I have been attending classes here since 2018. The studio has a variety of classes and a good mix of instructors. I love the focus on the movement, speed, and lots of heat! Many of the classes focus on form, balance, and strength. They have many types of classes, workshops, and instructors. There's something for everyone and you will easily find your favorite. Classes can get busy at prime times especially Saturdays(duh) and during their 20/30 months. Give it a try, and see if it's a fit for you. read more

I love Ann at this location!! Her classes are a great balance of form and vigor, they push you without overdoing it. I feel like my form and understanding of my body progress a lot. I come here when visiting my parents in Chatham and I love it! The studio I normally go to mostly focuses on vinyasa (which I love!), but I also like the variety of flows I can get here. I had never practiced Jivamutki and I attended Jeff's class for the first time on a Sunday. He made it very entertaining, fun and challenging (yet accessible). The class was packed, so he clearly has a big following. The studio is spacious, well decorated and clean with a cold water cooler, showers and a changing room. The client base trends more middle age, but everyone is friendly and it's a nice change of pace from the millennial crowd I see every day in Hoboken! Definitely recommend! read more

Huge studio with fantastic instructors! I stop into this studio a few times a month on my way home from work to take classes specifically with Janice Liou and Emma Kealy although I've taken a few others and all were good. If I lived in the area, I'm sure this would be my primary studio. If you want a challenging, sweaty, and unique yoga flow, I would highly recommend this studio! Janice's flows are super fun but tough (in the best way) since she likes to throw a little bit of everything in there. She also has great energy and gives good adjustments. Emma is also tough and really works at the basics to get you ready for balances and handstands. The space is huge which is nice for hot yoga. They usually dim the lights which is relaxing especially after a long work day. Everyone there is super nice. The only negative in my opinion is the kind of weird layout of the place. After you walk through the front door, you have to walk through the usually very hot studio to get to the back changing area and bathroom. It can be a lot of back and forth through the cold, then hot. But honestly, you get used to it after awhile so it's not that big of a deal. The bathroom, showers, and changing areas are really nice and spacious. They provide bags for your sweaty clothes afterwards which is much appreciated. read more

RYT-200 yoga teacher here! As an advanced practitioner who has practiced all over the country at several studios with different vibes, I can say this studio was not inclusive--the teacher did not give strong verbals cues that would be helpful to beginning practitioners. Options were not offered, and taking modifications was presented as "you're not strong enough" instead of as taking care of yourself--not inspiring or uplifting. The tenant of equanimity could be stronger here. I also asked if they give a discount to yoga teachers like several other studios, and the owner laughed at me for asking. I have been to this studio a few times and it is consistently over crowded. For $25 per class, I should have more than three inches between me and the next mat. They need to cap their classes. Also someone walked in 15 minutes into class. At some point you need to turn people away as it is far to crowded and the body heat leads to a room that is far to hot. I walked out of class annoyed and wishing I hadn't spend $25 to bee sitting on top of each other. And it is a shame because the other Powerflow studios I go to are so great read more

I enjoy this place! I go after work when I can, which generally means 1-2 times per week (I might be giving myself a bit too much credit, but I'm an optimist). Its the PERFECT end to my day - the instructors are great, the classes are all really good. Its just good vibes all around, one of the few places I go to on the regular that make me feel that way. Even when I've had a long day at work and don't want to go - the minute I get there my mood completely changes. Love, love. I personally opt for the later classes to avoid the post work rush. This studio challenges your body and mind to be strong and focused in your practice. Each teacher has their own individual style that they bring to the studio, therefore giving you variation and helping to fulfill each individual. The studio is clean, and spacious. They have two showers with towels, lockers and changing rooms available. The student rate is excellent and they have a great deal for new students. The only minuscule complaint is that the studio can have more of an exercise feel, then meditative and spiritual. It is definitely the most challenging workout I've ever done! Overall though, it on the top of my favorite studios and life-changing in many ways. read more

I have taken yoga of all kinds all over this great state and I have to say, this was one of my favorite places to practice. Because of finances, I try to use the groupons or livingsocials or the "one week intro" deals places offer. But, if anyone asks for a yoga place, I recommend them. This is the brand new studio run by Erin Moore. For the last few years she had operated out of JD Fitness. The new space is terrific. Very relaxing. The teachers are great. I regularly attend classes by Erin, Emma and Lori. All are very good instructors and are great with all levels of student. I cannot recommend this studio more highly. Don't kid yourself - this is a business and a machine: powerflow first, students second. Does not promote a positive environment vs. a "place" to get classes. They are not leading a practice and driving a positive experience. Rather, they are executing a business model at scale. Decent schedule and "some" good teachers, but insanely crowded classes they could care less about safety, they "say" they cap attendance when it is too high (they do NOT - pack you in like cows) No matter what you ask or suggest to the front desk you get a "well that i how we have always done it" -not much attention given to improvement, listening to your students or innovation to be better...especially from the people using the service. The studio is "kinda" clean..but not really. they send a quick dry off over the floors after they are covered with sweat - but there is no real disinfecting going on anywhere. Often, classes are focused on the teachers latest "rant" - both verbally (politics) and teaching (one class focused on our 'toes" because that was what the teacher said she was learning about lately. Sorry - im looking for a bit more of a holistically balanced session unless told up front that the class will heavily focus on one body party...especially toes) If you can't find anything else - go. Otherwise, much better people, atmosphere and demeanor from the leaders (correction - these are not leaders at this studio. As said above, they are executing a business model. And i have heard from those that help run the front desk on a part time / or "swap" basis - that they are awful to work with) read more

