We go to the deli downtown all the time to get a Rueben and some coffee at piccolo. Everytime we have a pretty great experience and the food and coffee and delicious. The place itself is also decorated beautifully with tons of real plants and light indie music playing. However, this time I do have one complaint. We ate near the cashier and I overheard her talking to customers and complaining about another customer saying she was the most disgusting human she's ever met in her life, based on a strange order this customer apparently always got. Pretty unprofessional and low vibes from that cashier woman but truthfully we enjoy the food so we will keep coming back. read more

This is one of my favorite little DT WG spots. It's tucked away from all the hustle and bustle and has the cutest little courtyard to eat at on a nice day! The place is so homey and everyone is always so pleasant and patient (when I can't make up my mind because I want it all). My fave go to Sammy's are the Chicken Salad on a croissant and the Italian!! Have been here twice, both on Sunday afternoons and it's usually pretty bustling! The first time I ordered the Italian sandwich and the perfect sandwich. Both delish, I thought the bread had a great crust to it and both weren't too dry. Ordered the pasta salad as a side and was unfortunately a bit disappointed, I think it has a lot of potential to be much better. I was surprised it was just cooked pasta tossed in balsamic glaze with minimal add ins (I can't remember if it was bell peppers or sun dried tomatoes?). The second time I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, yummy but felt like the portion was a bit small... or is it just cuz I finished it so quickly? This spot is a great option for a light lunch while exploring downtown Winter Garden! My go to is the chicken salad sandwich which always tastes fresh and has a great flavor. It is a small shop so sometimes it is hard to get a seat, but they do have a decent outdoor patio with additional tables. The prices are high for the amount of food you get but the quality is good so I can justify it a couple times a month. Also I don't recommend coming if you're in a rush because for my one sandwich my wait is generally 10-20 minutes. There are a small business.I support small businesses. That being said, the last time I ordered and asked the cashier cold.That does not mean heated bread which dehydrates the bread. So now every time I think of going back.I think of the dry warm bread.And I like everything cold.They did not offer to replace the bread. So I've not been back since and I really don't want anything warm.I ordered cold that means cold bread too. I got frustrated.They did not offer to change out the bread which is two pieces of bread. I really like a good deli sandwich for lunch once in a while so decided to stop in to the Deli Downtown, located down a small side street in downtown Winter Garden. The restaurant is pretty small, but it has plenty of outdoor seating under big umbrellas. They have a great selection of beer and wine if you're craving a libation with your lunch as well. I decided on the pastrami on rye and my fiancé got the toasted Italian on ciabatta. The pastrami had good flavor and was nicely packed in there but the sandwich itself needed a bit more mustard and more cheese as I could hardly taste any Swiss. The Italian had a nice dressing it was served with that gave the sandwich more flavor a and the ciabatta bread wasn't overly thick as I sometimes find. It could have used more meat though. While I will say the sandwiches were yummy, I wasn't blown away. They were good deli sandwiches but a bit overpriced. For as much as we paid I thought you could have gotten a bit more (or even a side) and they should have had a bit more of a wow factor. read more

