To whomever may be reading this review, I only write reviews if an experience has left me thoroughly impressed or disappointed. Unfortunately, in this case, it was the latter. As I was preparing to write this review, I actually saw another one star review from someone else. It was posted a month before mine and they had the exact same experience as me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Abysmally poor communication, long wait times, missed deadlines and shocking unprofessional behavior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Upon hiring this company, we were told the process would take 2-3 weeks maximum. It took 5 weeks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During this process, we would routinely receive requests for information via an email in the morning. We would always reply immediately. However, we would not receive a response for 24-48 hours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oftentimes, we would send them information only to have them ask us for the same information again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, no one answers the phone. I would have to call 8-12 times, on average, before someone picked up the phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most of the time, as I was calling, our account manager Jeffrey would text and tell me that he would call me back. Which means that he and whoever was present in the office knew I was calling and simply ignored my calls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After missing a promised deadline by a week, I asked our account manager Jeffrey for a telephone conversation more than half a dozen times. He blatantly ignored my requests and I have the text messages to prove it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After the missed deadlines, the horrible communication, and the unprofessional behavior from Jeffrey, I wanted to speak to someone in charge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called, and called and called and called some more. Until finally, after another dozen calls, Katie picks up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I tell her that I want to speak with Jeffrey's supervisor directly. She tells me that his name is Marc and he is the owner. She then refuses to give me any of his contact information.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only after a second conversation with her and after asking if she thought denying a paying customer an avenue to air their grievances was a good business practice, did she finally give me his email.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I immediately emailed Marc who replied that he would "investigate" my complaints and follow up to set up a phone call with me. He sent me an email three days later which basically excused his employee's behavior. And, of course, he did not set up a phone call with me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Do not use this company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have had the worst experience. This is a total waste of money[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I have been paying clos to $400 per month for the last year and the chart of accounts is still incorrectly set up. I cannot speak to a bookkeeper because they are located over seas. The account managers located in the US are not informed or educated in accounting therefore cannot answer the simplest of questions. I have also had 4 account managers over the last year as they seam to be temporary sales people. RIP OFF!!! Additionally, I canceled the service in July and am still being charged 2 months later and unable to reach anyone at the main number. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!.............[[HIGHLIGHT]]I have had the worst experience with this company.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have an American sales person, Katelynn who promises you everything and acts like she is an accountant and the owner of the company and in charge. Once they make the sale you never here from this person again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the bookkeeping work is done in India, where the person there once again promises you anything you want to hear but does not deliver any useful information in the way of your books. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Communication is not good. It is impossible to visit with anyone over the phone or with the company owner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The CPA that they assigned to me to do my taxes had significant diabetic health issues and gave me back the most crazy tax return you could ever imagine. I am sure it did not help due to the books that were in complete chaos that they gave to him to do them with. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You could get him on the phone but he would tell you anything you wanted to hear and then would stop communicating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They then assigned a new CPA to me, and he also finally gave up a few days before taxes were due. I finally had to find a local CPA to do my taxes as an emergency that ended up being almost a month past tax day before they were completed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was a very bad experience, is all I can tell you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will never use an online firm again. Go local so you can walk into an office if things are not going well. It is too easy to sell you on anything they like and not deliver when you don't have to ever look someone in the eye, especially when the people doing all the work are in India. TOTAL SCAM OPERATION!! They masquerade as CPA's and ACCOUNTANTS TO GET YOU TO SIGN UP. They then outsource all your personal information to INDIA!! Yes!! You read that correctly!! Ask them!! If they say no, they are LYING!! Took my for $600 and asked yo immediately cancel after I could see how crooked and unprofessional they were. Lady said she would fully refund and cancel me, BUT NEVER DID!! So I filed a chargebac on my CHASE CARD, which somehow (mind blown) they WON!! I literally got ZERO SERVICES ANS LOST $600!!! I FILED BBB COMPLAINTS, federal consumer affairs, and anywhere I can spread the word until they rightfully refund me my $600!! This WONT END AS LONG AS IM ALOVE OR THEY REFUND ME. I moved my bookkeeping from 1800accountant to PoweredBooks in early 2017. I am VERY happy with PoweredBooks, and have never had a bookkeeper this easy to work with. Jordan who handled the sales and contract phase was very pleasant and accommodating. But the real superstar is Rina. She has such a great attitude, explains things slowly and clearly (several times when I need it), and never balks at special requests. I sent her a humongous list of things I wanted to be changed / done a different way, and was worried she would object to some of the more minor nit-picks I had.......but instead, she wasn't even phased, said the list was nothing compared to some others she received, and said she would take care of it as quickly as possible (which they did). Rina is very understanding, and has a way of explaining things that really puts me at ease. I've recently been working with Nova at Powered Books. I'm a small business owner who needed to get organized with both my business financials AND my personal financials. I checked around other places and it seemed like it was a such a big deal to have my personal financials balanced in addition to my business. For me, this was a 'deal killer'. I had to get both done. Additionally, I wanted to use QB online. It was affordable and easy to review on my iPhone. All the places I contacted prior to Powered Books cost an arm and a leg...very pricey...and they just didn't want to accommodate my personal bookkeeping needs. Well, I feel very fortunate to have found Powered Books. They've been easy to communicate with...books are always up to date, very affordable, and professional. I will say this though...when you start...especially if you're not accustomed to using QB, be patient. It takes time to bring your books current and for you to understand how it all 'comes together'. Once you get past that initial phase, things will be great. It just takes some time to get acquainted with the QB eco-system, etc. I would strongly recommend working with them.
