I have use this guy a couple of of times for repairs to my car I found them very difficult to deal with first let me start by saying he has no reception answering his phones so he will seldom answer the phone and if he does he does not spend enough time in talking with you about your problem. Second some of the work that I have had done I've had to go to another mechanical shop to get it re-done or to get it fixed correctly The other issue I have which I feel strongly about is he complaints about his customers and their cars to other customers. when I go to his shop I'm almost afraid that he'll badmouth my car and/or me which I find very disturbing, I stopped using him and I will never go back to this guy again for nothing. What drawn me to this shop was all the positive reviews but my experience was less than satisfactory. I strongly believe that the good reviews that you see on yelp maybe bogus and all made up by his friends. It is only when you experience it first hand that you know the truth about this shop. I personally will NOT RECOMMEND him to anyone, not even my enemies. I spends thousands of dollars trying to get my car services here, but ultimately had to find another mechanic shop to fix the problems or redo what they did not do correctly the first time. I had more problems with the car after it was serviced by this shop. what a headache to deal with. First, he is utterly is rude and does not posses any customer service skills at all. This should have been a red flag for me, but i ultimately failed to recognize the warning sign and i paid the price for it. Second, he will rush your car out the door the moment you drop it off your with him. He will NOT take the time to carefully do what you pay him to do. How can you trust this shop when they are so rushed to finish the job. you will end up with more problems to deal with later on. Third, they will not take responsibility for their work and will tell you that any problems that arises is from the customer supplied parts A great way to shift blame away from himself. He will gladly take your money but will not stand behind his work!!! Good luck with getting any warranty work from him. I can go on and on to describe my HORRIBLE experience at this shop. This was just a nightmare for me to deal with and hope others do not share the same experience as me. If you value your health and your money, please take you money somewhere else. He is the worst mechanic I've been to, he rushed work on my car, did not consult me on anything, he just rushed my vehicle to get me out the way and way way overcharged me! I should have followed my gut feeling and not have him do the work. For a simple plug and play work. No attention to detail, no pride in his work, just hurry up and pay me, always complains about everything. I met Alan of Precision Auto almost 10-12 years ago?? I had a 97 Tahoe with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires. Anyone who has had a lifted truck knows that they tend to have alot of mechanical problems associated with the lift. Precision Auto was one of the only places that could do a simple alignment, but did it right. Before finding Alan, I would bring it in to other shops... they would tinker on it for a while and then tell me "we can't service this here." Alan has kept my cars running top notch for years now. A simple oil change and tire rotation once showed that I needed new breaks. Being tied up with work, Alan couldn't get ahold of me to confirm, but he knew I was planning on driving out of town for the weekend. He changed the break pads... Charged me next to nothing and the best part is, he installed a special break pad with a "lifetime" warranty. Over the life of my Tahoe, I think I got 3 or 4 break pad changes for free. I have referred at least 10 friends to Alan who all report he did a fabulous job . Most of them got some ridiculous quote from some other mechanic and Alan charged them significantly less. read more

Been taking my cars (Miata, Scion, Altima, Odyssey, Sentra, Corolla) to Allen for about five years. If you like to do custom alignments they also do those, with full print outs, explanations, etc. Mounting, balancing, rotations, camber kit installs, coils, coilovers, suspension related parts are all good. One minor gripe (if i can call it that) is that when I wanted symmetric specs on a custom alignment they were unable to do it a few times. Is this the machine, the workers, or is this not a plausible request? I figure current technology would be able to tune to specific numbers. SOMEONE educate me on this...thx Will continue to go here and yes would recommend to others. read more

took my car in today expecting to spend $500+ to get my power steering leak fixed, oil pan changed out and whatever expensive ass disaster waiting to happen only visible under the lift. but alan, shopowner and his team of mechanics, hooked me up. ps: thanks to mark for the ride to bart. yeeeee!! didnt need the new power steering lines replaced like i thought, it was just a little gasket type thing that needed replacing so no charge there. got to fix my horn for $45 and even called me to ask which kind of gasket i wanted for my oil pan- 4 piece for $20 or 1-piece for $40 (which i went with). plus the oil ( i provided the oil pan and oil filter) and 1-1.5 hours labor, came out to $250 out the door. will have to go back and get some other work done - gots to work for that 5th star! read more

My RX is getting on the old side of things and as such, parts are starting to wear down. I do some of the easy work myself. This time, I had Precision change out my rear struts. I bought the parts on line, call up Alan for an appointment, bring the car in. In a few hours the car is done with everything put back together, mostly; a few push tabs are not in, nor is the rear cargo cover. This place would be top notch/first class by paying attention to the small details; spend the extra 10 minutes to make sure all the covers and snaps are back in place, just like if you're working on your own car; don't loose the dust covers and nuts/bolts (like my previous mechanic did) and make me find out about it months later. It would make the customers feel just that much more confident in the work being performed. read more

I've been bringing my cars to Precision Auto for more than 10 years. Alan is the best mechanic I've ever met. He worked on my 4-runner, tacoma, mercedes, land rover, bmw in the past and knows every single one of them like the back of his hand. Unlike other shops that I've experience, Alan is honest, straight forward and extremely good at trouble shooting. Always finds out the problem and fixes them. Never will I bring the car back because the issue or concern came back. I have no problem recommending my friends and family to them because I am 100% confident on their work. The prices are not cheap compared to other shops, but well worth every penny because I know my problems will be fixed correctly the first time. Always gives you honest recommendations with no BS!! So I had been having issues with my truck (getting a check engine light, idling rough, misfiring). I took it to Precision Auto in San Bruno; it was recommended to me by a buddy. They changed the oxygen sensor. That didn't work. They replaced my spark plugs back to my old ones, claiming they didn't need to be replaced in the first place and that the new spark plugs were defective. I thought that was odd. Oh, and that didn't work. I took it back again, and they said it was my engine. Huh? can you be more specific? I was told that the engines in the Chevrolet Colorado were no good, and this is a common issue. Sounded to me like they either didn't want to do the work, or really couldn't figure it out. So I did my own research...spent hours upon hours reading forums online, reading the manuals, and watching how-to videos on youtube. Guess what? I not only was able to diagnose the problem on my own, but was able to order the part and fix it all for under $50. Moral of my story? One, Precision Auto is a piece of shit business that I wouldn't recommend to anyone, and two, don't be afraid to do a little research, you'd be surprised what you are able to accomplish/learn with a little reading. By the way, the issue ended up being a bad ignition coil. It was misfiring on #4, so I cleaned the throttle body (thought that would help with the idling) and then replaced the old coil with a new one. Really? Precision Auto couldn't figure that out? Idiots! I am feeling pretty good about my own handy work though. read more

I brought my 06 Hyundai Sonata in to Alan for a checkup because I thought something might be wrong with my head gasket. Also, Midas told me I had a leak and I also needed new brake pads immediately. Alan was very up front with me. He looked at my car and gave it a test drive. He called me sooner than the time he said he would call and told me there was nothing wrong with it, just that the brake pads would have to be eventually changed, but not immediately, that they had a few months left in them. Thank goodness for Alan, he saved me some money! I'm so glad I didn't let Midas do the work they said my car "needed". I will definitely be coming to Precision for all my auto needs because of the honesty and friendliness that Alan provides. read more

I have been going to see Alan at Precision Auto for 5 years. He, the mechanics and craftsmanship are top notch, hands down. Very reasonable pricing, and he always details what needs to be done, why, as well as shows you the parts replaced, and where they failed. All the work they have done has been excellent. The only time I had to bring my car back, Alan made it right immediately, and with out charge... it was a faulty part from the distributor.
