I see all the negative reviews here on YELP that precede my own and I'm astonished, because every aspect of my experience with the PRADO clinic was been excellent. I've been seen by Dr. Antonio PRADO and by his son Dr. Dominic PRADO and they are both superb ophthalmologists.... Both have M.D. degrees. They are friendly, helpful, and seem devoted to their patients. Their support staff is wonderful, too. (A big shoutout to Kiara and Marco.) So sorry others have felt differently, but I'm relieved to have such fine eye-care here in Tampa and will continue to see Dr. Dominic PRADO in the future. read more

TERRIBLE experience at Prado Vision. We were BOUNCED back & forth between their two offices and the phone system is a NIGHTMARE!!!! It was impossible to get to the right person or department when you call! They are obviously not concerned with the welfare of the customers and are sadly out of touch with them. read more

This place is terrible. If you or your loved one would like to go blind because of poor patient care -- come here. They will also nickle and dime your insurance and you. They wanted to charge me $40 to print my uncles prescription so I could order him new glasses. Their response is they don't get paid for that which is why they charge. $40 to print something that should already be in his file. I asked if they could verbally share it and still no. Additionally, they didn't recommend that he see a specialist until he went blind-- my guess is they wanted to get receiving the insurance payments. When someone's sues please contact me read more

Well I sure wish I had read the reviews before I went. The doctor was great! I should have taken my Rx for my new lenses somewhere else though. They told me they would be ready in 14 days. That came and went and I tried to call them, it went to voicemail. So I drove there and asked for my new glasses. The lady went back and was gone for about 10 min. She was talking in low hushes to other staff and looking in other offices during this time. She finally came back and told me that my glasses didn't pass some final check and weren't ready. I asked when they would be, she said she didn't know. She then checked my phone number and I told her that was correct but why didn't anyone call me to tell me of this delay? She didn't have an answer. DON"T order any thing from this group....maybe someday I'll get my order but I'm not holding my breath. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My mom was completely misdiagnosed by these so-called expert eye doctors. They put her on the wrong medications--antibiotics and steroid drops--which not only weakened her immune system but also worsened her actual condition. She originally had dry eye, but their reckless treatment led to even more severe dryness, which another (competent) doctor finally diagnosed correctly. The steroid drops also made her vulnerable to shingles, which she then battled for weeks. When she first visited, she had no pain or discomfort. But after their assistants performed an exam, her pain never stopped, forcing us to rush to the ER. And when we informed the doctor, his only suggestion was to take Tylenol! We visited them three times, and each time, things got worse. It's beyond disappointing to see experienced doctors be so careless and irresponsible. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they brushed us off the moment they realized the case had become complicated. To make matters worse, their front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and completely indifferent when we raised concerns. Do yourself a favor--don't risk your eyes or health with this place. They don't deserve even one star. read more

I have been going to Prado vision every 6 months for several years Even with an appointment there is always a long wait time. In June I was told I would need my cataracts removed. and someone would call me with an appointment to see Dr Prado. After a few days and no call I was told they would call in 5 weeks, Nothing happened. I made several more attempts but never got a call. 2 weeks ago I called another company and have already had one cataract repaired and due for the next one tomorrow, NEVER GO TO PRADO that is my advice read more

They love leaving EARLY, not 5 pm. The glasses office NEVER ANSWERS- all goes to VM. Lab broke my glasses and I had to ask for a discount on replacement, and only got a 50% off from retail to compensate. And they never called me when the glasses were ready. I had to call them. They take way too long to give you an appointment even with a referral from the optometrist that my cataract and glaucoma had worsen. I was an established patient with this location. Then they called back and changed my appointment to the same day I was scheduled for an MRI. Dr Prado had done my previous eye surgery, but the staff acts like they are doing you a favor. Amazing service from the technician, Pablo who was excellent and thorough, to Dr. Musomeci who was honest and professional, to the optical technician, Jessica who was helpful. The front office staff and service was timely and the facility is clean and comfortable. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs eye care. read more

I took my father in law for his cataract surgery exam in early February 2022. (A appointment we had to wait months for.) We were notified upon arrival that they were running AN HOUR behind schedule! We went to Moreno Bakery and came back in one hour only to wait ANOTHER HOUR. At the conclusion of the appointment I was told someone would contact us within 30 days to schedule his cataract surgery, it's now early April and ZERO contact. If you have the choice to go to another vision center DO IT! Avoid this business at ALL COSTS, they are awful!! read more

