Vendors are lined up on both sides creating a long straight walk with some of the area under a covered pavilion. There was a lot to see--produce, nuts, honey, meats, cheese, chocolates, baked goods, flowers, plants, arts & crafts, & more. Organizations also had booths set up on the end opposite the pavilion. Street performers added musical entertainment. It's a neat stroll & a lot of people were out browsing & purchasing. The park offers a nice setting to enjoy any eats you purchase & there are restroom facilities. Note--Signage states no animals are allowed where food is sold (except for service animals).

You can find fresh vegetables, eggs, local crawfish, chicken, meat, bread, pastries, plants, dates, flowers..you name it, and it's probably there. The vendors are always welcoming, and there's such a great sense of community. It's wonderful to see so many people coming together to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses. It is a simpler, smaller, compact farmers market compared to Sacramento Downtown or Midtown. It had a nice variety of vendors. The Saturday I dropped by, they were selling produce, frozen fish, flowers, plants, nuts, baked goods, breads, kettle corn, artisan soap, honey, and jewelry. Some of the vendors were... Thao Ranch of Galt, CA: This small family run farm sells fresh produce. Some of the offerings were fresh dill, sweet snap peas, carrots, red onions, squash, leeks, beets, chard... some other items I can not remember off hand. The produce looked all so beautiful and were vibrantly colored. The carrots, beets, and onions still had their green tops on. Fresh. Plus they sold flowers. Beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers $12-15. Huge full gorgeous bouquets. Professional looking. Grateful Bread of Fair Oaks, CA: I was ecstatic to see their booth. I use to live near the bakery (an actual bakery where they made the goods right in the shop). I would drive or bike on over, my faves were the muesli bread and olive n feta cheese loaf. They have some of the best bread I have ever eaten... mmm. They were selling baguette (sourdough and French), cinnamon raisin bread, jalapeño n cheese bread, muesli bread, slider rolls, dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, banana nut loaf, burger buns, ciabatta rolls, cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin) and a bunch more. These are all fresh made and not chuck full of preservatives like store shelf bread. I bought a bag of a dozen slider buns $5. Chick's Kettle Corn: Good stuff. Fresh made kettle corn straight from the kettle. He makes it earlier in the day and bags it. I bought a small bag $6. Nature's Nuts: The owner sources the nuts from Ripon and Modesto farms. I spoke to him for a bit. He is quite engaging and quite knowledgeable about nuts (nutritional value, storage, flavoring). No BSing.He sold walnuts, almonds, and pistachios in the shell sold unflavored or flavored. I bought a bag of 8 oz honey smoked almonds. Yum! I was able to sample. The walnuts were so fresh and had an excellent sweet earthy taste. Pat's Pastries: Home based business selling baked goods. Irish soda bread, whole grain bread, chive n cheese biscuits, zucchini pineapple bread, pumpkin ginger bread, gluten free pound cake and zucchini bread... were just some of her offerings. Malik Brothers: They sell various flavors of papadum, chips, rotis, and naan. Each come in a variety of flavors. Roti is a flatbread, made from stoneground whole wheat, originating from India. Ruby's Ranch: They are a farmstead selling all organic produce. Their booth sold a variety of lettuce. It looked all so fresh and vibrant. You can find products from other local farms, like honey or Newcastle Mandarin Ranch sauces. You can pay by credit card. Even though it was end of season, the mandarins are just the way I like them - the best variety (in my opinion) - easy to peel, seedless, juicy. So glad I have something like this nearby!

