The food was AMAZING. The service NOT so amazing. We were in Powers during the city wide yard sale…read more I understand this day was not the best day to give this place a try but we were starving. You would think the place would be prepared for this annual event that brings an influx of visitors and potential customers to the business. Upon entering the business the place was packed. There was maybe 2 available places to sit at. We were unsure if we just sat down or had to wait to be seated. So we asked, as one should when they don't know right? My friend was informed by the waitress the obvious that they were busy and it might be awhile. Oh OK, got that. We placed our order at the register because it didn't appear that we could take a seat and then be waited on at that point. If the next food option wasn't 30+ minutes away, we would have left. We got our food about an hour later. One of our meals didn't get "put on the ticket". We were told they could put our order ahead of the restaurant of the orders....if we can pay for it. I said, no thanks. We are not waiting any longer for food. And... really? You should have offered to make it at no charge. Especially after the waitress stressed that she had it on the ticket. It was not on the ticket. Needless to say the food was amazing, so hats off to the cook! You rock! The staff can go kick rocks! We probably won't return. Customer Service is a high rater on my list!

This local bar and grill is the spot for all the local patrons of Gold Beach. I walked in and…read moreinstantly got the vibe that everyone inside knew each other. I ordered the deep fried cheese curds and chicken sandwich and both were pretty good. They had a small back outdoor patio, a pool table, a full bar, and a seating area with just enough for a small crowd. We were impressed that the bartender managed the crowd easily on her own ensuring everyone got their food and drinks from the bar to the tables in the back of the room. Was an easy place to stop for a quick bite while I was in town!

September 5 & 6, 2025 - Gold Beach, OR…read more We were staying at Turtle Rock RV Park when a local suggested we check out the Friday night steak special at Hunter Creek Bar & Grill--$21 for a full dinner. Sounded like a deal, so off we went. Walking in, we were hit with a wall of noise from the lively crowd and a haze of smoke drifting off the grill. To top it off, we got an unexpected dose of "local flavor" when an older lady at the bar fixed her gaze on my husband, asked to take his photo, and then claimed she really just wanted a picture of the door... sure, okay. I was tempted to turn right around, but we stuck it out and found a table. Before long, a server stopped by with menus and got us settled in. We decided to split the steak dinner, and it turned out to be fantastic--tender, flavorful, and more than enough for two. A glass of cabernet on the side rounded it out nicely. The best part, though, was the atmosphere. Once we relaxed into it, it was great fun being in a spot where the locals gather. A friendly couple pulled up to our table and shared stories about the area, even tipping us off to some local happenings. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the very next night. The Saturday special was a shrimp hoagie, and once again it was both a tasty meal and a great deal. We even ran into our new friends from the night before, who invited us to join their table--making it feel like we were part of the neighborhood. Note: no minors allowed.

The place is lively and fun, but not rowdy (at least not when we were there). It has a nice relaxed and casual vibe. They have several pool tables, pinball, electronic darts, and slots. The food is the usual bar food - burgers, fish & chips, corn dogs, etc and it was pretty good. Several regulars made it a point to introduce themselves, let us know what was happening in town, and generally just made us feel right at home. We'll be back.

Now the bar.. it reminds me of the bars I grew up in back in Buffalo, it's just a small town watering hole and it might not be much to look at on the outside.. but it's on the inside where the magic happens. There's Oregon lottery machines, pool tables, dart boards and shuffleboard. The drinks are cheap and cold, the hospitality is heart warming and the food is delicious. Sean, the owner, greeted us and showed us where we could park. We had a couple of ice cold beers and a couple of great sandwiches, patty melt (pictured) and s grilled cheese. Thank you Sean for your hospitality and we hope to see you again.
