In researching duct cleaning companies, I kept coming across horror stories about cost overruns and inadequate work. I requested three bids, hoping to get at least one good one. The first company said they used a "100% biobased disinfectant technology approved by the USDA," but when I inquired what the technology was they didn't explain. The second offered an add-on service, but when I asked about why I'd need it, they admitted I didn't. They also came in hundreds of dollars about the third company--Lowe's Air Duct Cleaning. I liked Lowe's flat rate: no surprises! I liked the service even better. The technician arrived on time. He took off his shoes in the house and was respectful of our things. He worked diligently for about seven hours to clean our dryer vent and the ducts for our three HVAC systems. He showed me before and after pictures that I could identify as ours because I'd found the same pet food kibbles elsewhere in the house from the former owner.
