I struggled this evening with posting about one of the lamest massages I've had in my life…read more Struggle over. I worried that a business struggles to make it in this economy. I worried that perhaps the "therapist" just had an off day. Then it hit me. Who's going to worry about new customers coming here and shelling out $150 for an hour's worth of mediocre tepid substandard whatever this was? I will. What about my endless long work hours that would shock most people, coming to this place for a decent massage to relieve the bad body effects of extreme overwork but walking out with zero effect? I'll worry. Not one knot found, much less kneaded out. Zero reflexology. Faking it over and over. She started off telling me - not asking me, but telling that she doesn't talk "because she listens to the body." Guess her hands were deaf. I've gotten massages for decades here in the U.S. as well as other free countries. This wasn't just a below average massage - the only massage worse than this was a masseuse in her 70's down South that after just running her hands tepidly over my skin here and there, she left after she tried selling me a Bible. They're so charming down there I couldn't get mad. And I had never returned to Bennesere until today. My prior visit, I was subjugated and subjected to -and I'm not kidding you: an hour of unwanted Russian propaganda talking points. You think I'm kidding? I'm not. That massage wasn't great either and I wasn't buying "Ukraine had it coming". So i struggled tonight with whether or not I should just write privately to them but I don't want a third wasted hour offered. It's clear they don't hire quality masseuses. It's clear they don't vet or train these people. And for $150, I don't just expect competence: I deserve it. Never again.

The teachers are dedicated, knowledgeable, instructive and both serious AND fun! And I've taken all of the classes ONLINE. There is a wide array of classes, times, and teachers. I can honestly say, I'm thrilled with every aspect of Bhakti Barn! I just signed up to become a monthly member. I'm sure it's challenging to teach to the students in the studio and at home simultaneously. It can be challenging for the student at home too. But I'm learning ways to adapt and it's well worth it!

I found this studio via Groupon and I really enjoy the classes. The instructors are great and the space is very welcoming - colors are so vibrant and the staff members are super friendly. I love that there's always hot tea at this location which you can drink prior/after class (so cozy). They have 2 rooms at this location - the Love room (pink & orange) is the one I took classes and it was very spacious and a smaller blue room. They have many different kinds of yoga classes here (Kundalini, Yin, Restorative, Bhakti & etc) and I often found myself treating myself by taking 2 classes when I had time (on the weekends).

Class: Hot Ashtanga Remix with Carmen…read more As a first-time HOT yoga experience, I'm glad we had Carmen as our instructor. She made it easy to engage with the class. Provided clear guidance and 1-1 instruction on adjustments when needed. Despite the heat wave outside, I somehow didn't keel over in the 100* heat. The class is really easy to get into, and your body will thank you for it after. After all the stretching, you get to cool down as Carmen comes around to place a cool towel on your head and to perform an adjustment to your neck and shoulders. And while I absolutely loved it, Carmen was clear to note that if anyone was uncomfortable with the adjustment, they could opt out without judgment. She definitely creates a very warm (literally), and welcoming space! Thank you so much for having us Carmen and I'm absolutely looking forward to coming back for another class soon! Just a couple tips: - Bring iced water (liquid iv IF you need), maybe a light snack for after! - Bring a small towel (you will sweat!!l - Seriously don't wear cotton!!! I found leggings, a sports bray, and a light cover were perfect! - Check your yoga mat to see if it works for Hot Yoga! If not, no worries, just grab a microfiber towel to lay down onto the mat once you really get sweating cause things can get slippery!! - Don't be afraid to use the support blocks for your knees if needed! It really helps you get the best stretch possible without injuring yourself in the process ;) - Finally, just have fun with it and try to get the most out of the class! Sandy the owner is kind, compassionate and is always looking of ways to improve our practice and to assist us in any way she can. I have neck and back issues and always feel 100% better when I leave there and look forward to my next class. All the instructors are caring. They offer a limited sampling of basic yoga classes and if your take the ones by the same teacher they are exactly the same, over and over with very little imagination and very little difference and no interest to extend the students abilities in yoga or proper alignment in postures. After several weeks of classes not one realignment or adjustment in posture was offered. No direction was offered whether the posture was right or wrong. Maybe after much practice the shop will improve otherwise this is not worth the money or time right now. With so many wonderful yoga studios and talented yoga instructors in the area just try another one and find the right one for you.

I take the semi-private reformer classes and it is absolutely worth every penny. I can only speak from my experience, but after having my first child she whipped my core back into shape! Through the combination of cardio and about 20 reformer classes 1-2 times a week my posture improved, my lower back pain went away and my body looked completely different. I noticed myself incorporating her breathing techniques in my every day life and it made such a difference. The studio is beautiful and everyone is very friendly. New Providence is very lucky to have her!