However, their front end customer service has fallen to the point where I found it necessary to find a doctors office who staff cared as much as the doctors did. The experience with my mother in law during Covid was top notch. We have no waiting issues, check in was easy and we were out in a very reasonable amount of time. We were satisfied in the nurse who dialated my MILs eyes and both she and the doctor answered all of our questions, leaving my impression as if we were the only patients. Had to wait about a month to get an appointment. Was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that could adversely affect your eyes. Needless to say I was quite concerned. Prado Vision is clean, professional, very compote & knowledgeable staff. I felt that I got a very thorough & complete eye exam, by a doctor that specialized in eye diseases. After my exam, I felt confident that all was well with my eyes. The doctor reassured me and explained everything thoroughly. It may have been a bit of a wait for the appointment, but I feel confident in the doctor & my results. I was very pleased with the entire process. What's a girl to do? 02/02/2022 I took my immune compromised chemo patient mother in for cataract evaluation and surgery. We carry Lysol wipes everywhere we go, and when I wiped the arms of the reception room chair before my mom sat down, it was absolutely filthy. That dark, dingy, dated reception room probably hasn't been cleaned since the 1980's, and certainly hasn't been cleaned per standard medical office protocols during a pandemic. Office staff was masked. When Dr. Antonio Prado entered the room, he was unmasked, did not wash his hands and immediately shook my mom's hand. I very politely told him she was in chemotherapy and immune compromised, and could he please wear a mask. HE REFUSED!!! I have never had a healthcare professional absolutely refuse to protect the patient with such a simple request. He did not wash his hands when he entered, nor when he left the room. Dr. Prado puts his personal beliefs and inflated self-image above his patients needs. read more

Humana Gold customers beware. They bounced me around for a referral and then would not provide the necessary information for the referring doctor so we were never granted an appointment. They had long hold times and hung up on me when I asked for their help in getting the referral information the primary Doctor required. The appointment staff was rude and uncaring. This is the only provider Humana allows us to go to and now I have to call Humana because my mother has no other choices in her plan. read more

I've been coming here for years for my eye exams and contact fittings among other optical needs. I was really scared when I first started to have bad vision and when my Mom took me to a Lenscrafters store for my first eye exam, the workers/doctors were not comforting at all and I had a really bad time. However, at Prada I have found all the aides/doctors to be extremely pleasant and comforting. They make you feel like you're flying first class of optical service and I always feel a little better knowing that they are going to be the people who help me out with my vision needs. The place caters to lots of older people over people my age, but that just makes it more quiet and better to wait in. read more

While standing outside on the hallway, I heard them use foul language and call a patient a derogatory name , very unprofessional and dismissive. The receptionist, Yvette is rude and nasty !!! waited over one month for an appointment for eye problem. get there and the staff girl tell me my driver license is expired so no appointment for me. screw you . This place has THE worst scheduling scheme. They say "by appointment only" on there site. They don't know the meaning. We have been sitting for an hour and the lady next to us, for an hour forty five minutes. Didn't ask the others that are still sitting around us that were also here before us. We could have stayed home at least an hour or more instead of sitting in a crowded waiting room catching who knows what. Every seat is taken. 20 minutes after we signed in, they called us up to pay our deductible. Then just sit and wait. Since I'm writing this review while we wait, almost 15 minutes more have pasted and still no calling. read more

Be careful. Patient for 10 years after health care plan made me change and never saw a REAL eye Dr. Know the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist. Vision deteriated to almost blind before I realized the Dr. was an optometrist and never referred me to an Opthamologist to treat my glaucoma even though there are two on staff. Recommend St. Luke's, Newsom or Tampa Eye Clinic. Check out the Dr. at each and their credentials. Current Dr can stop the progression but can't restore. Should have been done years ago. read more

Yesterday, I was diagnosed with shingles behind my right eye. My primary physician considered it a medical emergency and told me I must see my eye doctor immediately as my vision could be affected permanently. The primary care doctor's office called Pradovision, explaining the urgency of the situation. I have used for over 10 years for eye tests and glasses. They refused to schedule me, saying it would have to be "tomorrow" at 1:30. Luckily, my primary Doctor was able to get me in elsewhere. The doctor that agreed to see me now has a new patient, and Pradovision is "minus one patient" in the future. read more

i went for a regular eye exam and was told to get glassess i ordered transitional glasses and about a month later i saw a film across the eyeglasses. i took them back and sure enough the film was comming off. i got the lenses replaced and within a week the same thing happenned!! i have now been waiting for over two weeks to get my glasses which i was told they would be brand new and i at this point i am a bit hesitant to believe that this is true. i asked for a credit because these glassess are not cheap as a matter of fact they are quite expensive and prado vision adminstration said that they would not credit me because they have responded to my needs. i do not think this has been the case. otherwise this would not have happenned twice !! i paid dearly for my glasses and have not been able to wear them meanwhile my money was taken but the merchandise has not been acceptable. i would not recommend prado to anyone because this has been my worst experience in any eye store i have been to. read more