There are about twice the vendors here than at Auburn Faith. So let's see what we can get into! I picked up Leah around 9 a.m. and after waiting for her to finish getting ready, we pulled into the parking lot by 9:15. The parking lot is near the beautiful courthouseand was full. There is some street parking available and some parking a little farther away in downtown Auburn. It was a gorgeous morning for a walk. There were so many people! Some had their wagons filled with produce, eggs, crafts. They were walking their dogs... I even saw a few kids on leashes! As we walked up and saw, we were two very excited women to spend some money! We started with Rodriguez farms. They have BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS!! THE MOST AMAZING LOOKING STRAWBERRIES I HAVE EVER LAID EYES ON!! They looked so perfect, I most certainty had to get some. For $23, I picked up 3 over filled baskets... yes, it did seem expensive... but these strawberries were gorgeous, red throughout, and sweet. Worth every penny! Next, we were at Natural Trading Co, and they have organic produce. They were also pulling out so the stops with watermelon being displayed sliced open. Gorgeous fresh herbs in bundles... the sunflowers looked like they couldn't have been real, but they were (one of my favorite flowers). There were chili's and peppers, flowers.. and much more produce. It was a different vibe than next door, but they had a lot of produce Rodriguez farms didn't have. The mushroom tent was pretty amazing because they were showcasing their mushrooms and had information that described what each of their mushrooms tasted like... they've got one that tastes like chicken!!! That woman was fun and making deals as we were reading up. Next, the popular Zena foods! I have already had the pleasure of purchasing Zena Foods hummus before and the spicy and lemon dill I bought last time were so good, I decided to buy more on this visit. This man has every flavor available for you to sample. Do not hesitate to try a sample. If you check out the pics below, the sample is not some tiny thing. On this visit, I bought 2 regular hummus, 1 spicy, 1 jalapeno orange, and one that dip that had grape leaves wrapped about a flavored rice. When you buy 4, you get the 5th one free. Yum Yum Yum!!!!! The kettle corn tent was out here, too, but a about $3 more at this location than at Auburn Faith for the same size... I still have some leftover on my counter at home from my last trip to the midtown farmers market. Bella Familia was out there with their food truck making fresh wood fired pizzas. Maria's Mexican tacos was out there, too. If I didn't have to go to work right after, I might have stayed for tacos! We were walking out of this Farmers Market close to 10:15 a.m. and there were fresh eggs at the very end. Fortunately for him, he had sold out (unfortunate for us). This was a very successful Farmers market trip. Rodriguez Farms strawberries and Zenna Foods hummus and dips were the big highlight of my trip today. The market also had booths selling fresh brewed coffee, tempting looking packaged teas, bakery items, cheese, spices and of course lots of fresh produce and for all those boujee folks out there, yes even eggs! You cannot leave less than 5 stars for bringing this market to the community that helps support small local businesses and farmers! We ended up purchasing some Chive Pockets for breakfast. After seeing a woman frying up this delicious looking option at Han-Yu Taiwanese Food we knew we had to try it! What are they? A traditional Chinese chive pie or flat dumpling, it was filled with fresh chicken, egg, rice noodles and chive. She asked if we wanted sauce for dipping and I'm sure glad we said yes, because it's VERY good and gave just the right amount of oomph the pocket needed! My hubby absolutely loved his! I found a woman that prepares North African dips and breads, and they are so good. I bought a variety of produce and local honey, looked at flowers and jewelry, had some empanadas and a coffee. Plus, I just had fun walking around and looking at all the people out and about. This farmers market is nice because there's a lot there and it's not packed in super tight so you don't ever feel overwhelmed by the crowd. I will say that the prices at this farmers market are at a premium. I'm sure they have to pay a pretty penny to have a booth there and that is definitely reflected. The markets are located from Truckee to Roseville and include seasonal markets, such as this one, as well as year round markets. This market is Saturdays only from June 6-November 21, 8:30am-12:30pm. There is a year round market a few miles away in Roseville in the Whole Foods Market parking lot (at the Fountains on Galleria Blvd. & East Roseville Parkway from 8:30am - 1pm on Tuesdays) . There are typically around twenty vendors at this Rocklin market. All of the produce is sold by the growers themselves so you can really get the inside scoop on their products and how they are grown. There are also items available like fresh baked breads, cookies and even tamales. On this visit there was also a fresh flower vendor, honey vendor and even some live acoustic entertainment. When you buy an item from any of the vendors you can also get a ticket to enter a weekly drawing to win a free item from RC Wiiley. This week's giveaway was for a mini-fridge. Overall, it's a nice little pop-up and I can always count on finding some flavorful items fresh from the farm. On this visit I was on the hunt for some cherry tomatoes and found some tasty little gems grown by Willow Creek Ranch in Penryn. They were well balanced between sweet and acidic...yummy summer goodness!