Absolutely love this place. My wife initially got me into yoga and I was skeptical. However, only one class later I was completely sold and try my best to go at least once a week. The staff is incredibly friendly and so accommodating to participants of all levels of yoga. The staff has always been kind. Each class is difficult (in a good way!). This is your ULTIMATE hot yoga studio, and yes I do mean it is great, but I am referring to the heat. It is HOT. I've seen the reviews saying this studio is unfriendly. I couldn't find that further from the truth. My instructor for 6 am yoga Elizabeth was awesome. I was in town for business and she helped me get a mat and towel beforehand. I was very thankful for the towel as I forgot the hotel one. The mat was practically brand new. I have been going to Powerflow in Chatham for a little more than a year and I am a big fan. While I had been practicing yoga for over five years, this was my first experience with hot yoga. The combination of of the heat, humidity and the excellent instructors make this a great place to practice, improve and grow. The room is great - big enough for 40 people without being on top of each other. In my experience, the average class is 15-20 people. read more

This place will give you an insanely good workout. Only issue is that the teachers could focus more on creating a spirit of unity in the class. Example: When you walk in and no one moves her mat even though there's a ton of space, the mats just need to be adjusted. Okay, so a lot of us just don't notice--we're all a little stressed and crazy--but this place is really lacking in a feeling of togetherness, and it seems to me the teachers could encourage that. People want to go in, sweat their eyes out, and leave. Okay, I get it. But I've been to a lot of yoga classes where you leave not just feeling good physically, but also spiritually. You feel connected to the rest of the class and hence, the world. That doesn't happen here so much. Sometimes with a teacher named Yulady, mostly because she seems so happy and spreads it to everyone. Crystal's pretty good too. Oh, and Jeff--he's amazing. But the other teachers seem a lot more intent on giving everyone a killer workout. read more

I have been doing hot yoga for a while now, so I have come to have a certain level of expectations met when I enter a new place. When I first entered the studio, the people at the front desk seemed extremely judgmental, I went there with my friends who were both beginners and this class was supposed to be for all levels. The people at the front desk were very discouraging to my friends and were very inattentive towards their questions. Next when we got into the room, the room barely even felt heated, and it did not get much better as the practice went on. For hot yoga this sure felt like warm yoga. The practice itself was very disjointed. I am used to doing long sequences, and I understand if that is not every instructor's style but she was repeatedly just doing flows into warrior 1's and repeating that. It must have been 35 minutes into the class before I even got a peaceful warrior or backbend in. Also there were no spinal twists, no inversions, and I am pretty sure she got the name of some poses wrong, overall it did not make me feel peaceful, or pleased with my practice, but just like a waste of time and money. She was also a bit unprofessional, I know that as instructors that want to help when people are doing poses incorrectly, but everyone is at their own level and when I wanted to go into a child's pose to take I rest I felt like I was being chastised. It was the same way If I or my friends tried to take a modification, she would try to correct it and make me go into the more advanced version even I didn't feel comfortable with it. This class felt more like Yoga-aerobics than a real hot yoga class. Lastly, they did not even have water in their cooler. One of my beginner friends didn't know she had to bring water so instead they made her go down the street instead of attempting to help her. Overall I was extremely disappointed with this class. I hope the other instructors are better, however I don't think I will be returning. read more

Not a good match for me. I am: 47, beginner at yoga, recovering from minor shoulder and back pain developed from doing the Bar Method. They claim that the classes are appropriate for all levels but I do not think so. I think the risk of injury is great because: you often can't understand the instructors. They mumble or use terms you don't know or fail to actually show what they are talking about and when the room is crowded you really can't see. So you wind up just trying your best and unless your body is already healthy and strong, you could easily strain or injure yourself. Also, I could do without the preachiness of some of the instructors when it comes to politics. Compared to the Bar Method, it REALLY is unfriendly. You are invisible. They should really visit the Bar method to see how to treat customers well. Also, I have rosacea and the heat aggravated that. Even the classes that they "claim" are warm were just as hot as the hot classes, sometimes. They said that it's hard to regulate the heat. Also, although I tried to be open minded about this, I was grossed out by the co-ed locker room. It's not awful because there are dressing stalls, but even so, you get SO absolutely dripping sweaty and men are just bigger, hairier and sweatier and I did not like rubbing elbows with them in the locker room. The sweatiness in general I found to be a pain because, at the Bar method, you really don't get sweaty so you can go and then move on with your day. But with hot yoga, you are drenched with sweat so you really have to shower afterwards and I found it a pain to figure out if I was going to change clothes or not, etc. It is nice that they give a $50/month of classes so you can really try it out. It's also a clean and attractive facility and I LOVED the ice cold towel at the end. That's a very nice touch. read more
