They deserve zero stars. After buying top appliances from Marsillios, I expected their recommended delivery service would not have been the worst hire ever experienced over the last 45 years of renovating homes. I experienced damage to floors, cabinetry, copper water supply line cut and crimped necessitating a SubZero service call upon installation...unprofessionalism, rudeness, no response to phone calls until Bill's was prompted by Sub Zero area representative Joe K. I contacted to refund the installation charge and take care of the floor damage (once that's known). I told Joe and another Sub Zero rep who both agreed: Bill's has DISDAIN for the customer who expects delivery without damage...Katie S., Bill's assistant said "We don't provide floor protection, that's up to the customer"...so why didn't you let me know this by email or phone when I called the week before scheduled delivery and left a message: "I'm sure if Marsillios recommended you for a Sub Zero delivery, that you bring floor protection...please call me to confirm." I never heard from them so was shocked when the delivery team demanded I provide sand so they wouldn't slip on the 2 wet steps leading into the foyer (which took hours to vacuum up after scratching the wood floors) and my own floor protection which I expected they would provide. I didn't have brown masonite board on hand. They don't have them on their trucks (unless they have since been pressured by Sub Zero to conform to their standard practices). When the dolly holding the Sub Zero...not the right equipment we now know for this size refrigerator but is all Bill's has... pivoted, the floors were deeply gouged to the point of requiring $1300 of labor/materials to replace the boards to reinstate me to my former position (a reasonable expectation all agreed). The attitude of Marsillios, whose owner never returned my calls in spite of staff who say things like "mistakes happen in the course of deliveries" and "I'll have him get back to you"...my response: "mistakes don't have to happen if they're professional and take steps to avoid damages by being prepared for the delivery...and abide by the Sub Zero delivery guidelines since Bill's is a certified installer". And then I tell them about my research with the California equivalent of Clarke's: Bill's should have floor protection on his trucks, he should get photos of the job -- kitchen, spaces between delivery entry point and kitchen location of appliances, outdoor entrance -- so they come prepared. They usually make a site visit before installation but photos are needed at a minimum. These sound like the steps Bill's should take. Perhaps now he does have floor protection on his trucks at a minimum, since I called Sub Zero to oversee this so future customers don't go through what I did...but if you still choose to hire him to install an appliance of any quality/price point...I wouldn't let him step foot in your house unless there is advance attention given to your job. By the way, our refrigerator location is only 5 feet away from the foyer back door...so damage can happen in a short distance. Joe K.'s boss contacted Bill's and then responded to me (no phone call to discuss; just a terse email repeating Bill's lie to him) that nothing needed to be done because Bill told him that "I've been trying to work with her". "Working with her" means talking with me; didn't happen. The boss obviously wants to keep Bill's happy and not make waves, as does Marsillios who likes the arrangement that Bill's comes to their warehouse to pick up the appliances prior to to delivery using a box truck for a package price that includes taking away the old appliances. Some installation folks want the appliances to be on site before they arrive to install. This Bill's advantage to the appliance stores is what keeps him getting more jobs...so everyone is complicit: Bill's can get away with not playing by the Sub Zero rules. The appliance stores don't want random delivery people picking up appliances and risking transport damage. Delivery and installation people require different skill sets however. Regarding Bill's lie that "I've been trying to work with her". I spoke with Bill twice. The first time was when the damages were acknowledged by Bill (probably after Joe K. called him): "I hear you aren't happy with my job...I can send my repair guy to touch up (I declined, opting for my cabinet guy) and reimburse your installation (amount $810)". I told him makes sense given overall experience and damages, but what about extensivefloor damage cost which may take a while for floor guy to get here and do estimate. He said he would take care of it. 2nd call was to tell him the total floor amount of $1292.46, I said that his paying $1K labor would be fine, I'll cover the wood ($292.46)...I will mail you the estimate. Shockingly, I received a check for $190 ($1K-$810). I hired another installation person with that $810...who was to pay for the gouged wood floor labor? read more

