Always amazing service here! I've brought my family's cars here for years. They don't try to upsell you. The work they've done has been great. Oil changes, battery changes, major work, minor work - all has been great. They always work with us for scheduling and have been able to accommodate the crazy schedule that my family and I maintain. I brought my car here for a wheel alignment. I had made an appointment a few days before. The service representative was knowledgeable about my needs. Since I had adjustable camber parts, he was able to make sure the alignment would be corrected to factory specs. The cost for the alignment was on par with most shops. However, they charged me for the removal of some plastic underbody panel. Note to self, save some money and take the panels off yourself next time. Other than that, the job was great! They are ASE and BBB certified. If you have a tuner car, this place will know what to do. read more

‼report‼I had brought my car in for a head gasket, timing belt, and water pump replacement and to install my radiator and some fans. they got me in for a really good price for about $1500. they had told me my head was warped so i had to pay an additional $725 to get it machined. Then a day later they say my camshaft and knock sensor were broken so how you tell me it's broken when they didn't even turn on the engine because the head was off. so i had to pay another $113 for my own parts and $150 for labor. as soon as my car was done they said my bolt was stripped because of their own mistake and they had to charge me an additional $300 for the labor of taking it apart the cams and pulleys. I got my car back and it came worse no coolant and milky oil and my car overheats. what's the point of bringing my car to fix my issues and when i get my car back the same issues is still there. SAFETY WARNING: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. The Shop cannot be trusted to put your car back together correctly. I brought my car for a tire replacement, a wheel replacement, and the upsell alignment. They told me the wheel didn't need to be replaced even though I specifically requested it to be. I accepted. When I received my car, the undertray was left completely loose and missing bolts. The car also had the same vibration from a bent wheel. I brought the car back for a noise inspection and to change the wheel. They charged me for that wheel replacement even though they should've replaced it with the tire change in the first place. I got the car back...STILL NOISY. Undertray still loose and missing bolts. They offered to replace the bolts for me if I bought them, fine, I'll do the legwork, brought the bolts back for them to install. Today I go to take the undertray off myself to do an inspection and THEY STRIPPED A NUT! I can't take the undertray off now. I'm livid. Don't trust anyone to do the job right here. Go to Performance Imports instead. They care about your car. EDIT!!!! Holy crap. I just went to remove a rear wheel because I was banging on it and heard some rattling, odd, not the center cap. Not a good experience and dishonest with pricing. I walked in and was left unattended for a couple minutes while 2 people who saw me there were chit-chatting and laughing it up behind the counter. I believe the owner- Matthel assisted me. I came here to get my tires installed via tirerack's recommendation. They rang me up for a higher price than quoted on tirerack's website. I showed them the pricing I saw on tirerack's website and he disregarded it and said here is our installed price that includes everything(dismount, mount-balance, valve stems, disposal of old tires) I kept my tires, so the price shouldnt include disposal but he added it anyways. The vibe i got from matthel wasnt pleasant. He gives off the take or leave it, i dont care attitude and doesnt want to make it right. I caught the bait and switch but whatevered it since i had everything ready for installation. The install went well though...no damage to the wheels and the tires balanced up well. Only thing that bothered me was them using an impact gun to tighten the wheels. Its an industry standard to use a torque wrench. I called tirerack and they credited me back. This place was popular back 10-15 years ago with the tuner crowd but times have changed. The shop that day was clearly not busy with so many empty bays...i wonder why. read more

And was told to be a 2-hour job. Instead of waiting for it to be done, i got a recommendation for a local Mexican place for lunch. I got a call before I finished my lunch that the job was done. You would think getting a car alignment the tech would bring back anything off back within factory specs. But nope. All the camber settings for all 4 corners are still in the red. They wanted to charge me again for getting the suspension settings back to factory. I'm not even sure what they did to charge me this first time. Stay away from this place!!! You will get ripped off. "Bait and switch" is the modus operandus here, I'd say. Someone had recommended The Shop for the work I needed done (swapping exhaust), so I called ahead to get a quote and make an appointment. The gentleman on the phone was thorough and asked me the scope of work - 2 side mufflers and a center one; 3 in all - and presented me with a quote of 1.5 hours. The person who had recommended this shop had suggested it should be 1 hour of labor, so when I asked about that, the person on the phone said it's possible, but they'd need to take a look when I brought in the car. Fast forward to bringing my car in today. They took all the spare parts out of my car (which were wrapped in blankets and carefully positioned), put the car up on the lift, and came back to me saying the quote would be 2.6 hours. What? Yes. They showed me the breakdown - 1 hour for the center muffler and 1.6 for the sides. I tried to clarify with them that I was told it would be 1.5 hours for all 3 on the phone, to which they said "no, that was for the center piece only", which clearly isn't true, because we discussed there being 3 mufflers in all. Save the hassle and try one of the many other places around that can help you with your auto needs. read more

