How can you say no to locally grown farm fresh fruits and vegetables?…read more I found out about Saturdays PLACERGROWN Farmers' Market by attending the Sutter Faith Farmers Market that happens on Thursdays. There are about twice the vendors here than at Auburn Faith. So let's see what we can get into! I picked up Leah around 9 a.m. and after waiting for her to finish getting ready, we pulled into the parking lot by 9:15. The parking lot is near the beautiful courthouseand was full. There is some street parking available and some parking a little farther away in downtown Auburn. It was a gorgeous morning for a walk. There were so many people! Some had their wagons filled with produce, eggs, crafts. They were walking their dogs... I even saw a few kids on leashes! As we walked up and saw, we were two very excited women to spend some money! We started with Rodriguez farms. They have BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS!! THE MOST AMAZING LOOKING STRAWBERRIES I HAVE EVER LAID EYES ON!! They looked so perfect, I most certainty had to get some. For $23, I picked up 3 over filled baskets... yes, it did seem expensive... but these strawberries were gorgeous, red throughout, and sweet. Worth every penny! Next, we were at Natural Trading Co, and they have organic produce. They were also pulling out so the stops with watermelon being displayed sliced open. Gorgeous fresh herbs in bundles... the sunflowers looked like they couldn't have been real, but they were (one of my favorite flowers). There were chili's and peppers, flowers.. and much more produce. It was a different vibe than next door, but they had a lot of produce Rodriguez farms didn't have. The mushroom tent was pretty amazing because they were showcasing their mushrooms and had information that described what each of their mushrooms tasted like... they've got one that tastes like chicken!!! That woman was fun and making deals as we were reading up. Next, the popular Zena foods! I have already had the pleasure of purchasing Zena Foods hummus before and the spicy and lemon dill I bought last time were so good, I decided to buy more on this visit. This man has every flavor available for you to sample. Do not hesitate to try a sample. If you check out the pics below, the sample is not some tiny thing. On this visit, I bought 2 regular hummus, 1 spicy, 1 jalapeno orange, and one that dip that had grape leaves wrapped about a flavored rice. When you buy 4, you get the 5th one free. Yum Yum Yum!!!!! The kettle corn tent was out here, too, but a about $3 more at this location than at Auburn Faith for the same size... I still have some leftover on my counter at home from my last trip to the midtown farmers market. Bella Familia was out there with their food truck making fresh wood fired pizzas. Maria's Mexican tacos was out there, too. If I didn't have to go to work right after, I might have stayed for tacos! We were walking out of this Farmers Market close to 10:15 a.m. and there were fresh eggs at the very end. Fortunately for him, he had sold out (unfortunate for us). This was a very successful Farmers market trip. Rodriguez Farms strawberries and Zenna Foods hummus and dips were the big highlight of my trip today. I am so excited to go back tomorrow and replenish my dips and strawberries!

It's a small farmers market, but still a lot of great vendors including 2 of my personal favorites, Greatful Bread and Zena Foods! The market also had booths selling fresh brewed coffee, tempting looking packaged teas, bakery items, cheese, spices and of course lots of fresh produce and for all those boujee folks out there, yes even eggs! You cannot leave less than 5 stars for bringing this market to the community that helps support small local businesses and farmers! We ended up purchasing some Chive Pockets for breakfast. After seeing a woman frying up this delicious looking option at Han-Yu Taiwanese Food we knew we had to try it! What are they? A traditional Chinese chive pie or flat dumpling, it was filled with fresh chicken, egg, rice noodles and chive. She asked if we wanted sauce for dipping and I'm sure glad we said yes, because it's VERY good and gave just the right amount of oomph the pocket needed! My hubby absolutely loved his! I would recommend this farmer's market and I'd return! You can find more farmer's markets in Placer County at @liveplacergrown on Instagram! SYOY! :-)

It's located on Taylor Rd in downtown Loomis,…read moreso it's one of the most convenient locations to sample and buy seasonal Mandarin Oranges. As of 11/19/25, which is early season, you can buy a 4 lb bag for $10. While I was there, one farmer was sorting the oranges out by size. Apparently, the medium ones are the most popular. You could buy small ones for $1.50 per pound. Mandarins were attractive and juicy. Update: It's the sweetest and easiest to peel of the three different bags I bought on 11/19/25. Blue Goose Produce is associated with Westview Growers. If I remember correctly, there are 1500 mandarin orange trees in their orchards, so you can buy mandarins there until April! Farmers are friendly and informative to chat with. In October 2025, I believe I spoke with the owner Mark about the Blue Goose decor. One antiquities specialist soon found him a large metallic goose after he requested it. He painted it dark blue himself. This goose gets outfit changes to match the holiday! His family has been collecting blue goose decor over many years, which you can find throughout the store. I learned that a female goose can just be called a goose. A male goose is a gander, and Gander Taphouse is in the same plaza. Yesterday I learned that mandarin oranges taste better a day or longer after they have been picked. It takes time for them to sweeten. You can find a variety of local farm goods here, such as honey, scented candles, Earth & Vine products, local Newcastle Mandarin Ranch products, and Petaluma Creamery cheeses. You can buy pies here. I might call ahead to ask about available flavors. You can find limited produce here. I've bought a large tomato, finger grapes, and a ruby grapefruit here. Fuyu and Hachiya Persimmons are currently in season and look beautiful. Prices resemble that of a farmers market. If you like to support local farms, please stop by Blue Goose Produce.

They serve the incredible local java from Valiant Coffee which is my personal favorite for lattes and always lifts my mood. I live in Rocklin and a 25 minute drive for a cup of coffee might seem silly, but wow is it magical to me. The scones are unbeatable and they have the most unique and creative flavors. Lately I've enjoyed the s'mores scones and the mocha scones (which are made with decaf, in case anyone is worried) but they've always got something unique and delicious in the pastry case. My partner loves their BYO sandwiches for lunch, and while I haven't tried them, they look delicious. When I'm hungry I go for the outstanding avocado toast. Everything is locally sourced and the balsamic/olive oil they dress the arugula with adds a flavor bomb that I can't get enough of! Service is always kind and courteous, and they give you a sticker for every espresso drink or sandwich you order... the 10th ones are free. Go support this wonderful local grocer/deli/coffee shop. I'm sure you'll leave with something enchanting.

The shop is set up in an interesting way where you enter through the produce section and snake around to the main shopping area. I thought this was cool at first but realized the way they have it set up to get back to produce you either have to go past the cash registers (which I think they don't want) or loop back around to get up front again. I typically like picking up produce last so it's on the top of my cart/basket so I ended up heading back that way at the end. The rest of the shopping visit was pretty typical and I loved the selection of items they had. I ended up picking up some cheeses, yogurt, noodles, and grapes during this visit. The prepared section did look nice, and if I hadn't already eaten lunch I would have grabbed something here. The staff member who helped me was friendly too.
