If you are not Spanish speaking, this place can come off quite intimidating for some with few stares and glances from customers and workers. If you are not familiar with Spanish, I would also say ordering or viewing the menu may be a challenge. I'm able to read the menu without a problem but speaking remains a challenge. The empanadas are different than a dominican pastelito for example. The breading on these lean on the sweeter side and are filled with either carne, cheese, jamon and cheese and other options. The cheese pasteles I found to be salty but good. My favorite are the potato and cheese empanadas, yum. The steak is okay and I find quite dry since its only stuffed with meat and nothing else. Order the passion fruit juice, it's refreshing and a great balance of tart and sweet. They do run out of things or may be a long wait for some items so it might be best to come early in the day. Plenty of parking is available in the strip mall!
