Greated as I walked in. Served a beverage within seconds of sitting at the table.! Wowed by the service right off the start! Kyall took VIP like care of us...My hunger ways got ahold of my decision making and I looked at the menu and mumbled something that made sense to the server. The service was top notch. The flavors of the burger ...life changing. The fries were piping hot ... in hindsight I should have orded the tidbits...they looked phenomenal!! This place knows how to get someone's hunger taken care of. I came in hungry, I left fatter and happier. Thank you Mary's grill for satisfying my stomach! I will be back when visiting family who live in this town. Kyall will be requested! She and the kitchen staff should be commended. Very friendly diner. Hubby and I sat at the bar, but there were plenty of tables and booths to choose from. Hubby had the chicken fried chicken and it was fantastic, plus he has enough for lunch tomorrow! I had a jalapeño mushroom burger with sweet potato fries and they were both very good. Lots of jalapeños and mushrooms, plus the sweet potato fries were thin and crispy and not covered in sugar like you find at a lot of places. While we were there, our server told us about the owner also purchasing the bakery next door, so of course, we had to check that out before leaving! These are two gems in a small town that hopefully, are loved and appreciated and will be there on our next trip through the area! read more

Wow! Just discovered this diner gem! Great little local diner in downtown Tonkawa. Great menu, delicious burgers, fries & chicken-fry steak. Not to mention homemade pies for dessert. I will take that 2 hour drive occasionally for a great meal at this diner. 5 Stars across the board. read more

Looking for some comfort food? Here! Right here. Great chicken fried steak and great burgers too. Fried pickles for our starter were also very good. Exceptional service. My wife and I often share meals and typically hope they at least bring a spare plate so we can divide the meal. The folks at Mary's divided the meal onto two plates and brought it out. Like two complete meals. You don't expect this level of service anymore. Ambiance is small town dinner where everyone is family. Didn't know places like this even existed anymore. read more

Mary's Grill in Tonkawa, Ok is a prize if you value cafes who have endured the test of time. It opened in the '50's. We had breakfast but they serve lunch and dinner, too. Pretty extensive menu for a small town cafe. We would eat here again. read more

On our way from Wichita to Oklahoma City, stooped I'm at Mary's Grill to grab some brunch. I opted for breakfast having French toast with a side of bacon. Husband had a club sandwich and tots. Both our meals were very good. They warmed up the syrup before putting it on our table. The bacon was exceptional. Tots were super crispy. Service was excellent. We stopped in passing through town, a hidden gem indeed. The service was great with a very personal friends & family feel. The environment was an old diner vibe and very clean, including the restrooms. The food was also great, not over seasoned or over cooked and hot when served. I had Caroline's Favorite and it was a perfect healthy option and very filling. My boyfriend had the club sandwich (made for a real man) with sweet potato fries (recommend). This place is has gone downhill in a hurry. The last time I ordered food from there the owner Carol was walking out saying she needed a drink. I had to leave and come back to get my food. Which was cold and not correct. Today I walked in to order 1 to go salad. I waited at least 10 minutes for the lady working the counter to finish cashing people out. Then she asked me what I needed and I said a side salad to go. And she walked off and started checking on tables... long story short this place is expensive and has no customer service. read more

We were traveling on I35 heading back to Texas snd saw the Yelp reviews for this Cafe and decided to try it for lunch. Definitely Recommend you try this place! This is a quaint small town diner that serves great food and our server was busy but still friendly and helpful. I ordered the catfish basket and it was very good. The catfish was lightly breaded, cooked perfect, nice and hot, served with home cut fries and hushpuppies. My husband had a mushroom bacon burger and said that it was also very good. They also have homemade pies, but we were too full to try one today. read more

Let me tell ya if you're ever driving up I-35 you gotta stop in to this little diner! The food is fabulous the people are friendly and the town is adorable! Small town feel with a big city taste! The appetizers- (pictured) corn ribs & fried mushrooms were good and served to order. The hamburgers and fries were fresh, warm, and well-prepared. The price was a little more than expected but the hamburgers they delivered were more than what was expected as well and I would order the same again.

As for food, he got a cheeseburger with seasoned fries and I got wings(enough to share) in mild sauce and sweet potato fries with sea salt. Our server was also the one preparing the food, he wore gloves, he worked quick, and was friendly. The workers talk to you like you're their neighbor, and everyone seems in a pretty good mood. Now on to the food...I am often jealous of my husband's selection, this is no exception. His burger looked like something your dad makes for Memorial Day, family picnics, and the 4th of July. It is thick and juicy, and I'd like to tell you that it tasted as good, but honestly, my husband didn't share. LOL He says I only needed to ask. I did try the fries, seasoned is DEFINITELY the way to go! YUM! HOWEVER, my wings were not missing a beat, they were delicious, fresh, and the sauce was super good. My sweet potato fries were excellent. The best part, with appetizer, three beers, and both our dinners, we still got out of there for less than $40. Overall, would definitely go back, very pleased with service, food, cleanliness, and cost. I definitely recommend you stop in.

Stopped by Mary's Kitchen while visiting our daughter at Northern Oklahoma College, and wow -- what a find! The hamburger steak was out-of-this-world good, smothered in gravy and cooked to perfection. My daughter ordered the chicken fried chicken and could not stop raving about it, and my wife's patty melt was stacked, melty, and absolutely on point. Every dish that hit our table was a home run. On top of incredible food, the service was warm and attentive from start to finish. This is exactly the kind of local gem you hope to stumble on during a college visit.
