Lousy food... the only thing we enjoyed was the queso fundido cheese. Their salsa that came with their chips was so bad we had to order queso as an alternative. Ordered the following entrees: chicken enchilada soup, birria beef soft tacos, chicken flour tacos, ground beef flour tacos, and nachos vegetarian style. The birria tacos were burnt and the beef was overcooked, the birria dipping sauce was full of onions. Normally the birria tacos have the onion cooked into the meat and not the dipping sauce. The beef tacos weren't prepared the way we asked had ingredients we asked not to have so we had to send them back. The nachos were not made vegetarian style they had chicken on them so they also had to be remade. The worst thing we tried was the chicken enchilada soup. It was awful. It was basically melted cheddar cheese soup with corn in it. Hardly any chicken or any other veggies. Couldn't even finish it because it was upsetting my stomach with all that cheese base. The tacos were all fairly gross because they had the nasty salsa on them. No one at our table enjoyed their food. We were just glad to leave. Also, we were sat at a table close to a patio door and it was very drafty. Even my spouse was shivering. There were plenty of other tables but they couldn't move us because they only had two waitresses and the other tables weren't in their "zones". We also witnessed a man steal an entire chips and salsa bowl. He shoved it down the front of his jeans. We told the waitress about it and she said people steal dishes all the time!!! I've previously reviewed Prados. I went back after my last review and started another review of less than mediocre.... Then bailed as it didn't add much. Now I have something more... and it's not good. It's clearly changed ownership and I couldn't find a Mexican anywhere. Ok. So I can cook some Mexican dishes, and my wife many more. But someone didn't give the new owners the cookbook, or they threw it out. Flavors are off, corners are being cut, and the food is no longer passable. Dishes that are both too hot and too cold indicate a reliance on microwaves... but the lack of interest in making good on the promise of edible food, leaves this place in shambles. My family would be taking bets on how soon this place shutters the doors, but we all decided we don't care. Brunch is a MUST New Year Day. Love Mexican and this place is offering bottomless bloody Marys and mimosas. Now that is a day out if you ask me. When I typed the address in I arrived in the back side of the building and was confused to where I needed to go. Thankfully my friend was already they and guided me to parking out front. The restaurant is among a small community of homes, and businesses. Very convenient. If you live there, you don't have far to walk from the restaurant after drinks. Once I found the restaurant the store front was clearly marked. I was greeted kindly and she knew to expect me since my friend and I were the only ones that arrived. I was seated and our drink order was given. Were were given a brunch menu along with regular menu and when I tried to order the trash nachos I was told that wasnt an option for today but they did have a pork nacho they could dress us to match the trash nachos we were interested in. The food came out fast and was enjoyed the plate between the two of us. I expected to eat more but filled up quick. The restroom was off by the kitchen. We came here for brunch. They had bottomless mimosas. I will say the mimosas were excellent and very delicious a perfect combination. The fajita bowl was great. I am keto and I didn't know it came with rice, so I'll make sure I get no rice next time! They have patron Towers which we are getting next time we come! Enjoyed the watermelon margarita and my friend had the pineapple Habanero margarita, both were delicious. Salsa was fine, nothing to really say there, but we had the queso with chorizo and it was delicious. We liked that we could order the tacos individually and try different kinds. I had the pork carnitas and the Memphis hot chicken. The Memphis hot chicken taco sounded interesting so I had to try it. It was amazing. The chicken was crispy and spicy , the coleslaw was creamy and it was even topped with pickles. Our server checked on us regularly as we ate and visited probably staying much longer than expected. The deco was very nice, they have a great patio, but on a hot STL night. We chose a table inside. My only complaint which is very minor was that the bar was slower than expected. Seemed to take a bit to get a drink. And we were never brought or offered water, I guess you had to specifically ask for it. We went in when they opened for brunch. The place was cute, I really enjoyed the aesthetic. We were