So several years later, here I am. The ambiance is typical for a bakery run by a 70 year old man. There are old signs like "espresso yourself" up on the walls. One immediate problem stood out to me: there's no air conditioning, and it was hot in there. I got a blueberry pastry and a coffee. Although the coffee was just in a pre-made cannister, it was quite good and refillable. The pastry was very good and had a ton of fruit filling. There is plenty of seating, although I can imagine it gets quite busy at 5 in the morning when all the old people from Strathmore come in for lunch. It said on the window that it was a bakery and a cafe, but I failed to see any espresso machine and didn't ask. Strathmore needs a good cafe with great espresso and a friendly atmosphere--like Analog or Phil & Sebastian's in Calgary. This certainly isn't it, unfortunately. With that said, I'll probably come back again when I'm in the mood for a fresh pastry.

The staff were nice and warm. Offered fresh brewed coffee and even brought it to my table one time. There's plenty of free street parking. When you step out there's plenty of other shops to explore. They have the Marble Slab Creamery. Of course the Chairman's Steakhouse. There's a high end wine store, a bar, etc. Plenty of other service oriented shops and more. In the summer it's great because the Mahogany Beach Club is next door. Yes there's a beach and sand, in the middle of the neighbourhood. Awesome! A paved running trail is conveniently located around the beach. When the water is frozen I've seen people ice skating and playing hockey on the ice. It's in a really nice area and enjoyable!

The gentleman showed his own ginger tea which he was drinking but that also had split milk and he was drinking it happily. By this time I had lost the motivation to argue and just left it there. Americano was okay. Overall, I'll give it a pass.
