name but asked the bar keep to pick out something dark with a Carmel/coffee flavor and she did! Mmm! We enjoyed delicious sandwiches : sausages on pretzel buns while sipping our beer listening to a talented young man strum his guitar and sing some old tunes. It was fun! Super cool and cozy place! A great place to grab a beer on a lazy hazy Saturday. Super glad my friends recommended we meet up at this place! I had a flight of 3 and they shared a flight of 6. Awesome selection to choose from. I liked how there was multiple seating choices, bar area, pub high tables, comfy couch area and outdoor patio. They even had nice selection of beer in cans and bottles for purchase to go as well. If you are a beer fan like me, it's worth a visit. I think there were anout 25 beers on tap. Though the name "emporium" evokes a Willy Wonka-esque vision in my mind, I really did have a great time at Murphy Brown's last weekend. They're located in a newer strip plaza on Main Street in Clarence, so there's plenty of parking. There's a side room next to the main bar area, used for private events...so when we arrived and the crowd was singing "Happy Birthday", it threw us off a little bit! We weren't sure if the place was closed for a private function or not. Regardless, we made our way to an open spot at the bar and perused the beer selections. They had 25 taps I believe, many of which were beers I had never had before. My boyfriend and I got a flight of 6 to share. My favorite was the Orkney Skull Splitter Scotch ale, but I also really liked the Founders ReDANKulous Imperial Red IPA (a whopping 10% ABV). Along with the extensive tap list, they also offer a small pub menu-- we ordered fries to share. Their fries were okay, but coated too heavily with salt. I did really like the 2 dipping sauces that accompanied the fries however-- zesty orange and sweet bourbon mustard (yum!). In addition to being a craft beer bar, they're also a bottle shop, so it was fun to peruse their selection once we were ready to leave. Comparatively to other bottle shops I've been to in the area, the selection was small, but still impressive. Beyond the bottle shop area, there is additional seating available...it's kind of cut-off awkwardly from the rest of the establishment, but seemed to be a nice place for those with younger children to sit and relax. I think Murphy Brown's is a great place to casually hang out with a group of friends, while at the same time being exposed to some different beers. I don't mind that they had TV's in the bar area...but I hope they don't steer to much towards being a sports bar, rather than a craft beer destination. read more

This place has potential, but the bartender (owner?) was so incredibly rude and unhelpful - he actually seemed annoyed we were there. The food was overpriced. Their chicken wing pizza was lukewarm and didn't even seem cooked all the way. The Murphy Brown's beer cheese, came out in a tiny blue cheese sized cup with a couple pretzel bites. We talked with the owner most of the time we were there and he was very nice. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I did try one. They had wines as well, but common, who gets wine at a brewery ? I forgot the name of the one I had but it tasted like chocolate , and I love chocolate , so it was right up my ally. My friend got a cider and that was really good. The cutest little bar/restaurant no one knows about! The staff was so friendly and apologized for any bumps in service (the delivery truck had arrived as soon as we'd placed our order and they were short-staffed). I really appreciated that the owner himself came and delivered our food when it was ready and answered all the questions we had about the place and the beers they had on tap. Speaking of beers, the list is pretty extensive, and the bartender was really understanding when we accidentally ordered the wrong beer and requested another one. Lastly they have an assortment of furniture and games to play while you're there to help keep big groups entertained. They also have a fireplace in the corner to warm up in the winter. My boyfriend and I recently went to test drive some cars when we stumbled upon this place along the way. As soon as we were done he wants to go check it out. It's in a cute new little plaza with a few other shops. We walked in and it was pretty quiet, a couple of men at a tall table and a few couples enjoying some beers at the bar. We were happily greeted by a man and woman who were helpful with the beer selections. The cool thing about this place is that once a beer runs out they don't tap the same beer, they tap something completely new in replace of it! They were out of a fair amount of them and weren't tapping anything new until later in the day but there was still a large selection. This is also a beer store, pretty similar to a beer store in PA that I visited not too long ago. They have just about any craft beer you can imagine and even keep a fair amount of them in the cooler. They offer flights of 3 or 6, as well as assorted sizes (tasters, half pints, pints.) Really pretty and "lodgey" cozy feel inside. We've driven by this place a bunch of times, and finally had the opportunity to stop in, and I'm so glad we did! This pub serves a variety of sandwiches and snacks, all of which looked great. We had just come from dinner, so we didn't try anything, but I would definitely save some room the next time we pop in. While it looks smaller from the outside, there is a decent sized bar, along with a variety of tables in two different rooms. They had shuffleboard and bubble hockey as well. The beer selection was great, and they had a nice combination of local brews, as well as some other great beers and ciders. They also have wine too. The bartenders and patrons alike were friendly, and great to talk to. The Pub also has a section for retail, selling many different beers and ciders. We were looking for a place to grab a drink and a bite and this place wound up being perfect. Don't expect to come here for a large menu though, for awareness. There was a party in the main dining area so we sat at the bar. They did not have table service but that was fine, you picked your food and your beer and then ordered at the bar. They then brought the food out to you. With living in Europe the hubby was happy to see their beer selection met his interests. However, I have to say I was surprised by the food. Because my better half is a soft pretzel freak, we had to get those and they are amazing. The dough was light with just the right crust on the outside. The beer cheese had a unique taste and combined perfect with the salt of the pretzel. We also opted for the bratwurst pizza. Who does that? Well Murphys Browns does and they do it quite well. I was worried that the sauerkraut would be overpowering with everything else but added a really nice flavor. Should you go to Clarence for a beer? If its Murphy Brown's, then YES. First and foremost: does it have good beers YES but are they as good as the usually beer bars YES (perhaps even better). I would say this is a beer bar first and a bottle shop second. Normally bottle shops have tons of beer and 5 taps with 5 stools. This is full on bar with (I think) 20 taps stools, tables, leather chairs, and yes a shuffle board. They do have food but I didn't try any so I can't speak to that. They had all types of beers and some rare ones I have only seen in Vermont. I was very surprised by the selection and very pleased. So if you want to venture out to Clarence or you already live East of Transit check this place out. You will love it! read more

The bartenders are always super friendly and great for recommendations. They also allow you to purchase growlers, and various 6-packs they have in stock. The atmosphere is cozy, yet plenty of room to spread out. Would highly recommend attending Blues Night every Tuesday for live music. Also, although the menu is pretty limited, order some food! We hosted a small party in the back room here, my husband loves this place and so do I. The beer selection is outstanding and atmosphere is warm and fuzzy. We provided the food for our guests which was tasty and featured pretzels and was affordable. Guests could purchase drinks through the window to the bar while in back room. Only suggestions would be: a printed beer list for folks in back room so they don't have to walk out to order and a way to plug in an iPod so party throwers can play DJ. We will go back!! read more

Everyone who lives in Clarence has probably seen this new block on the corner of main and Goodrich. It is pleasant and wonderful for the community. My experience at MB was not like the others who had positive experiences. My drinks were great but food was sub par compared to others places in area. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that it had a limited menu but the selection/taste was not very good. Will def try going to MB for drinks but their food needs some work before i order some more.