Who doesn't like a clean, organized shop with friendly customer service and the owner whom I've known and brought my cars to for over a decade! Their waiting area is huge with brand new couches, and they have a professional counter with the feel like you are at home with the smell of fresh wood and leather. Their shop area is also huge and clean! You have high end exotics being serviced there too - Porsches, NSX, etc! Customer service is awesome as ever with true car gurus! They are straightforward and professional. Matthel, Lawton, and Mike are friendly and helped me out with answering all of my questions. They fixed all of the problems with my car in a jiffy! I'm glad I brought my car to them finally as I was putting it off for awhile, but now I am glad they were able to take care of it. Just know that their shop and parking for their shop is located in the inset area behind the gates. Inefficient, liars, incompetent- 3 words to sum this place up. I took my car to get an engine diagnostic and was told I needed to go to the dealership to pick up a part and they would be able to fix my car. This is the first time a mechanic has told me I have to order a part and didn't think it was a huge deal. I ordered the part and scheduled my appointment to have my car fixed. When I dropped my car off they told me there wasn't an appointment for me but could work on my car within the next few days. The mechanic actually called me the same day and said they could work on my car. The mechanic called me to tell me I had the wrong part. Mind you, I called and confirmed twice what part was needed. I called the dealership today and shared the diagnostic summary and they told me that my car doesn't even have the part they noted! I'm out $300 and nothing has been done to my car to fix the problem. The story gets better! The man running the front desk who I've been in contact for the past few days says there's no manager on site and doesn't know when they'll be back at the shop. He calls me back 10 mins later to tell me he is now the manager. Good luck if you take your car here! read more

*do not go here for alignment* *unprofessional* I took my car here for an alignment and was extremely disappointed with the lack of respect and unprofessionalism from Matthel the "owner". I came to pick my car up and the rear passenger side wheel was COMPLETELY out of spec. Anyone with little car knowledge could take a look at all four corners and see it was VERY out of toe spec. He kept telling me everything is fine and maxed out to be in spec as "best as it could" but it was NOT. I had told him to put the car back on the rack and bring it back to the original spec that he claims were "very off" upon vehicle arrival. Without caring about the customer had to say another gentleman had agreed to put the car on the lift and re-evaluate the alignment. I saw he adjusted EVERY corner which means the spec was way off. The new tech had apologized that the sensor must have shifted and made it out of spec when initially doing the alignment. Matthel never apologized to me and said anything to me. All I was looking for was an apology and he gave zero responsibility. Thankful the other tech had admitted it was off and fixed it. (Thank you!) I can't believe a shop owner wouldn't own up to the wrongdoings of the alignment. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE FOR ALIGNMENT OR BETTER YET ANYTHING ELSE. If the customer service from the "owner" was more understanding and wanting to help the client out maybe I would come back! Sucks. Took my S2000 in to get the A/C re-installed (compressor, condenser, lines, etc.) off the shop suggestion in the s2ki forums. Would suggest booking appointment since I didn't do that (just a lot of emails). They can also sometimes be slow to reply there / calling is usually faster. Was also a bit ambiguous at the start about length of job / what would be needed but I thought that was fair given what the job involved (I sourced them my own parts) Pricing was fair at the end + I was satisfied with the work - the work was done competently + explained + came with a thorough breakdown. Was a bit worried since the job was a bit complicated but glad everything was done! Thanks for a smooth experience! Will keep posted on how the A/C keeps running but so far no problems. read more

