Trying a new place while in Blackwell today.
    Patrick S.

I drove up from Moore today to check out the new Blackwell Barm Quilt Trail and to do some geocaching on Columbus Day. After spending all morning driving around town and the surrounding country, it was a welcome relief to sit down in a nice, clean place and have a good lunch. I tried the chopped brisket sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Both were delicious! Lunch was great and the staff was very friendly. Prairie Smoke BBQ is definitely a place worth checking out!

Rib Dinner To Go with perfectly Fried Okra and Fries which where crisp and yummy!

This local dive was not a disappointment. Restaurant was Clean and had a friendly staff. My ribs were fall off the bone tender with a dry rub that made me say Mmmmm. The fried okra was cooked perfectly, not soggy and not burnt, and the fries were nicely crisped. Plus any place with land o lakes butter and an Andys mint gets a 1/2 star bonus!!

Probably won't go back. Nothing special. I ordered the turkey. It came chipped and was very dry, not much taste to it either.

The best bbq I've ever had!!!! I live in Wichita and drive down Just to eat it. I still daydream about their ribs, and a side of beans.

We chose Triggers BBQ, reviews were generally positive and it was a short stroll from The Frontier Hotel. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and our order was placed quickly. The fountain machine was not working which isn't a big deal. We each decided to try RC Cola. The only rub I have at this part of our experience is don't blame someone for the fountain machine not working. It's just a poor reflection. Just state it's not working. I ordered the brisket, coleslaw, and cheesy potatoes. My lovely wife ordered "the last of today's pork", brisket and cheesy potatoes. The food came out quickly. It was immediately noticeable that the brisket had sat in a warmer for way to long and was past its prime. A slathering of BBQ sauce on the brisket was not much improvement and was really uninspiring its self. A prior review noted the brisket tasted more like liquid smoke and I would agree. "The last of today's pork", was not as painful as the brisket yet not by much. Moving on to the cole slaw which I believe was a red wine vinaigrette. It was not to my liking however it might be to yours. I'll call this a push. Finally the cheesy potatoes. This side was good, moist and tasted as expected. It's unfortunate that this was the best item as I would fully expect the BBQ to be the star. The place is rustic, clean and small. With the draw in Pawhuska being The Pioneer Woman fame and you are a short block walk away. What you serve should be on point. This BBQ experience wasn't.
