They removed the offending handles that looked like tetanus waiting to happen, and installed a keypad outside. Now the doors open fully! both of them, and even higher than we even knew they could go! The garage is safer and way more convenient now. They helped program our van that had a built in button, and gave us three other remotes. There is an app that lets me open the doors from my phone, from anywhere, and notifies me when they have been activated. We are very pleased with the entire process, service, products, and staff. I'm so glad I found Precision Garage Door Service of Long Island. I had a lot of problems with my garage door. It was made with cheap material and weak springs, which caused the motor of the opener to wear out over time. It got so bad that the door would struggle to close and reopen on the way down. After researching several garage door repair shops, I chose to call Precision. I soon discovered that they have a team of technicians that know what they are doing. When I made an appointment for a tech to come to give me an estimate, Precision kept me informed of his arrival time. Great communication! They also sent me an email with his name and his picture, so I'd recognize him. I had watched some videos on their website, which gave me a good education on the workings of an automatic garage door. When we had a problem with our garage door & noticed a bad spring on a Saturday at 4:45pm, we assumed we were stuck until at least Monday, likely longer. We were told a technician would be there the next morning - a Sunday! - between 8am & noon and that he'd call a half hour before he came. Called and scheduled an appointment with ease - they give you 3 to four hour windows, usually 8-12, 12-4, or 4-7 and work around your schedule. Hunter H was as friendly as can be, and I can be pretty annoying by always asking questions (just because I am curious about repairs and all that). Had a garage door that was banging (sometimes violently) and stuttering on its way down. Had the springs and cables replaced, and when all was finished Hunter and I tested it (up and down) quite a few times. There was some tiny squeaking from the spring rubbing against the track (very VERY little room to work with in my garage - low ceilings and only inches on either side of the track). Hunter problem solved for an additional 15 minutes just to make that tiny little squeak go away and it sure did! The motor was also vibrating when in use and Hunter found the problem within 3 seconds and fit a missing screw into where it was supposed to be. It's like a brand new door now. In Short: On time, dependable, friendly, explains everything thoroughly, will not leave until you are 100% satisfied. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend (especially Hunter). read more

Israel was the technician who came out. I am beyond satisfied. I would certainly rate this company and especially this technician a 5 out of 5. He was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. He came quickly and called ahead to let me know he was on the way, and he was very friendly and polite. I was actually surprised how nice he was. Aside from his friendliness, he was fully prepared, experienced, knowledgeable and professional ready to tackle any job. My garage door had multiple problems, and he worked making adjustments to get everything just right. He gave me advice, and multiple options for now, and the future. Their charge was quite reasonable for the time spent, but more for their expertise in solving your problems. Their trucks are beautiful and well stocked. I asked Israel for some of his business cards as I will be giving them out to friends and highly recommend this company to them. I've been in my home almost 20 years and had the garage door replaced at least 15 years ago. It's never worked quite right and I found most local garage door companies somewhat sketchy. Tom Jenkofsky was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the door's operation. He did a full inspection and recommended several options for the repair. Just comparing the quality of the parts (heavy-duty pulleys!) used by precision versus other companies shows that you are working with the best. Tom and his apprentice Taylor handled the replacement quickly and cleanly, and now the door is quiet and reliable. They also taught me how to maintain it seasonally using silicone spray instead of gunky white lithium grease. I wouldn't call the prices a bargain but I certainly felt that I got what I paid for, and the 10-year warranty gives me additional peace of mind. 2/17/16 Just cannot rave enough about the professional service from Tom Jenkofsky and his Assistant Taylor today for the repair of our garage doors! They provided the best home repair service I have ever experienced. They were punctual and very professional. I was impressed to receive a call about a half hour before their scheduled arrival time to let me know they were on their way. When they arrived, they explained the process of how they'd repair our garage doors. Tom explained it would be a tedious job for them as some previous garage customization had made it difficult for them to access the springs and hardware which needed replacement. We had been having issues with out garage door opener. We contacted Precision on a Sunday about 11 am figuring we would be able to schedule an appointment for sometime during the week. Amazingly, Shane contacted us and arrived at our house in less than three hours. We spoke briefly about the problem and he spent some time diagnosing the issue with the door opener. He was able to clearly outline what the issue was and how it could be fixed. He offered various ways to handle the issue from a quick fix to a total overhaul. We opted for a middle of the road price point and a way to fix multiple issues with the opener and some with the track system. Our garage door failed to open upon returning home. I checked it out and discerned that the power was good to the unit but nothing worked and no lights went on. I presumed the power in the mother board had failed and felt with a 12 year old unit it was probably best to replace the opener. Though I have installed openers myself in the past it is not an easy project for one novice person to do. Very thorough and professional, answered all my questions. No hard sell, and I liked the price. Didn't bother getting any other quotes. Scheduled install about 2 1/2 weeks later, Brian M. showed up and went over everything with me. Again very professional, courteous and patiently answered all my questions.