probably the first table this day. Our sever was very sweet, there were subtle issues with miscommunication. Just minimal misunderstandings, seemed she didn't understand what we were asking sometimes. We were the only table for a good while, yet it took 20 mins to make French toast and a burrito. Which we could see the kitchen and they didn't look busy. The food was good, I enjoyed my burrito and my mom enjoyed her French toast. The French toast came with tater tots. After we ate, we sat there for over 20 mins waiting for the server to come give us the check. She only had 1 other table of 5 girls, and a large party was just being sat. After she took our check we waited another 10 minutes and stopped another worker to ask where she took the check and our card. Not a bad experience, just improvements to be made, as in not taking off with a tables card, and leaving it at the bar while you wait on other tables leaving them sitting there for over 10 mins waiting to leave. read more

Great service very attentive. Main courses were very good. Margaritas were top notch. Salsa was super sweet, almost ketchupy to us - I know this is a personal preference but very not typical salsa. Even their "hot" salsa was sweet, verde was tolerable sweet. Rice and beans served with food was pretty flavorless. The Burria tacos were awesome though, steak tacos too. This is a nice and newer atmosphere in a higher class strip-mall close to BC. This was more expensive than my regular lunch-special places, but I was happy. Chips and salsa was served quick and then so was my iced-t. The lunch-special was a pick-2... yet the soup-of-the-day was non-existing. I decided on the salad with steak and a taco with shrimp. Both were very good but not as big as what I imagined. Maybe I am just blue-collar for the area. Like I stated the lunch was nice, but I wanted more for the price... maybe I shouldn't added both the steak and shrimp to my lunch. We've dined here a few times. The first time everything was great. Great food and excellent service. Service is still good, but the food is not so great. I ordered trashcan nachos, and they weren't very good. I had a topshelf or Cadillac marg and it was lousy. My wife's dish was also not good. Then a couple sat next to us and he also ordered the trashcan nacho's and his were worse than mine. His wife's dish evidently was also wrong. They got up and left and I don't blame them. I believe in giving second chances, and we have now given Prado's 3 second chances. We so much want to like this place, but they just disappoint us every time. If we could get a decent drink there then I would still go and sit out on their patio from time to time, but the drinks we had just weren't good. Worst food and atmosphere since we've started going there over 5 yrs ago. This will be the last time. Jalapeños tasted like perfume and were not even spicy. Kitchen sink burrito I had tasted like it was made with tomato soup. Tortilla chips were cold and bland and the salsa tasted like pure tomatoe. Queso Fundido w/ Chorizo was crap from a jar. I've been here a few times. Every time was a good experience for me. However, we took my brother and sister in law out there and my sister in law wasn't impressed. My wife isn't impressed either. Where I'm going with this is , my wife and I were having a hard time finding a restaurant that wasn't crazy busy, it was a Friday and we have gone to places and gotten in in the past. This is one of my favorite spots. Nice patio but also a festive indoor area if the weather is not cooperating. Service has always been friendly and prompt. A previous visit the chimichanga and burritos were delicious. This most recent visit, we started with the ceviche which had a fun, slightly sweet slightly spicy flavor. Very good! Amazing. The best wings I've had in a long time. Big & juicy, full of flavor (not spicy), and served with cilantro ranch. Yes please! Sorry for the bad photo...The sun really over exposed the side of cilantro ranch, too bad... it was pretty! As for the chicken & waffles... Suuuuuper crispy chicken that's juicy on the inside. Fantastic! Personally, I would've preferred spicy maple syrup, but since this was curbside pickup, I poured some Crystal Louisiana hot sauce on that chicken and then covered it in the maple syrup and mixed berries. It was delicious! Prado's really takes it up a notch with their elevated Mexican and American fare and they never disappoint. Located in The Meadows shopping Center in Lake Saint Louis, they are destination in and of themselves. I can't wait for nicer weather to sit out on their patio & enjoy great food and cocktails. Went here with a girlfriend who doesn't get to get out much and it was well worth it! Our server (I'm SO sad I forgot his name, in my defense, he kept those watermelon margs comin so ) was amazing. He was fast but not in a rushing us out sort of way. My friend ordered the wings on happy hour (which is great btw) and loved them! I got the chicken chimi, which was good but I'll try something else next time. My friend is doing the keto diet thing so she got the shrimp and steak fajitas, but they do offer a ton of bowl options which is great. We'll be back! read more

