What can I say about a business that has been at the same location for over 25 years? Recently I had a problem with my lap top and it started to get more complicated. Many years ago I relocated from the area and recently I passed by and saw that Precision was still in business. My associate and I used Precision in the early years of networking and Pc's. So I called and they said come down and I dropped off computer (Covid responsibly) the following day I received a call from Edwin. To my delight my old computer Guru was still there and we discussed old times. As usual he had all the answers and we came to a solution. I recently visited this company for the first time. I had an older yet viable computer no longer under warranty. I needed a power supply and a chassis fan replaced. They were able to take care of it within a few hours for same-day service. The replacement parts price and labor rate were very reasonable. I work for many different clients that all have different IT services. One of my clients has been using Precision for years, and I've now made all of my clients switch to them. As an example, one of my clients had a computer that crashed constantly. His IT service kept coming in and creating little "band-aids" to solve the issue which after time made doing anything simple on his PC (pdf, excel, outlook, etc) a huge confusing process. I finally called Precision to come in and help. They solved this long running issue in less than 3 hours and saved us from having to buy any additional equipment, software patches, or a new computer. Now our boss is happily typing up his proposals - one finger key stroke at a time and profanity-free. I had a problem with my DELL 9150 computer, after some power outage and my 2tb drive would no longer boot up. I am usually quite good at this stuff, but I just did not have the time, nor the patience to fix this problem. Since this was a business machine, I needed it up PRONTO. Since we do UPS shipping out of it, and it had some vital business files. I bought it into Precision Computer, and they quickly diagnosed the problem, confirmed the drive was still good. Along the way, I was offered several phone calls to give me status, and also of how much it was going to cost. I gave the go-ahead. I bought my computer in at 1pm, and it was returned to me at 4pm. I also had another problem with a configuration of a power cable to my hefty video card, and they solved that without any additional cost. I got my business machine back within a few hours. To everyone that said, hey, maybe it was a simple fix, maybe it is, to experts like these people ... but I had already tried recovery console (the recovery console didnt even see the disk and wanted to format it), I tried spinrite to fix all the problems (ran it for a day, and still no go), and windows would not even see the disk. I have no idea what the problem was, nor do I really care. I know for a fact, if someone fixes computers all day long, they know the troubleshooting steps and also will have the tools to fix it. Also, it is a rarity these days to find shops like Precision Computers in fort lee with REAL PEOPLE experience. Who are you going to talk to? The 18 year old in the g--k squad or someone who really talks to you, and offers you real advice. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES that know what they are doing, before they are all gone. I can assure, you do not want to trust your vital computer to someone who can barely pass an A+ computer test 18 year old at a chain store, bring your computer to people who have COMPUTER in their name and on their signage. I am just so delighted in finally getting face to face service, and fast service too. I recommend this establishment to everyone. And every time I had a problem in the 15+ years I've lived in Fort Lee, these guys were always willing to help. read more

We've been using Precision Computer happily for years. Decades even and have never, ever, had a problem with them, their staff or their services. They service our office equipment and well as the computers in several of our homes and their service and advice has been spot on all these years. We have never had a problem with them as individuals, their service or their prices. They've done everything from wiring our 25 person architectural office for computer, internet and networking services to suggesting a freeware backup software solution for my home to back up my photographs. We are a 25 person architectural firm and are very persnickety yet Precision has always resolved our problems quickly whether at our office or over the Internet or even at my home. We have been dealing with Peter for many years now, ever since Mike passed away, and he is always available by phone to give advice or walk us through problems. We have bought several computers from Precision over the years, and they were always built to our exact specifications. My laptop video card stopped working. I took it in to Precision Computer of Fort Lee, along with a brand new external hard drive, and asked them to get the data off the drive (not to repair the laptop). When I came back to get the data, Precision had copied only the data from My Documents, onto a thumb drive, when they then added to the bill, at a not very good price. They hadn't used the external drive, and they hadn't copied any of the data at the root of the drive (some large virtual machines and images). They told me that any files not in My Documents were only program files, and would not be useful on another computer (very wrong). Not impressed. read more
