Went in not too long ago unsure of what I was wanting specifically. The owner and his right hand man were happy to help explain everything to me as far as what a good starter stack would be and how the ingredients effect the body. Staff is very knowledgeable and cool to talk too. I spent close to an hour in there just talking about products and what would be recommended and I never felt pressured to purchase more than I wanted. My father (53 years) came to me for help with taking a supplement that would help with his energy levels and overall performance as he is completely ignorant to supplements and what is appropriate. I suggested to him to take some supplements to promote testosterone naturally ie. D-aspartic acid, Vitamin D, Tribulus terrestris, fenugreek. May 5th, 2020 5PM CST- I gave him an address to Powerhouse Nutrition off of 82nd street because it had good reviews and they have affordable products that have most of the ingredients I had in mind for him. I instructed him to show whomever the list I gave him https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/best-testosterone-booster-supplements So he will receive the appropriate product for him. I came to find out that one of their managers named Amy sold him a pro-hormone called 1-Testosterone https://www.capecodnutrition.com/shop/c/p/1Testosterone-60-Tabs-x29777010.htm and an estrogen blocker after my father showed her the list that I specifically gave him to show whomever so he would get the right product. The main ingredient in the pro-hormone is 1-androstene-3b-ol 17-one which is a synthetic steroid. This was absolutely immoral and dishonest and I immediately called the store to confront her about this. She was gone for the day and I talked to a gentlemen named James and informed him on what happened and he was professional, understanding, and ultimately apologized and got my father the right product as i knew the store had them. May 6th, 2020 12PM CST- This conversation did not last long and did not go well. I got ahold of their manager and confronted her about the situation and she was defensive, insulting and vulgar. She lied and said that she sold my father what he showed her from the list and then informed me that I should have sent him to GNC that "this is a bodybuilding store" that "I need to do my research". Completely irrelevant to the situation. After a bit of back and forth, me trying to plead with her to try and be understanding, she proceeded to call me a Bi**h among other profanities and then hung up. In all fairness, I wanted to just call and get a formal apology and that would have been the end of it but when I'm met with this kind of reprehensible customer service, I am obligated to write a complaint and hold her accountable. My complaint is three fold 1. Taking advantage of my fathers ignorance 2. Selling my father a product that could have damaged his heath as pro-hormones can have adverse effects to health such as liver damage and interrupted natural testosterone production. 3. This is not how you treat customers and how you conduct yourself as a person, especially from a manager. read more

I'm so glad I found Powerhouse Nutrition. They are far more than just a supplements store. In the fall of 2015, I had back surgery (L5/S1 microdiscectomy). It was a long, miserable year on many levels, living with chronic pain. The surgery was a huge success, but with the exception of rehab, I'd basically had no physical activity in nearly a year.