Our waitress Riley was probably one of the best I have ever had. Extremely attentive, never allowed our water to run low and just never skipped a beat. So the reason for the low rating was due to the food, Which was shocking to me bc when they were In wentzville I loved them, I did notice they took off shrimp and grits etc. A few things that made him stand apart from the crowd didn't seem to be there anymore. I love coming to Prados for brunch on Saturdays or Sundays Drinks: Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's (interchangeable) Other drinks have not disappoint - Mojitos, sangrias, margarita Appetizers: Their Smoked Ancho Chicken wings and Jalapeno popper dip were yummmm! Side note_ If your main dish has a lot of cheese, I do not recommend the Jalapeno dip.... just because it gets too heavy. They do not have a huge brunch menu, but I highly recommend their Chimichangas anyway. I get their Shrimp Chimichangas every time I go. It is loaded with generously amount of shrimp, crispy texture with cheese smothered on top. So delicious! I've gotten their Kitchen Sink Burrito before too, but it wasn't as good as their Chimichanga. They do have couple of dessert selections as well, but always too full to be able to get it. Impression: A couple days later writing this and nobody really remembered his/her food as far as taste but we remember they were plated in more of a 'classy' way. Pricing is fair and service was attentive but not intrusive on our visit. Still, the experience seemed like it could have easily gone in another direction. A bit more seasoning to a bland combo of two tacos, black beans and cilantro rice would have popped this review up a star. A little less service or any missteps might have dropped it. The lunch wasn't disappointing, it just wasn't very interesting. Anywhere else I'd give it another go. But with other nearby restaurant options I'm likely to try one of those first. read more

Nice atmosphere for a parking lot restaurant. Sitting outside feels like you are in the parking lot it's so close. The food is fair in a pinch, quite pricey and bland too, it is very Americanized Mexican like food. Personally I didn't feel welcome. read more

Taco Tuesday special is mentioned on social media (FB), so we finally gave it a try. We didn't see it mentioned on sandwich board or table tent or menu, so we asked for the info. Server explained the 2-taco plate (regularly $10.50) is only $6.50! The two tacos must be the same, so I ordered beef and my daughter ordered chicken so we could each swap one: easy enough. My daughter then requested a fancy little $1.50 upgrade of which I had never heard, so I followed suit: instead of standard rice & beans, a lime cilantro rice with Mexican Street Corn - a refreshing deviation I highly recommend. We've dined here several times at standard tables or on their nice patio with fire tables, but this was the first time I've sat in the bar at a high top, & it was a lovely departure & pretty setting I will definitely do again. The house margarita was just enough for a Tuesday evening & tasty & reasonable for $6.50. We usually order the queso & other salsas (recommended!) with their tortilla chips, but skipped this time because not quite as hungry as usual after a late lunch. Two Taco Tuesday plates, upgraded, one margarita = $24! Pretty good. Neighborly vibe in the bar; we ran into and caught up with 3 friends in the time we sat there. I'm returning to the bar tables next visit. Service was good & attentive; she overheard me ask my daughter "what did you ask for?" And overheard when I said, "I should've tried that!" And turned around when daughter said, "you probably still can." And we made the upgrade to the beef tacos. I felt she was anticipating my afterthought- very good! Not great at all. Best thing about my meal was the host who got it for me. He was very friendly and polite. I got the shrimp soft corn tacos. The shrimp was super oily, very little dressing on my tacos and the cabbage looked old. Got the chips and 3 dips as well. Several of the chips were stale and super salty. The queso and avocado ranch dips were ok. Black beans and rice were ok but my rice had ground beef in it...which was not part of my order. Very mediocre and I won't be ordering there again.
