La bolsa de hielo en Buc-ee's trae mínimo cinco veces la cantidad de hielo por menos de $3, una botella de agua de 16 oz, de Sams (porque era marca Members Mark) costo $4.99, mas de lo que cuesta la paca de 40 botellas completa. Menos mal no venden licor, porque el costo total de 5 personas, comida y entrada fueron $350.00, si vendieran licor seguro sería muchísimo mas. El grupo nuestro, 14 personas en total, les salvo la noche al DJ (que en realidad no era gran cosa) porque éramos lo únicos que nos cobraron cover.... Went for the 1st time today. We got only appetizers or small plates. Our absolute favorite was the papa rellena. It was well seasoned and full of flavor . It was filled with chicken. We ate lunch here. A typical small privately owned restaurant, in a strip shopping center in Addison. They have done the best they can to create a Colombian ambiance - in an everyday sort of way. Empty Coffee burlap bags cover the walls, plenty of Colombian flags and soccer jerseys. The menu has quite a variety. Appetizers might seem a little pricey - they are priced each piece, but they are generous size and well made. A variety of fruit juices are offered, we tried several and they were all great tasting and good size large glassfuls. The main meals were tasty, better than ordinary fare. Portions were generous. Chicharon is delightful, sausage flavorful, arroz con pollo better than most. Table service was polite and attentive, without being bothersome. However, there are some odd things to note - they add an 18% gratuity automatically to the bill, regardless of group size - this can be a trap because the ticket still has a "Tip" line for you to add more. The automatic gratuity is not hidden, it is listed next to the tax, etc, but you might not notice. Also a promo on the table tells of a free flan desert with meals over $50, but the fine print says cash orders only. Again, wierd! All in all, we will be back, a pretty good experience. read more

We stumbled upon this place serendipitously during one of the worst winter storms we had in Dallas- February 2021. We were greeted as if we were family and were treated as such. The food was delicious! We tried different Colombian and Peruvian flavors - not being from either, I can't say how authentic the food was, but it sure was good! So this is the first time ever going to a Colombian restaurant. First off we went on a Friday after an event and they had music playing which isn't bad. The problem was the fact that the music was EXTREMELY loud. We asked them to turn it down a little but they would for just a little then raise it back up. First I dined in a couple of years ago and recieved some terrible service from racist waitress....I called the owner and was given a free meal on my next visit...waitress was still there and still racist. I went back today and as I entered I was told that I needed a mask...which was fine due to the outbreak..but after getting a mask from my truck and entering the restaurant I noticed that none of the Hispanics had mask!!! I asked the manager why was I the only one required to wear a mask and his response was that they were eating. I have made almost 200 thousand a year for the last 15 years and cant understand why would these people would look down on me due to the hie of my skin. I was recommended this place as having "buena comida" (good food). I went with my mother, and we were both disappointed with the food! I had mondongo soup and some were long uncut cold chunks, which means they didn't thawed them out to prepare them for cooking. The empanadas were crusty, and fair in taste (I've had plenty of empanadas Colombian style in different places and they have been superior). The chicken milanesa my mother ordered was not that good (I've eaten milanesa in different Latin food restaurants and they have been above in taste and presentation). I rate the food of Las Palmas as mid range (2 1/2 stars out 5). The service was good though! Also very disappointing was that this restaurant automatically charges a 20% fee for tip (management at this place imposes this tip percentage on the receipts), and they expect the customers to pay an extra tip percentage printed on the receipt that they keep, to which I gladly wrote INCLUIDO (included). I don't like deceiving or tricking patrons with this kind of dared impositions by many customer service businesses. I've worked many years in the customer service industry and it makes me sick how greedy the culture has become in general. It is disgusting to see and feel how many of these service businesses impose high percentage tip fees and want extra tips above those imposed. All in all, the prices on this restaurant are high in comparison to other Colombian and Latin food restaurants I've eaten at, with much better food quality, some even with gourmet food and less expensive!!!! I won't go back to eat at Las Palmas restaurant, nor either order food online from this place!!!! This place lost me as a loyal customer I could have become. We were invited here by a friend for a night out of dancing and dinning and we decided to give it a chance. We had a lot of fun! The food was amazing; way better than other Colombian restaurants we've visited before. And the service was great as well. The place was packed so the wait was reasonable. They do not serve liquor but will allow you to bring your own. The music was mostly Salsa with a bit of every other latin tastes on the side. Asking for hot sauce was like asking for free food. Water for the table? Nope, upcharge only to bottle service. Waitress never came by to check and see how we were doing after meals were served or if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Ultimately took over 10 mins to get our check because the waitresses have to move the place's furniture around. The way these ladies were moving, my pet turtle could surely beat them in a race.
