Several hours later he came to my house, provided me with his professional opinion on what size whole house generator I needed. We agreed on a larger one for not much more than the smaller one would have cost. Signed the contract, gave him a small deposit and we parted ways. I called Maria back and she walked me through what I needed to provide and what they would be doing on my behalf. I scanned her everything she needed, she drafted the proposal, their insurance information and a schematic for what she would send the township and HOA. In less than 24 hours from when Jason was here and signed the contract I had HOA approval and a date from Maria of when they would install my generator. They even took care of obtaining Township approval. On 10 16 25, less than a month from my first contact with them, my Generac was installed. The crew showed up at 7:30 and were completely done by 11:30. The 4 man crew worked like a well oiled machine. This is my third Generac in different homes, my fourth whole house generator, and I would highly recommend not only using a Generac but you must call Absolute Energy Solutions to have it installed. Their prices are higher than other local companies, but we were told it was worth it, since they were responsive and customer-oriented. So we forked over the extra money. A few months into working with them, our fuel-fired water heater started leaking. We called Stover to see if they could come out and take a look. During this initial phone conversation, we asked if there would be a charge associated with the visit. Randy, the person with whom we were speaking, said, "We'll worry about that later." Stover came to our home, diagnosed the problem, and left, all without any mention of a charge. We remembered that our Realtor had bought us a one year home warranty plan, and that the water heater was covered (yay!), so we called the warranty company and had them take care of it. We thought that was the end of it. But NO. A few weeks later we get a bill in the mail from Stover for $70. A phone call with Randy made the situation worse: not only did he staunchly refuse to forgive the bill ("We provided a service. It's a fair charge."), but his constant interruptions and completely rude demeanor proved once and for all that this company is NOT oriented toward customer service! As I tried to tell Randy, it is not that we believe $70 is an unfair charge. What we think is completely insane is that, upon DIRECT QUESTIONING about whether there would be a charge, we were essentially told "No." And then a bill shows up. All I can say is that if you value HONESTY and CUSTOMER SERVICE in the companies you work with, stay far far away from Stover Fuel Oil Inc.