Cute deli in downtown Winter Garden off the side street. They have a good selection on the menu to choose from. I opted for the TBC (Turkey, Bacon, Provolone, Bread&Butter Pickles on cuban). The sandwhich did have a good flavor to it, but it did seem a bit dry to me. I am sure I could have asked for some other item on it (mayo, more pickles, etc), but it was not enough for me to request any. They do have a good offering of beer and wine should you want to partake of a beverage with lunch. Lots of other bottled and fountain drinks to choose from as well. The texture of the pulled jack fruit was on point - even the meat eaters will appreciate. The BBQ sauce was tangy and the brioche bun stood up to the sauce. The portion was extremely generous! Do not wear white to come eat this sandwich - but do come try it. COFFEE // The coffee from Piccolo Coffee Co. has always been smooth and enjoyable. I went with an iced maple syrup #latte. Fabulous deli/sandwich shop in Winter Garden. We were hungry and decided to stop in for a Sammie. I had the Italian sandwich which was sandwich bliss! The sandwich was loaded with meat, ham, crappy, salami, etc. with melted cheese, fresh lettuce, and an Italian dressing. It came with a pickle on the side- which I love from a sandwich shop and a Hersheys kiss. My wife had a custom sandwich of turkey and provolone on gluten free bread. There is plentiful seating both inside and outside. You order at the counter and your food is brought to you. My husband had a Reuben-style sandwich with Ginger/Carrot soup. I had the Perfection sandwich. My husband loved the soup. His sandwich was tasty but he felt it could use a bit more cheese and dressing. My sandwich had Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Bread & Butter Pickles and Banana Peppers on Ciabatta roll. I skipped the Banana Peppers. The Sandwiches were very good! We all got something different and no complaints. I didn't care for their pickles. I'd go for something more snappy and fresh but, that's very specific. Lol. The inside has a large couch and tables. It's a little dark in there. We preferred the outside. Maybe if they are going for a more intimate style indoors it should be more couch like, laid back seating, living room style with rugs, unless they get some more light going through there. :) We will be back! Located right off of Plant Street in downtown Winter Garden, this deli is a must visit spot! My family and I stopped in for lunch today and all had a fabulous experience. We ordered our food and headed outside on the patio. It was such a nice day out and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance as we waited for our food. I had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant which was to die for!! My sister had the Cuban sandwich and my mom had the tuna sandwich, which they both really liked. Not bad. Just disappointing. This place is in the very fancy section of town. It's surrounded by boutiques and one-of-a-kind shops. Plus the reviews were good. As a result, we were ready for some delicious, creative sandwiches. We got two Reubens and two caprese sandwiches. The sauerkraut in the Reubens was soaking wet. As a result the delicious marble rye bread was wet and mushy. It turned what is supposed to be a delicious, tart and sweet genius of a sandwich into a hot mess. We also got two caprese sandwiches. They were fine. By that I mean, they weren't bad but neither were they delicious. They were dry and frankly uninspired. The worst part is that I had an entire conversation with the cashier about adding salami to one of the caprese. When we got the sandwich; no salami. I brought it in to get it added and the guy told me that if I want something extra, I have to pay for it. Obviously! That's why I asked for it when I ordered. I got the receipt texted to me, but it only had a total. I can't tell what's on it and what isn't. Since I asked the kid at the register to add it, I would have thought he would have done that. They refused to make it right. They told me I could wait in line, which now had at least 10 people in it, and pay for salami. Had I done that, everyone else in the group would have finished lunch by the time I was done. Disappointing sandwiches. Disappointing customer service. Disappointing lunch. I've been sleeping on The Deli Downtown despite living here several years! I thought they couldn't accommodate to gluten free needs (there are few deli's who do) so I didn't think to check them out sooner. I read a review that indicated there was gf bread options so here I am. I ordered their TBC (turkey bacon cuban) on gf bread, subbed provolone for thick cut mozzerella, added mayo and avocado. I expected to get Udi's bread, I didn't expect to get soft, tasty, multi-grain gf bread. It's a great change up to the sandwiches i'm normally able to order. It also comes with bread & butter pickles, which I can take or leave next time. The sandwich also came with a pickle spear and hershey kiss. I think this will replace Jersey Mikes when I need a good sandwich fix! I can't speak to their other items but I do highly recommend this as a go to spot for my fellow gluten free people when you want a really good quality sandwich! read more

Roast beef (added tomato, onion, and horseradish) on toasted roll was delicious. The lintel soup flavorful... and not too spicy, and the picked beets tasty. Hibiscus iced tea was fresh. This gem is located right beside Piccolo's Coffee which makes it very convenient because you have different options to choose from. The 3 people behind the counter were friendly and immediately greeted me as soon as I went in. I ended up ordering the chicken salad croissant sandwich combo (with a tomato basil soup and a hibiscus iced tea) and it was to die for. They were very generous with the amount of chicken they put into my sandwich and the flavor was amazing. Another favorite of mine was the hibiscus tea -OMG! they must make it in house because it tasted very unique but in the best possible way. I had an amazing Italian sandwich at The Deli Downtown. It was made with Boars Head meats and cheese with bell peppers, tomatoes and lettuce. All of this on a fresh toasted Ciabatta roll. It was delicious!! My daughter ordered the Cuban sandwich. It is their best seller and really good. I liked the sweet pickles and it was very fresh. All of this and still for me the Cuban paled in comparison to the Italian sandwich. Both sandwiches cost $7.99 and for $3.75 more you can add a drink with a side. We tried the pasta salad and the lentil soup. The pasta salad was very bland and disappointing but the soup was delicious. The staff was really nice and cheerful.
