On 3/10/26 I brought in a gold bracelet to sell. One of the women who worked there ushered us into an office. She brought out a metal analyzer and proceeded to check the different colors of the bracelet which was multi colored. She told us the some areas indicated 18kt and other areas less than that. After consulting with her manager, she informed us that she couldn't buy the bracelet from us. We thanked her and left. After a leisurely lunch at Sullivans, we strolled down the street and stopped in at Ozel Jewelers. We showed him the bracelet and he weighed and inspected it and " offered us $6300. I was a little nervous at first to go to this place but I needed some money for operating expenses for my business and decided to sell some of my gold and silver bars. You meet with someone in a private room and everything is quite professional. They examine your items and authenticate them and then make the offer. Knowing the current price of gold and silver when I went in I believe they gave me a fair price (they have expenses as well and so I figured I would not get close to the current price per ounce). We agreed on the amount and they wrote me a check (I did think that I was going to be paid in cash as that is what it shows in ALL of their commercials but maybe they didn't have $7,000 at the end of the day. Went there to sell some gold. You would think that being a "refinery", they would give the best prices for scrap gold. Online a person can get up to 95% of the spot price. When I asked what their rate was, I was told they give 50%. They offered less than the pawn shop. Be careful dealing with this company. They will take advantage of you. read more

Went in the store a few weeks ago and was quoted $2 under spot for silver eagle and maple leaf one-ounce coins. Went back today with coins in hand and the story has changed, dramatically. They are running scared because the market has moved quickly. Eagles are retailing at about $64, about $11 over spot. These guys are trying to buy at almost $20 under retail. I understand you need to buffer yourself in a changing market, but these guys aren't even in the ballpark now. Seller beware. Call before you waste your time driving to the store. read more