I have one of those cars that most tire and alignment shops won't touch, I mean literally, other places have asked me to leave or tried to rip me off. Tires usually last me around 4 to 6 months due to how my car is setup. I was asking a good friend of mine about shops to get tires and alignment and our convo went like this,... ME: "Hey you know where I can get some tires? By the way I'm ballin on a budget." Friend: "My friend Matt owns a tire shop, I'll call him for you." ME: "Cool Whats the place called?" Friend :"The Shop." ME: Yeah whats it called? Friend: "THE SHOP!" ME: "YEAH DUDE WHATS IT CALLED?" Friend: "NO FOOL!, ITS CALLED THE SHOP" ME: OOOOOOh, wait, that's sounds ghetto. You sure? Friend: "Trust me, they're cool over there, plus its cheaper there than most other places." ME: "Okay cool" Experience 1 Low and behold, they do have the best prices in the Bay Area that I personally have found. Plus they were not afraid to work on my car which is a Civic that has a clearance of about half an inch to the lowest point on my car to the ground. I got there late and they stayed after hours to help me like I was one of their buddies, which I thought was cool. Experience 2 My wheels are cambered to negative 6.2 degrees in the rear to fit wheels that are way too wide and offset is way too low for the chassis, but they did my alignment, mounted my tires which I thought were going to be a pain in the ass but Lawton did it like it was an everyday thing. VERDICT I will never go anywhere else for alignment and tire mounting, The Shop can't find the tire sizes that I need for my setup but they can sure as hell mount them, the place that can get my tires will never be able to mount them, WTF?? I started a lift project on my CRV that I had been chasing for issues, sounds, adjustments and alignment issues. The Shop helped me install additional parts that no other shop wanted to touch. It took two visits to The Shop for part installs, troubleshooting and an alignment to get the suspension and everything dialed in. The Shop took on a hack project from a previous install and made it right. It now drives like a dream with a 4 inch lift. I'd recommend their services. Just remember when you install aftermarket parts, it's not the shops fault if the parts are inferior but they will figure it out on how to make it work. They took a mess and made it right. I went to AutoZone in Millbrae (320 El Camino Real) instead, and the amazing staff (Brea) there helped me check, pick, and replace the headlight bulb literally in 15min, and only paid $19 just for the bulb. Have lived in San Bruno for quite some time now, and this is the first time I try this place. They used to be located a couple of blocks away from their current location. The new location is bigger and conveniently have customer parking as the Main Street is always congested. I had an appointment for today for mounting 4 new tires on my vehicle plus the alignment. I decided to come here after doing some research and finding the best prices here. The fact that is close to where I live was a plus as well. My appointment was at 4:30pm, arrived quite early though. I arrived at 3:50pm and by 3:55pm I had checked in. My vehicle went in at 4:00pm and was completed by 5:20pm. The price out the door was $168.25 for both services. They have a decent size waiting area with a big couch for you to wait. The TV they have there is pretty big and they have Netflix for you to be entertained. They have bathrooms right around the corner. Somehow the lug nut key broke so they could only place 4 lug nuts on each wheel. They told me to get with my dealer and order a new one. I asked them if I could bring my vehicle back for them to finish off the job of putting the last lug nuts in? They said yes we'll put them on for $10. Besides them telling me I have to pay additional $10 to finish the job the experience was good. I think this is a place I can see myself coming back to get some work done on my precious vehicle. read more

Needed my breaks replaced (pads, rotors, etc) they were really reasonable but after getting my car back..it's been about a month, my breaks are squeaking like real bad. Nice staff but horrible work. Took car to get tires installed. The Shop returned me a broken wheel lock key. Ordered a new wheel key but the bolt locking pattern is rounded so the new key will not grab. Shop over torqued wheel bolts and now will need to take elsewhere to get bolt extracted. I've been coming to this shop to get repairs for over 10 years and know the owner through mutual friends, solid guy but very questionable workers. I checked on Craigslist for airconditioning service. I saw their ads doing a/c service. I called them that they can take it the next day our 2008 Beetle. I made an appointment but forgot to ask the name of the guy. Next day I called that I'm running late for my appointment time. The manager Matt is the one in the telling him about my appointment but he said I've no appointment but he said they can still repair the a/c leak. So drop off taking Caltrain & bus. Finally I got called from Stevenson & quoted me $600. I made another call to ask what part do I need to buy so I can save a little. I was thinking that just pay the labor. I cannot hold on Stevenson so Matt told me just aircon line. Then hang up. Matt not giving full details of specific part so giving me hard time what exact part or a/c hose needed to buy. I went there decide not to repair the a/c. I went there to pick up the car. I told Matt just next time. Matt charged me $98 just for a/c line that was leaking. Matt don't even told me that there's gonna be check up fee before I dropped the car. Matt should informed me before hand. Transparency. I ask him again if its deductible from $600 if I bring my car back. Matt said NO! Lesson learned, always ask friends or relatives for referral honest shop. I will never come back to this shop & pass the word to all my friends & relatives about this horrible experienced. It's a total RIP OFF!!! read more
