I am visiting NJ for work and one of my laptop fans went wonky and was making an extremely loud, obnoxious noise. I caught Amir super early in the morning, right after he had opened, to see if there was any possible quick fix for the issue. Unfortunately, he didn't have the part in stock, but he was kind enough to offer some advice, as well as disconnect the fan to prevent the noise from continuing to occur until I am able to get a fan replacement. Amir was very kind, welcoming, courteous, and he got me on my way with a quick 3-5 minute fix, free of charge. The world needs more people like Amir! Had to get my laptop screen replaced and called them up for a quote. Because of the tariff's, they told me to wait it out as the replacement was very expensive. After a couple weeks I called them back and they were able to order and replace the screen quickly. I appreciate their honesty and having me save some money during the process. read more

To mirror the format of the response here - THEY DID NOT OFFER A REFUND and that's the problem. Of course I don't like having the wrong keyboard installed on my laptop. From look outside, it's not the place I usually prefer to go. It's small, full of computer parts and somewhat outdated store. This store cannot compare with other gigantic computer retail stores. The only reason I went there was Yelpers review and to revive my dead computer. I spoke to Alex briefly about the problem, left my computer for him to work on. Eventually I needed change motherboard drive, hard drive and upgrade my window version to latest one. It was total $245 to change all of them. I wasn't sure that price was cheap or expensive, I thought that's reasonable price. Computer was ready by next day evening. Alex was nice and very professional. I'll go back to him with my computer issue for the future. I saw many people coming in with their computer. There are only a few parking spots in front of the store. read more

I had planned to take the CPU of my Windows PC to Staples in Hackensack for diagnosis and repair - only to find that their tech was at some area staff meeting, and their internal computer system was down so they could not process a repair order so I could leave it there. I did a Google search and found Compu Teaneck. It's really a one-man shop, but the tech was friendly and helpful -- after another day or so, he was honest enough to say that there wasn't much he could do to salvage our 7-year-old PC. When we acquired a new one, he transferred our data to an external hard drive for us. Did a great job. I will definitely consult him again. I only wish he made hiuse calls. read more

There are times in life when you are so pleasantly surprised you have to come back to the office and write a yelp review. After my laptop screen went haywire on me, I scoured the internet and made a dozen phone calls looking for a computer repair company. Last week, I dropped my beloved iPad. I "live" on this device and felt my stomach drop when the screen cracked into a million pieces. I work in the Teaneck area and told my coworker about dropping the iPad. He suggested CompuTeaneck as they fixed his cell phone screen when he dropped his. Needed to get my iPhone 8 screen repaired and found this place was open during the state wide shutdown. My screen was shattered with glass pieces falling out but repair was just under $100. New owner. I was a steady customer under the former owner and her staff, and I found them to be miraculous - better than the Best Buy Geek Squad or its many equivalents, and who knew such a tiny store on a side street in Teaneck could be so good?!! I am disappointed with what just happened under new owner Amir. I left my computer with him for a day and overnight for the simple task of transferring everything from my current laptop to my new laptop. When I came today, he told me it was done but when I turned the computer on his ship, a chunk of it wasn't downloaded. As soon as I said, Amir, there's stuff missing here, he said, "I won't charge you the $59." But that's not what I wanted - I wanted all my stuff transferred to my new computer, including apps so I don't have to download all of them again and even buy some again. He then got defensive and said, "you asked only for your data to be transferred and I don't do the rest (like apps)" In fact, I called him on this: "Amir, I asked you to transfer everything from my old computer to my new one." Folks, exactly as would happen if you went to the Best Buy Geek Squad or someone else. In other words, his handling of this was all over the map, taking responsibility and offering my money back, then making an untrue excuse, and a total mess. I would have said no sweat if he had just offered to install the rest, like my apps, but he said he didn't do that kind of thing. That's crazy! Any other computer service would! Great people. I used to do all the computer repairs for my family, but as I went to college, I wasn't able to do it anymore. After having opened up my mom's laptop which had a bad cable going to the display, but not having time to order the part and fix it before going back to school, I told her to take it to them and not tell them that we already knew what the problem was. I went to replace my hard drive and had no problem doing so. The tech suggested that I add windows 10. I went to update it to windows 10 and hard drive crashed as it was updating when it was literally JUST replaced days prior. I went to get a refund since it was only within a week, was told I can't do so since I already got the hard drive replaced by someone else. First of all I need my laptop immediately so I needed to fix the problem right away and second of all why would I go back to get it replaced by the same place that just crashed it when they JUST replaced it!!!!! Also was never told the terms of the warranty, EXTREMELY misleading!!!!! Wouldn't recommend anyone going there!!!!! Horrible service!!!!! read more
