We sold few pieces of gold scraps etc here and tried this place based on online reviews. It's a small one person office. 1. It felt so awkward...it was the main lady and a guy who kept whispering and going back and forth on each piece 2. For something simple like a 14k chain testing and retesting and whispering 3. Few times I asked what was that piece? They keep you in the dark and wondering 4. Stop asking what the customer is looking to get, offer the right fair price. If customer says a low number because they are not knowledgeable they are going to get screwed. Will not return. This was my first and only visit to Precious Metals Refinery. I brought in some silver content coins to find out what they would pay. I have heard that some dealers offer a high payout for the simple task of determining the value of coins with silver. Anyone can google the equation for determining the value of any coin with silver content. It took this representative five minutes to offer me 30% of the value of the coins. Her math skills were wrong. She said they offer 60%. Instead of replacing them in the specific containers I provided, she emptied them into one container. Don't trust their information when they make a 50% error in their offer and show lack of professionalism in handling money. Her equation: spend 5 minutes, make a verbal 30% offer to the customer, keep 70% for the company and not provide a verified offer showing coinage specs., spot silver price, and mathematical calculation. No need to even put this on company letterhead with logo. I wonder why? Stay away from this company. read more

This place is a scam run by highway robbers. They quoted $10 less than my lowest quote per gram of gold. Ridiculous waste of time to commute. You would think you are dealing with a reputable company but that is what they are not! Stay away from these robbers.they lur you in with an appointment and then give you a low ball quote and then keep you hanging till they make clarifications with the boss! Total BS. read more

Please read this in its entirety, and if you don't mind being judged. And if you want to be treated with no respect, by some hourly paid receptionist who's probably because she just wants to go home because the last thing you're going to get here is exceptional service. I looked them up online and decided to drive almost 40 minutes to get here. I briefly looked at their website. I did see where it said you can make an appointment. It did not say that an appointment was necessary or required. And to make it very clear when I asked her if it was required or necessary, the receptionist said no it was not, but you do get priority when you make an appointment. But by being there at the end of the day with an hour left on the clock wasn't worried about being priority. I was glad I would be the last person of the day. I didn't want to stay there long. I just wanted to sell some jewelry and go home When I arrived here an hour before they close there was not one person in their lobby. The receptionist asked if she could help me and I told her that I was there to sell some diamonds and gold. She said well do you have an appointment? I said no I don't do I have to have an appointment?, And she replied, no not necessarily. So then she proceeded to tell me that I would have to make an appointment and come back another time because she didn't think the person doing the appraisal who she referred as "She" would have the time to see me now if she was seeing a person right then how can this receptionist predict how much longer it's going to be? She didn't even want to take the time to find out or to ask the appraiser if she wouldn't mind seeing one more person. I highly doubt that it was going to take another hour. I think she just didn't want to take me in on this day. She gave me quite a look when I first walked in now I may not dress the way that she preferred, but I felt that she judged me from the moment that I walked off the elevator. But by looking at her, I can see the insecurities and it only made sense. But that's no reason to treat a potential customer the way that she did. The words that she said, I don't think she has time to see you Today with the keyword."think" she should've checked to make sure with an hour still being on the clock. You would think that she would get off of her chair and do her job and check into it. I think that would've been a great possibility that I could've seen someone. And another thing is if you post business hours, you are supposed to work those business hours I believe it was at the end of the day and they all just wanted to go home. They didn't want to deal with one last Person not knowing if I was going to be a big sale or a small sale. She just didn't want to deal with it. But then again it all starts with the receptionist. She was the one that had the control. She was the one who judged me. She was the one who did not even take the time to check when she said she wasn't sure but she didn't think she'd have time. I would never recommend or come back to this place even if they paid double the amount as any other establishment.. So please take my advice and do not do business with them. read more
