If the vet could get descent help, other than tweedle dee and tweedle dum, I believe this clinic could thrive. I've been a loyal customer with Franklin Animal Clinic (Franklin, PA) for decades. I enjoy the vets, I've had minimal problems, and care was mostly on-par with expectations. When my Saint Bernard, Bernie, was in the midst of failing this week, a call was made to alert them that Bernie was on his way, was in severe pain, unable to walk, difficulty breathing, really struggling, and we needed to see someone immediately. We had an arrival time of 12:40 pm however, we were told that they were "closed for lunch until 1:00 pm" and even worse, they couldn't see him until 1:40. Now, I don't know about you but what has happened to compassion and sensitivity in this world? You have a dying dog in your parking lot and the response is "Wait until our lunch is over?" Bernie died in the back of my vehicle in their parking lot that day. He never made it in to see a vet for either a diagnosis or to be humanly euthanized. I'm a huge advocate of promoting local business but for this to happen, I'm disheartened. I'm going to turn commenting off on this post because this is strictly for informational purposes. I wanted to put this out there for you to form your own opinion on this facility based on this experience. Our pets are so important to us and to know that my Bernie died in the parking lot waiting for a vet is unacceptable. I'm heartbroken it ended like this but, at minimum, I'm glad Bernie was surrounded by his family, getting belly scratches as he took his last breath.

We lived in Erie for decades, and took pets to a vet there which would administer shots we did not ask for and then charge you hundreds of dollars to help pay for their oversized staff. At Cochranton when my 11-year-old pug was ailing, they showed a list of treatment options and the price for each, and let us select how much or how little care we wished our beautiful little dog to receive. Two years later, our elderly pug is doing better and is more spry then she was two years ago at her first visit, and to be honest, I didn't expect her to live this long as pugs are not a breed known for their longevity. They also responded quickly the next weekend when Mama ate a small chocolate donut while nursing the brand new pups as well.