We had a particularly complicated installation of a double wall oven: the new one was larger than our original. Bill's crew first came to measure to make sure it would fit, and then did a great job installing it. The team was quick and very professional. I'd absolutely use them again, and recommend them to friends. read more

I bought a new over the stove microwave form Hallocks and they use Bill's for all their delivery and installation. When I read the reviews, it looks like most of the local stores also use them. I was a little concern seeing some of the reviews, however I did not have much of a choice. They contacted me on Thursday for a Saturday install and gave me a 4 hour window. 10-2. I like the fact that they called me two days in advance, so I was able to plan my day. On Saturday I got a call at 9:45 from the installer that he was on his way. Got to my condo , and finished everything thing by 10:20 He was professional and did not make a mess. He took everything away, set my clock and gave me information about the microwave. They installed a new Sub-Zero French Door model refrigerator for me today. They WORKED HARD TO FIT ME INTO THEIR SCHEDULE and gave me a time of arrival that really worked for me. Bill's Installers were recommended by Pages Hardware in Guilford to install our replacement garbage disposal; I couldn't have been happier with the superbly professional, timely & helpful way the two experts who came out took care of the install. Our garbage disposal had broken spectacularly mid-disposal so there was a lot of gunk & the pipes were clogged. The guys took care of it all brilliantly. Please see the handy work of Bills Home Care """" Professionals"""" Their driver and service people were rude before even showing up. When they did, they paid no attention to their surroundings. They pulled the cable, phone and electric lines down with their truck. They did not apologize, the did not bother calling their office and they acted as if nothing happened and they were doing us a favor. In most companies their actions would be a fireable offense. In this one, it's just another day in the office. When in the home they seemed confused and decided to move electrical appliances around that had nothing to do with the item being installed. It's to bad 1 is the lowest rating you can give. I'd shoot for -5 on this one. The word Professional in their name is a joke and something they have no idea the meaning of or the right to be allowed to use in any manor. Several attempts to contact Bills dispatch were futile. This review is for the delivery and install of a dishwasher on a Saturday morning. The installers nicely called me 30 minutes ahead of the delivery time. They promptly removed the old dishwasher and made necessary electrical outlet and drain tubing changes as the previous installation by another company had not been up to code. They nicely installed the new Fisher Paykel 2 drawer dishwasher. The two men on this install were professional , communicative, careful and swift. Would willing do business with them again. This is probably the worst company ive ever had come into my home. They do not respond to phone calls, only emails. And even that takes days. They were 2 hours late to an already 4 hour time window. They installed my gas stove incorrectly, they are absolutely useless. Do yourself a favor, and skip to the next company. read more

Bills service was excellent! They arrived on time, came in to review the surroundings and decided how to remove our 42 inch refrigerator and move in our new one. I needed the vent exhaust changed from the back to the bottom. Bills was referred to me by an appliance store. They cancelled the first appointment. They gave me a 3 hour window. The window came and went without a call. I called them to cancel. They showed up a half hour late. I didn't answer the door. A business that has the word Professional in their title should act accordingly. Not sure how they stay in business after reading the other reviews here. read more

My in-laws received a new range from Sears last week but the 'white glove' service didn't provide a power cable and didn't do the conversion from gas to propane (the latter was expected). The guys from Bill's professional came to finish the installation. They did the propane conversion and did the necessary modification and installation of the power cable. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They communicate perfectly on time frames etc, well in advance, and on the day of install, also. The two guys that delivered my new gas stove (Steve and Steve) were superb! They were fast, efficient, careful and attentive. They will not leave unless you are completely satisfied, answering any questions. Once the dishwasher was delivered to my house, the installation was professional, efficient, and the two gentlemen that installed the dishwasher were polite and friendly. The problem occurred prior to the delivery . . . I was left two voicemails from this office (on my home and cellphones) on Thursday that the delivery window for my appliance was on Saturday between 9:00 and 12:00 pm. At 11:30 am, I called to find out the status of my delivery and left a voicemail message as no one answered. I made 3 additional calls and left 3 additional voicemails with no responses over the next hour or so. I also called the company I purchased the dishwasher from (who kept assuring me that the company was reputable) 3 times and they tried to reach the company as well with no responses either. I waited until 3:00 pm. In total I waited 6 hours for a 3-hour window in which I was NEVER contacted. I finally got a phone call at 5:30 pm on Saturday night--interrupting my evening plans--to say that they were sorry about what happened and reschedule. This is not how a "professional" business should operate. I will never use this company for delivery again! read more

Had a bad experience with this company two years ago. Was hesitant when I was informed by Page's in Guilford they would be installing my subzero and wolf range. Figured I'd give them another chance. I should've noticed that this so-called business had no website nor hours of operation posted. This should've been my first sign that this was a very shady operation. My installation window was between 2o'clock and 6 o'clock. At five or six I decided to call and double check if they were still on their way. No one answered and no one ended up showing up. I can't wait to call it this company and deal with them. I can already tell their customer service is horrible. I wish I could give them less than a star. read more

The management company that takes care of the condo I rent hired this company to come and replace a dishwasher for me. The company called me a couple days before they were supposed to come out to see if the date and time would work for me. They gave me a 4hr window (which I've come to know is typical for these type of companies) which was from 12-4. They called around 2pm saying they were 5 minutes away and showed up promptly. When they came they parked in my neighbor's assigned spot (they aren't marked) but were happy to move their truck when I asked. They had my old dish machine out and my new dish machine installed and up and running in about 15 minutes. The two gentlemen were really sweet and personable and seemed to work efficiently together (one worked on getting the old one out while the other brought the new one in). I saw a lot of negative reviews for this company and I feel people are more so inclined to write reviews when they have a bad experience versus a good one, so I just wanted to share my experience. read more

I was concerned when I read the bad reviews and they didn't come at the time they were scheduled to come and no one answers the phone at the business. They never call you back and that's a heck of a way to conduct a business. But when the guy finally showed up he was wonderful. He completed the installation and hauled off the old machine and was friendly and efficient and did a great job. So now should I feel bad about the messages I left for Bills professional installations? Well, I don't because they work out of the house and could've picked up the phone or called me back, they could've call the driver and then returned my call with an approximate arrival time.no need for all the anxiety and such when all they had to do was call back or answer the phone and you KNOW they heard the messages. Not a way to do business. I gave this 3 stars because John, the fellow who did the work was excellent. But the company not so much. No communication skills but John, the technician was a really good guy. If you use this company ask for John to complete the work. read more

Bill's Home Care Professionals was contracted by Hallock's in West Haven to install a new gas dryer in my home, prior to my move in date. I paid $150 for the installation. Despite being given a 6 hour window of time for installation, the installer was at least an hour late. That's a long period of time to be hanging out in an empty house waiting for someone to show up. Two days later when we moved in, I smelled gas. Someone from Bill's Home Care Professionals was again dispatched to my home, and was again late, arriving 40 minutes after the window of time I had been provided. This second installer told me that yes, I did have a leak. The cause? The valve hadn't been tightened. He said it was barely hand-tightened. That's just gross incompetence. I have a baby. Don't use this service. The two employees I dealt with were both late and unprofessional (although the second person at least seemed competent). It's not worth your life, and that is what you're risking. read more

Their service came with a Sears' installation. The day before, Bill's Home Care called (a woman's voice) and gave us the time parameters for the appointment. The gentleman who showed up - Edison - was most pleasant and knowledgeable and very efficient. The appointment was scheduled for noon to 4 pm. He called around 11:25am and asked if it were okay for him to come earlier. Now THAT has never happened to me before. Edison removed our old dishwasher and installed the new dishwasher - making sure it was flush with the cabinets and level - something that was not done in the previous installation. We are very satisfied with the work done, and would recommend Bill's Home Care Professionals to anyone wanting appliance installation. read more
